Rated 5 out of 5 by lbnm from So Comfortable But Out of Stock So Soon! I came to the Freeport store while on vacation and bought the Mariner blue which is a wonderful shoe. It was explained to me that the summer stock is running out and fall stock will be posted soon. Why doesn't Bean's lengthen their season a little longer by having a greater stock of shoes such as these that are good selling shoes? These shoes accept an orthotic and look great! I ordered one of the last of these in grey! I hope that Bean's offers more of this type of shoes, since it looks great and is super comfortable. Also, I really like testing shoes by going up and down the big rock at the shoes department in Freeport. Great idea!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Heidismom from good shoe I purchased the navy color. I would describe this shoe as supportive, but not cushy. I typically shy away from mary janes as I find the cut out usually is not in a good spot and cuts into my foot, or the strap is too thin. Not the case here. The cut out is far enough up the foot and the strap is wide. I have a thin foot, and there is plenty of velcro left to work with to tighten the strap. The toe box has ample room. The shoe feels more solid on the foot, not plush, but not uncomfortable or too hard, either. I have a high arch, and look for arch support. This does not have the highest arch, but there is arch support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bramblekite from cute, comfortable, durable! Wore these for a week in Belize. These were worn in the ocean, walking many miles daily in towns and cities, Mayan ruins, jungle trails, river, rocks, gravel, dirt, sand, and mud. These saw me through it all, and also looked cute enough with the skirt and dress I brought along. I was concerned that they'd rub or be uncomfortable after getting wet, but that was not the case. The only problem I had was the insoles slipped a little when walking over rough terrain after getting the shoe wet. I think a small application of 'shoe glue' will keep the insoles in place for next time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SuzieBear from Not improved I had a pair of LLB sport sneakers, mary jane straps. They were "better than bare feet" -- comfy, easy to wear, versatile. I got these to replace the much worn old pair and discovered a number of "improvements" in the design. The straps are narrower and not single piece, so harder to manipulate. The soles are less sneaker -- thinner. The toe bed isn't as wide and there's less ventilation. It seems like someone took a very good design and and tried to make them dressier. Sadly, they don't measure up to the previous version.

Rated 3 out of 5 by jvb654 from Comfortable - but Not All Over I have always been a big fan of MaryJane shoes, and was excited to see a walking, sporty-footwear version. The shoes are very comfortable and roomy, except that on the top edge, where are your ankle bone is, the shoe comes up too high and is very uncomfortable. Before you think that I just have low ankle bones, please let me say that I have never had this problem before in my entire life, with any shoe. I am hoping that with enough wear, the top part will soften and not be so uncomfortable. Until I know if that will be the case, I can't recommend these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Molly15 from Great for adventures near the water! I wear these shoes to the pool in the summer and when on beach vacations. On a recent trip to Maine they really saved some outings - out on a walk when a heavy rain started, searching for sea glass along the water’s edge, and walking home after evenings at the beach. They stay true to fit and have plenty of traction when wet. They won’t dry indoors too quickly, but they worked for everything I needed to do and didn’t rub the wrong way at all. They were a bit longer than a usual 9, but I think that was good - no heel blisters, no sore feet!

Rated 1 out of 5 by beachshoes from disappointed Just received these shoes and was pleased with the redesign until I wore them I thought these would be like the ones I have had for years and really liked but there is something wrong with the new design of these water shoes I wore them for 30 minutes and now have two huge blister on the back of both my ankles Tried loosing them, then tried tightening them nothing worked. So very disappointed so I have sent them back and now have to start all over again. I waited almost 3 years for these shoes to come back..

Rated 4 out of 5 by mariecA from Comfortable Shoe I have arthritis in all my joints so I'm always in search of good comfy shoes that give my joints room and support they need. When these arrived a month ago I inserted cushion insoles and my orthopedic inserts and I've been wearing them everyday since. They're also light weight on my feet - another plus. So, what did I do? I ordered another pair. When I find a shoe that works for me I buy them up before they're discontinued! Almost forgot to add that finding Wide Width is Gold!
