Rated 5 out of 5 by NauticalGirl1 from BEST GORE-TEX RAIN JACKET EVER! You will never need another rain jacket. I had my first one for over 20 years and it held up great. I bought another (only because I out grew my original) one this summer in a larger size to take on my trip to Ireland. It packs really small. I can put a fleece or sweater under it. It breathes nicely. Some rain jackets make you sweat inside. This does not. I spend a lot of time boating. This jacket is truly water proof and great for blocking the wind. This jacket is a bit expensive but well worth it. IT IS THE BEST INVESTMENT IN A GORE-TEX JACKET YOU WILL EVER MAKE AND YOU WILL HAVE IT FOREVER.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WAtraveler from Six Stars for the New Style Stowaway Jacket! I have worn various Stowaway jackets and coats, different models, different years. The new Stowaway Rain Jacket is the best! I has snaps all the way down the front! The annoying Velcro closures are gone. The front zipper is heavy duty and works well. There's some style with princess seams, front and back. Zippered pockets lined with comfy soft fabric are located on the front princess seams. I like that the back is slightly longer, a good feature in a rain jacket. Color? I ordered azalea, which is quite pink, but a beautiful color. Love this new rain jacket! Kudos to LL Bean customer service for listening to reviewer critiques on previous model Stowaway jackets.

Rated 3 out of 5 by east2west from three strikes, you're out I want to love this jacket but over the past few years I've had to exchange the same style in two times because I've had major issues with the main zipper and the zippers on the pockets. No matter what I do or how careful I am they always get the fabric of the jacket caught in them and get jammed so it becomes impossible to zip or unzip anything on the coat. The bottom of the pockets always get damp when I wear it in anything stronger than a light drizzle and water also tends to pool and soak through around the wrists of the jacket. It's been a great wind breaker for me and keeps most of my body dry but I can't deal with these zippers and damp pockets anymore, which stinks because I love LL Bean's products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ColoDaisie from Excellent rain gear This rain jacket stood the test during a week in Ireland, through driving rain and wind in the higher country, and a very choppy, splashy, rainy boat ride. I stayed dry and comfortable (side zips help a lot) and the jacket was never saturated. A quick shake at day's end, hang overnight, and it's ready for another day. It says it can be stowed in its own pocket but I find that is hard to accomplish and would stress the pocket zipper. But it can be folded, rolled and tucked into its hood, much easier. I hesitated at full price, but it is worth it. Matching Stowaway pants performed equally well. My usual Bean size, Petite Medium, was fine with ample room for thin base layer plus fleece or sweater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by snigda from Great fitting jacket I'm very pleased with the 'waterproof' aspect of the jacket, however, the rainy season is just getting started here in the PNW so time will tell. The hood is adjustable and fits well. I chose the blue sapphire color but would have preferred, if available, a bright yellow or orange color for high visibility when I'm out walking. The overall fit of this jacket is very good. I am 5' tall and 143lbs - the L-Pet size is perfect for me. The sleeve length is good and there is ample room for layering. Seems like a high price for a waterproof jacket but if it lasts several years as others have said in other reviews, I'll be 100% satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Loyal2Bean from Found you! This jacket is everything I've been looking for and more! I wanted a shell with an interior pocket to keep valuables in when I'm traveling, a hood that can be tucked away, and a good quality shell that actually keeps me dry. I just came in from a walk in the rain, and I'm dry to the bone! The "more" that comes with this jacket is the great closure at the neck that will keep my neck warm in the winter, the zipped air vents for breathing on those long, humid walks, and a great visor on the hood. If I could ask for one more detail, it would be discreet reflective tape for nighttime walking in town. It's pretty much perfect the way it is, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MarciFarmGal from It Delivers! Purchased two other rain jackets from BEAN, neither one lived up to its promises of keeping you dry. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. This jacket is a little pricey, but I am ecstatic about the performance of the Gore-Tex. I can be in a rain storm and this jacket keeps me dry as long as I have it on. The material breathes so you don't sweat. Highly recommend. I ordered a petite and was sorry I did. The size truly is petite. I would have liked a little more length to the sleeves and jacket length, but I do like the fit as long as I don't have to wear a bulky sweater under the jacket. Very Happy Farm Gal : )

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rigby12 from Exceptional Jacket I have had this jacket for 12 years. It's exceptional. I've worn in numerous tropical storms (I live in Florida), and not a single drop has slipped through. If you swam in this jacket, your top half would come out dry. I've hiked, rolled down hills, and climbed rocks with this jacket, and never had any issues. I'm in the market for a new one because I seem to have permanently stained the sleeves somehow. I paid $150 12 years ago, and it's still going strong. You won't regret this. I'm 5'1 and 130lbs. Like all LL Bean clothing, it runs a little big.
