I am still shocked that I would spend so much money on a PILLOW - but as I get older my neck and shoulder alignment gets more sensitive. A few years ago I splurged on the down Lands' End pillow and that was a big upgrade for me. As time went by I started stacking two of them on top of each other to avoid the flattening that would inevitably occur through the night. I started to feel like I was wrestling with pillows all night to try to find the sweet spot where there was some give, but enough support. So I researched my options and ordered this one. I was skeptical that this pillow would help me but guess what? I now layer THIS LL Bean pillow on the bottom with one of my old Lands' End pillows on top and voila! Pillow nirvana! (The LL Bean pillow alone was not tall enough for me as a side sleeper.) Just enough support and just enough give for this sensitive lady. I guess I am a combination of Goldilocks and the Princess and the Pea, but I consider getting this nighttime alignment right to be a healthcare issue - it makes a huge difference to me in how my back and spine function throughout the day. Thank you, LL Bean, for this quality pillow! Fellow sleepers, give it a whirl - it's worth it. :)

Best pillow ever
Got this pillow in Medium. It’s perfect. Not to hard and not soft at all. It doesn’t go flat when you lay on it. I don’t have to bunch it up at all. It’s perfect. I did get the pillow protector. I think they are great for down pillows.

Perfect with Right Case
I bought a soft king and a medium king. Love them both. I like the medium for "sitting up" in bed and the soft for lying flat. When I first got the pillows I put them into my king cotton pillow cases and they were both so "puffy" that it made them feel like firm pillows. I bought two extra large king cases and they are wonderful. It made a huge difference as these pillows are very puffy to begin with. Something to consider.

Comfortable
Very comfortable pillow, good support. However, the packaging was not great and I'm surprised in light of Covid. When I opened the cardboard box, the pillow was in a plastic bag which was not sealed. Whatever got into the box got into the plastic bag. There should be better packaging.

Leaks Feathers Everywhere
Would not recommended this pillow. The pillow appeared great at first but immediately started leaking feathers everywhere. It creates a mess with a puff of small feathers ever-time you apply any pressure and has lost most of it's volume in the first 2 months.

Excellent
Excellent pillow if you like down. I had used this pillow from an earlier purchase. After several years it began to be difficult to keep fluffed for sufficient stuffing under my head so I replaced it with this one. As a side sleeper I find the firm pillow to be ideal.

I LOVE this pillow!
I have tried so many down pillows that I began to feel like Goldilocks... too soft, too firm... and then I found this one that is just exactly right! I truly do love this pillow. I ordered the Medium.

Quality pillow
This pillow is super soft and quite lofty. I use it to sleep on my side--I have a small frame so the "soft" pillow is perfect. I also have problems with my neck which requires weekly chiropractic adjustments, so I use a different pillow for sleeping on my back.

Down Pillow
We used your guidelines for choosing the firmness for the pillows and selected “medium” for our purchase. It turns out that this is too firm and has resulted in neck, shoulder and back pain. Perhaps we should have stayed with synthetic materials for the pillow fill.

Goose Down Pillow
Purchased for my husband as a replacement for his old down pillow. This pillow, after just a few weeks of use, does seem to fit the bill perfectly. I thought the sateen cover would be a problem, but using a pillow cover has helped and using an envelope pocket pillow case. He seems to be able to scrunch it into the perfect position for him. Loves it after these few weeks and hopefully forever. Sometimes it takes a little longer to be sure it's perfect. Felt the cost was high, but it has been quite a few years since last purchased a down pillow from LLB. Quality products.

nice pillow
its as advertised and is high quality. what is not mentioned in the ad as far as I can tell is that the fabric cover is from china. small detail. the down fill is minimum 75% according to the label, which to me means there is 25% of something else in there that they aren't telling me. I cant get the pillow to blow feathers out a seam by punching it and the smell is ok. after a few days it will probably improve. the packaging was not great. the pillow was in a plastic bag which was not sealed. one side of the plastic bag was open. this plastic bag was put in a cardboard box. so whatever got into the box got into the plastic bag. at this price the pillow should be protected better in shipping.

I was looking for a high quality pillow without any questions or concerns regarding materials, chemicals, or stuffing. I trust Beans products so tried out the firm standard pillow. This is replacing my memory foam pillow that now smells and is too hot. Beans pillow is amazing. The nicest pillow I have ever seen. No joke. Quality is exceptional. And sleeping on it is a luxury. It holds shape. It’s soft but not too soft. The firm Is great for side and back sleepers. On your side it holds head at perfect height. On back, it keeps your head at right angle so that you are not flat. You don’t need to bunch it up much either. First time I ever got a pillow and the first night sleep on it was the best. Great for my neck pain
I pinched two nerves in my neck and have been on a mission to find a pillow that will help with my neck pain. After trying lots of pillows. This is the winner. I'll never purchase a different kind. I never write reviews but love this pillow so much I had to share my experience. I may go back and purchase the firm one as well.

Great pillow and service!
I bought this pillow for my husband for his birthday. I was unsure as to whether to purchase the King Firm or King Medium. He, too, was unsure, so I ordered both and he tried each for two nights. He settled on the King Medium as he likes to “bunch it up” We returned the Firm. He is quite pleased with this purchase, and we both were over the moon with LL Bean’s service! Top notch!

Nice Pillow
I really like this pillow - it manages to be simultaneously soft & firm and hasn't lost it shape since mid-January, when I began to use it. I was a bit concerned over previous owners' complaints of odors, but I'm happy to say that that is not a problem with this pillow. It's very comfortable & I would gladly recommend it.

I bought my Medium Queen 700FP in 2016 -- almost four years ago -- and have loved it ever since.
After a year or so, the firmness softens a little so I wash it or just re-dry it in the dryer without a wash and the original firmness is restored.
Best pillow I've owned! I also bought a quality pillow cover which may also contribute to the longevity of this pillow.

Nice pillow but not Medium support at all
I am a side sleeper and always look for medium level support. I was disappointed when this pillow came. LL Bean’s Medium version is more of a soft level support than it is medium. The pillow is very flat. You can fluff it up but you sink into it and basically are on the mattress. I would say if you are a back sleeper, you should get this Medium support pillow. I returned mine because it was too flat for me. I am curious if the LL Bean Firm pillow would better suit my expectations.

Not Firm
For the cost of these pillows, one would expect them to be as advertised - firm - but right out of the package I could put my hand in the center and with minimal weight, push right through to the surface below. They are still in the boxes as I am was hoping to come up with an idea on how to use them and make them work for me. Until a couple of years ago, I was always more than satisfied with my purchases from LL Bean, but this is the second round of pillows I have purchased that were flimsy feeling. This time, at well over 200$ per pillow, I am very disappointed.

Too firm but fixable
As many reviewers pointed out, the pillow is incredibly firm and I need a soft one... So I cut a 2-3 inch hole in my nearly $200 pillow and carefully pinch-removed about 4 quart sized Ziploc bags of the stuffing, then sewed it up tightly. I also use a pillow protector for allergies so I'm not worried about any loose feathers. But now I have a customized softness complete with 4 refill bags of extremely high quality feathers for when my pillow needs its feathers replaced. I've had mine at least 3 years now and it's still going strong so I bought a second one for when I'm sitting up in bed. Excellent pillows but be prepared to remove some feathers to store them. Do this outside or in a room easily cleaned or it will look like you just killed a chicken in your bedroom. ;)

Splurged on a pillow for my husband
We have gone through so many pillows trying to find one that works for my husband. He tosses and turns all night and sleeps mostly on his side. He prefers a softer pillow though, so we got the medium firm. He's satisfied with this pillow, which is saying a lot. I have used it too and LOVE it. While it is more expensive than mine, it also feels a lot nicer. It feels indulgent and luxurious.

Standard Firm for Happy Side Sleeper
I'm a side sleeper, and after 7 weeks of sleeping on this standard firm pillow, I find it to be a GREAT pillow! No complaints, just a very good nights rest with excellent neck support. I also purchased the matching pillow protector which I find fits well and is easy to put over the pillow. Everything is top quality and well-designed. Worth the extra money to me... I would definitely buy it again.
