Awesome Coat and Worth The Money!!!!
Awesome coat i bought my fiancé for Christmas and she lives it. She typically wears a size 10 coat and i went with the large which fit snug. I would go XL if you plan to wear heavy clothes under it. The material and construction are everything you expdct from LL Bean and this price point.

All great except pockets
First, so glad to find a lined warm wool coat with a hood and quick, easy closure! And the right length - I can’t stand short coats. I like how the toggles are super easy to use one- handed. The warmth is what I wanted, and the lines look great.
I would have appreciated pockets deep enough to store gloves securely. The fit was a little shorter and snugger than anticipated in the arms, but still okay.

Coat is Warm for Maine Winter Winds!
This coat is fantastic for current Maine winters. It is pricy, but you get so much out of it. The thick wool gives you 100% wind protection. Taking the dog out for a few minutes even in heavy rain or snow and the coat stays dry, though with wool don't stand in it too long. It keeps you warm with even a short sleeve shirt on underneath for those quick dashes out and back. Downside is the teeny tiny pockets for your hands mean you cannot put anything more than keys and a lip balm in the pocket. Glove hands do not fit. I will be having a tailor make the pockets larger come spring. There is no inside chest pocket which should be standard on women's coats as well as men's as I do not carry a purse.

Zipper: deal breaker
I like the fit, feel and look of this coat BUT I can't get the zipper to work reliably. It's a big deal since it's the primary way I close the coat to keep the cold out.

Awesome Little Coat!
I always wanted a toggle coat so this year I splurged on this lovely coat. It is sewn with top level craftmanship and materials, very high end traditional looking. It is great to wear with jeans and riding boots. This little coat is something I reach for every time I go out into the cold PA winter weather. It has a soft lightweight wool construction that keeps me warm when I am out and about running errands. Don't hesitate if you want a coat that will look stylish and will be durable for many years to come. Great investment.

Je crois bien avoir acheté le dernier modèle couleur rouille. Très heureuse de mon achat. La canadienne tombe très bien, le tissu est chaud et doux. La taille est juste, je peux même enfiler quelque chose d'épais en-dessous si la t° est glaciale. Comme les attaches ne sont pas de cuir, j'ai retiré une étoile.

Outstanding Winter coat!
My boyfriend bought this coat for me as a gift for Christmas. This coat is beautiful made, quality all the way. Very very warm and has thinsulate technology. Very light weight and true to size. I read many reviews and some reviews were just plain, not valid complaints. The hook and eye closures are beautiful and functional. They aren’t made of wood which makes them less likely to break and distort if made of wood. Hood is amazing and this coat is soft and not itchy at all. I looks fantastic on the body and is tailored nicely! The best coat I have has in many years. Love it!

Timeless winter coat
My wife loves this coat. Following is her personal review: Warm without a lot of bulk. A classic look that goes with everything from a dress to jeans. I did have to order two sizes up, I don’t like a “tight” fitting coat. My typical size seemed tight in the shoulders/chest. We live in NW lower Michigan and it gets cold and snowy here and I wanted a coat I could wear a sweater under. I am a very average build woman, wear a medium in all my other Bean clothes.

A coat is as good as its weakest part
These duffel coats are nice to look at, but the zippers need to be changed. I don't know where they got these zippers, but they are incapable of successfully being used on thicker fabric such as coats or jackets. They keep advertising them because a great many people have noted the poor quality of the zippers. CHANGE THE ZIPPERS AND YOU WON'T HAVE TO KEEP ADVERTISING THESE GARMENTS SO MUCH AS THEY WOULD ALL BE SOLD. THE COMPANY HAS BEEN TOO CHEAP WITH THE QUALITY OF THE ZIPPERS BEING USED. SWITCHING TO A NEW COAT STYLE IS NOT THE ANSWER. ADMIT THIS AS A FAILURE OR LOSS FOR THE COMPANY AND GET BACK TO OLD TIME LL BEAN QUALITY.! THESE ZIPPERS DO NOT BELONG ON COATS OR MAYBE ANYTHING.

Oy the Zipper!
The only reason why I can’t give 5 stars is because of the zipper. It is so low and so hard to start, it often takes multiple tries. I am worried that over time it will not last because it doesn’t seem like it will stand up to the wear and tear.

Gorgeous coat
Classic, will last forever LL Bean coat. So well made. This coat is heavy, warm. The side pockets sit flush no bulging. The rust color is just beautiful. After reading reviews i sized up and I am glad I did. You can’t wear a big bulky sweater under this, it is more of a dress coat. The double zipper is a huge plus allowing adjustments when sitting or bending in the coat. The zipper is no mystery just make sure it is pushed down into both zipper heads. The leather accents on the toggle buttons give this a more lux look. A too agree wood toggles would be nicer but the plastic ones don’t scream “cheap”. The coating will likely wear and thats when the lifetime warranty come in.
One improvement would be an inside pocket for security. Great coat.

Love this coat!
I love this coat. In fact, I now have two of the same--one navy (just bought) and one plaid (have had for two years). They are the perfect weight for cold days. I like the longer-than-usual length; the bi-directional zipper is super convenient. It also has great, deep pockets, making it perfect for dog walking (treats, poop bags, phone, keys--it all fits). And it attractive enough to dress up a bit. The leather frogs are great if it's not cold enough to zip up. The LL Bean quality is exceptional. I am 5'4" and weigh 125 lbs. The 6 Reg fits well, with room for a t-shirt and sweater.

Such a classic!
This coat is so toasty on chilly evenings, perfect for wearing into town and making even jeans look classy. The only downside is the sleeves are quite short but otherwise it is a great coat!

I wanted to love it but I didn't
This is the second time I bought and returned this coat. The first was a few years ago. The construction has changed a bit so I was hopeful it would work this time. Sadly, I returned it. The sleeves were kind of tight and stiff and the shoulders were very broad. I had no trouble with the zipper; it seemed fine. I bought the Size 14.

I purchased the hickory color & it is GORGEOUS! Perfect color for fall ... or anytime, really.
This coat is delightfully soft & tailored just enough to look feminine while also accommodating curves. I'm a 12/14 & purchased the 12R. It fits like a glove with enough room to comfortably accommodate a sweater underneath.
This coat is lined with Thinsulate, which I especially appreciate; super warm without being at all bulky.
I am SO happy with this purchase (my 2nd LL Bean wool coat) & I look forward to wearing it for many years to come. It's perfect!

Great coat.
Ordered petite size 4. I am 5 feet, 95 lb. Swimmer body. The coat fits well. Sleeve is a little too long (would be wonderful if there is petite size 2). The zipper is double sided, a great feature that allows me to zip up or down.

Great coat
I’m 5’7 and weigh 159. After reading reviews, I ordered a 14 (usually a 12) and it fits like it’s tailor made. It has a two-way zipper that I think works fine. It takes 10 extra seconds to properly load both heads at the bottom. I love the way the hood sits on my head. Very happy with my purchase.

Dry cleaning will *ruin* the toggles
My dry cleaner is going to order new toggles and closures and try to put them on. She'll have to take the coat apart to do it. Otherwise it's a wonderful coat.

Just Buy This Coat
This coat is the real deal. I wanted to buy a coat to wear to England and Scotland in December of 2023, when I knew the weather would be a little chilly and a little rainy. It held up like a DREAM. I wore this in all manner of weather -- sunny, foggy, drizzly, rainy -- and it managed to keep me warm and dry. I used umbrellas throughout the course of the trip, as well, but the coat was a lifesaver, was the clutch piece of gear. And it doesn't give you that damp feeling some more rain slicker-style coats can give you because they trap body moisture in with you. This coat was worth every penny. It's my go-to in the fall and winter (and I live full time in Maine), and it's been great. Truly one of the best clothing purchases of my life. High quality, comfortable, and it looks great.
