Our heaviest-weight flannel. Made of thick chamois fabric that's warmer than ordinary flannel, it's a shirt, light jacket and essential layer all in one.
When our founder, Leon Leonwood Bean, developed this shirt more than 90 years ago, durability was the goal. Then as now, the 100% cotton shirt is brushed for exceptional softness and warmth. And it still gets better with age. In fact, customers rave about the "impeccable quality" and tell us that these shirts just get more and more comfortable over the years.

Chamois shirt
These shirts are comfy and warm. We love the colors and get compliments on them. They wash up well. They don’t shrink and don’t need to be ironed. We found out recently that a lot of people don’t know what a chamois shirt is. They are a great shirt for chilly weather.

Pilling too soon
Shirt is warm but it is pilling after only 2 washes. Not even close to the same quality as my 15 to 20 year chamois shirts I am replacing. It may be sent back. The quality is slipping at LL Bean.

Shirt sizing change?
Ordered and received a size large, traditional shirt which was very large in shoulders and arms. This was unexpected and disappointing as all of my previously purchased llbean traditional, size large shirts fit perfectly. Tried medium but was a little snug.
