Rated 5 out of 5 by BiddeBee from A GoTo Favorite Such a classic, timeless. I have bought this shirt in 4 colors and would buy more! I am always finding new ways to style outfits around these shirts, and they have become somewhat of a signature look for me. They are too warm for me to wear in summer, and I miss them during those months. I think they are a flattering cut for most figures and are comfortable and versatile. I wear with jeans and sneakers, or with dressier pants and gold necklaces and heels. I roll them up for travel, wash and dry with no signs of wear. Hoping to see color options expanded again. I also have 3 colors of the dresses that I wear with leggings. Hope to see those come back too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MichiganOutdoorsGirl from Just OK, Clingy I really wanted to love this shirt. The pictures really sold me on the shirt until I tried it on. I am normally a 1X at Lands' End so I ordered a 1X. The sizing was accurate as was the fit. However, the material is ribbed. Since it is ribbed, it clings to every bump, roll, curve that you have. If I didn't have any rolls I would probably love this shirt. But since I am a 1X I have a few and I would prefer that my shirts not accent them. When I ordered it online, I didn't realize that the material would be like that. So if you don't like ribbed shirts, you may be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SRP9 from Cute top but the tags are murder This shirt is very attractive and well fitting. I have washed it a number of times in cold water on the delicate cycle and it has maintained its shape nicely. My only complaint is with the two tags sewn into the side seam. One is cloth and the other is a stiff papery material. That tag hits just above my waist and has been picking me to death. It is very uncomfortable. I have cut it off as close to the seam as possible but enough of it remains that it is still picking. If this tag were lower on the seam it wouldn't bother me because my slacks would be between my skin and the tag. I suggest that all side seam tags be relocated down almost to the bottom hem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1Petite from Back on Track :-) I recently bought another of these in Navy/Cream (have 3 total). I previously had to give a bad review as when I bought it in a different shade of blue the stitching was way off. I am happy to say that the stitching on this one is perfect! The fit is great - comfortable across the bust (34C), & roomy but not too big around the mid-section (not huge on my like some of the button front shirts). The length is perfect. I love the quality of the substantial ribbed cotton - holds up very well in the washer & dryer. Bean I hope to see some new, pretty Spring colors soon! And please make the elbow sleeve version with notch collar in Petite! I tried the Misses Regular but the notch was just a little too low.

Rated 2 out of 5 by kingpark from Disappointed I have long been a fan of Bean's French sailor's shirt. So I happily ordered my fifth shirt--this one in indigo heather/cream. It pains me to say this: I am very disappointed. The cotton fabric is different. It's thinner than the fabric on my other shirts and, as a result, the shirt is clingy and stretchy. Why or why did you change the fabric? You took a high-quality cotton shirt and cheapened it. I'll keep this but the days of ordering French sailor's shirts from L. L. Bean are over for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ablesq from A true classic, great quality I have several of these tops and love them - the fabric is substantial and they wash wonderfully. Can be worn totally casually with jeans and a neckerchief, but I also wear the cream and navy with a pencil skirt and red ballerinas, with a simple red accessory piece and always receive compliments. To wear untucked, I cut off about 3" and rehem them. Note that it is a little bit fitted throughout the body, so it might pull on your tummy if you have a substantial poosh.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KiwiSL from Great looking, great fitting and comfortable I just received my french sailor boatneck in indigo heather/cream and I love it. I wanted the coral rose/navy also but it was gone. Thankfully I ordered the next size up so it fit perfectly. When I measured myself I was on the border of the one size(not in between sizes)but still thought ordering the next size up in case of shrinking would be a good idea. Good thing I did because this fits just perfect. I think the size I fell into would definitely have been too small. The cut and color are very flattering and my boyfriend loves it too. His eyes popped open and he said "Wow". The material could have been nicer, a little rough and their could have been more colors to choose from for women's sizes. Very lacking in the color choices.I'm glad I purchesed this and definitely want more!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Livinlogos from Well made I appreciate the quality of the construction of the shirt, it's just the fabric was a much heavier weight than expected. It's a heavy jersey that's somewhere between a t-shirt and a sweater. It doesn't drape the way it appears in the picture because the fabric is much thicker. So, that's a little disappointing. I would have preferred a thinner fabric that I could layer with a light jacket. This is more of a top layer that you could wear over a button down blouse, as an example. So it really depends what you're looking for.
