Perfect - except for the cover fabric
I had previously bought a medium-fill down pillow and like it very much. I ordered a firm-fill pillow for a little more support. Unfortunately, the new pillow has a different cover fabric than the medium-fill pillow. The firm-fill pillow cover is stiff and crisp in texture and is noisy to sleep on - it crackles and rustles when I move and the stiffness makes it hard to reshape under my head and neck. I think that if it had the same soft, quiet cover fabric as the medium-fill pillow it would be perfect.

Great pillow but too expensive
Fabulous pillow! I used to buy one every year. The cost is astronomically high now though. I think this will be my last purchase of one because it's so expensive.

"FIRM=SOFT!
I have always had "Firm" Down Pillows. Mine have had twenty years of usage. I purchased one last month from LLBean, wanting to try the quality. I returned it the next day.
The "Firm" was not at all that. It was more equivalent to an "extra soft". A mistake must have been made when they were counting to obtain the "700 Fill". They must have stopped counting at 350.

My new 700 White Goose down pillow case
The 700-Fill white goose down pillow is really comfortable, it is soft and great to sleep on. the size is just right for fitting my pillow case. the material on the pillow looks and feels like it is good quality, and it looks well sewed and put together.

Love this pillow!
The Soft Standard hits the spot for me because I like to sleep on my back with a small amount of support and/or on my side and be able to “scrunch” a pillow as well! Expensive, yes, but I can definitely justify because I’m old(er) and want to sleep comfortably! That’s all.

Heavenly for a Side Sleeper
If you are a side sleeper you will love the support of this firmer pillow. No more aching neck and shoulders. Fluffs up very easily and always maintains the required firmness. There is no need for two pillows with this 700-fill down pillow.

Replacement pillow
I was replacing and earlier pillow that had gone flat after way too many years. I am happy to say, I am enjoying my new pillow. It did seem excessively expensive and still does but other than that I am a happy camper.

Fantastic pillow
I hesitated to buy an expensive pillow. My old ones was at least 20 i think, but it was a Bean down. I was dubious about firmness recommendations, but I figured they know better than I do, so i got Standard Firm, being a side sleeper. And they are absolutely right. The difference is amazing. My neck no longer bothers me in the morning right from the first night. It was magic.

Finally a Good Night's Sleep
I'm a restless sleeper and occasionally have insomnia. Medium firmness provides enough support for head & neck when I turn over on side. I use a second 'soft' one for knee support. Both pillows will crumple up or fluff out as desired. No more problems waking up and not being able to get back to sleep again!

The cost is worth the price!

Disappointed
I returned this pillow. The piping along the edges of the gusset was large diameter, hard, and very uncomfortable. The 700-fill down was very nice but had a tendency to migrate to the far end of the queen-size pillow overnight. And a final comment - L.L.Bean should state the "minimum 75% down" content in their online product description.

This is VERY firm
I’m a side sleeper so I followed the website recommendation for a firm version of this pillow. I read the reviews, it looked like it would be a good choice. Fast forward: my husband now has this pillow. It is so firm that I couldn’t get comfortable. I bought the soft version, skipping over the medium option entirely. The soft version still has plenty of support and is much more comfortable (more affordable too!).

Great for neck pain.
This pillow is so comfortable and provides an excellent neck support. I have a chronic neck pain and since using this pillow, my neck pain has greatly diminished upon waking up in the morning and most of the day. What a relief !!!

Love LL Bean pillows. Do not buy My Pillow
This is a solid pillow as advertised. I am happy with this heavy weight pillow. I am side sleeper, sometimes on stomach. This works so well. DO not buy a My Pillow....They are clumpy compared to this pillow.

Worth the price!
For years I’ve been buying the least expensive down pillows I could find. But this time, I decided to order “the best,” even though the price seemed exorbitant. Surprise- the pillow is worth that price. No more tossing and turning and having to push/prod/shake the pillow to get it just right; it’s always just right. A quick shake in the morning as I’m making up the bed, and when I climb back in at night, the pillow is ready for me.

No more backache
This pillow is wonderful. I no longer have backaches in the morning. I used to need heating pads, medicine and so forth every day from the backaches in the morning. This is a good sized pillow even though it says Firm Standard.

Awesome!
After sleeping on this pillow for just a few nights, I realized my chronic neck pain was dimished, as well as my bilateral thoracic pain. I have slept on down pillows for years, but never on one this firm. So thank you LLBean for a wonderful product once again. It is extremely well made, and the covering is luxurious. One problem, though, is finding a pillow protector that will fit, due to the heft of the firm filling. Anyone have any suggestions?

Best pillow I have used
Like so many, I have gone through a lot of pillows looking for a great one. I avoided down because of the price assuming it would just be another failed try, but finally caved. I have arthritis in my neck and a big head, so a supportive pillow is important. This has helped a lot - it is firm but does not feel hard, and fluffs up easily. A regular sized pillow case compacts the pillow too much, so I use an oversized stretchy pillow case so it retains its loft. It could use a pillow protector as a little down does leak through, but I have not found one with roomy enough dimensions. All-in-all, I am satisfied.
