Takes over a month to break in
For the first 3 1/2 weeks of wearing these every day, I had blisters on my heels— which was after wearing them around the house and trying to break them in a week prior to having to wear them for work. Now I can wear them comfortably but am unsure as to how long they will last for.

Not weatherproof
The boots will get soaked through just by walking through wet grass. I think a minimum for calling a product water resistant or weatherproof is that it can stand up to morning dew. I don’t even think I’m the only review on here to point this out.

Gets the job done
I used to wear the Keene waterproof hiker, but I just couldn't be comfortable in those. I wanted to support Keene because the boots were made in America of globally sourced materials. Anyway, after many months of deliberation, I tried these LL Bean hikers because in the fall and spring here, the grass is either wet, or dewy. Well, by Jove, the Vietnamese got this one right. The size and width are spot on and they stay dry most of the morning.

Great ankle boot for teen son at work
Bought these in the greenish brown color for teen son who wears them mainly at and walks a mile to work cleaning and bagging at grocery store. He likes them a lot and says they are comfortable and firm and should last a while. He’s had them for 3 month and works 4 days/week. We ordered the same size as his running shoes and they fit well he states. Highly recommend.

A Winner!
I bought these for a friend 5 years ago who wore them daily and is an avid outdoorsman; hiking, canoeing, mountain biking (probably could have been replaced a bit sooner), but they just loved them and were so comfortable too, so we bought the same shoes again. This time we bought some shoe water repellent to further protect them. The price was affordable too compared to others. Highly recommend!

Comfort and Support excellent.
I bought these shoes for my husband as he was suffering from severe ankle pain. He broke it his ankle and had surgery and although everything healed if he stands for any amount of time pain would increase making it difficult for him to walk. From the moment he put these on he could feel the support in his arch around his foot and his ankle. Amazing shoes great fit and supportive. Will definitely purchase again.

Great Boot
Bought these same boots about 6 years ago. They worked great until I wore them out and my feet would be sore when I got out of bed the next day. So I purchased another pair a few weeks ago. They fit and feel great and they have completely eliminated soreness in my feet. I am very satisfied!

Better than two other brands I’ve tried.
Tried Keen and Merrill but LL Bean held up better. The others came apart at the upper toe seam but LLBean stayed together. I do rentals and construction so pretty hard on shoes. Go thru 2 or 3 pair a year.

Nice hiking boot
The boot fits my relatively narrow foot nicely and is comfortable. It suits my purpose for relatively short and easy hikes. The tread seems to collect dirt (mud) rather than ejecting it, as on other boots, but so far has not been a problem.

Excellent Day Hikers.
First hike in these boots was a little over 4 miles with 1100 feet of elevation gain. Boots were very comfortable right out of the box, soles have a great grip. Probably best for day hikers like me. very affordable. Expect to buy again
