Runs Large
I realize this is advertised as "full cut for layering". Even with a sweatshirt on I sized down and it fits really well.
You must size down if you want this to fit like other clothing you own. Especially if youre a skinny person
Also, this thing should have pockets on the lower front, it just looks and feels like something that has hand pockets but it doesnt.

Great shirt
Wears more like a jacket . Plenty of room in shoulders for layering could use side pockets if being worn as a jacket. I own unlined guide shirts for those cold winter hunts love these shirts

Warm layering piece
When they say sized for layering, they mean you have room for a big hooded sweatshirt under it and then it is still relaxed fitting. It is a warm layering piece. Warm, but not full Buffalo winter jacket warm. I didn’t expect it to be as it is part shirt.

Nearly perfect
Still needs front hand warmer pockets. And the Medium still fits like a Large. But other than that it’s perfect.

Warm and comfortable but lacking craftsmanship.
I love the comfort and warmth and I wear it all the time, even in some very cold winter days. But the hem is not properly sewn and it curls up. An annoying flaw and poor craftsmanship.

Great fit and lining
Good quality and I love the satin lining! Easy to slide on and off. I’m 6’5”, 215 and the 2X Tall fits great.

Not typical of L L Bean that was expected.
Very disappointed. Not heavy at all like expected. Not warm as expected for wool blend. North Carolina weather is not as cold as the north but this jacket was not warm at all. Very poor product for the expense.

Absolutely Fantastic! I wear it every day!!!!
Absolutely a Quality CPO shirt. Very useful fending off cool to cold here in SE Ohio! Beautiful, colors are vibrant. Classic!!!! Mine is XL but an L would fit me too. XL gives me room to layer. I would suggest this piece to anyone. Class Act shirt/jacket!

Love it
I've had this shirt/jacket for probably 9 years. I love it. Actually thinking about buying another one to keep in reserve. I wear this all the time, it’s actually my primary ski jacket ( southwest skiing so nice and sunny, wouldn’t work well in New England) but I will also where it to to the office, it’s warm at 30 degrees but not too warm at 50. The quality is great and has held up to years of being worn hard.

Primaloft Insulated Guide Shirt
I’m 6ft 235lbs, ordered the XL Tall in the red & black check.. Fit is just right with room to layer under the shirt. Good quality, only disappointment is that the red color is not a bright red as in years past, but it wasn’t a deal breaker.

Stands out in crowded field
Great coat...I am always looking at wool coats/shirts of all kinds, and own several. This one is lined and has primaloft but is not overly warm where I live in VA. Lining is really nice. I have a long torso (am 6'7") and the tall size fit well (I always can use extra length on sleeves, though). Could use more pockets. Again, love the fit, and the liner.

The finest garment ever crafted
You can search all of land and not find a better garment. Such warmth. Such comfort. Such style. In the middle of a Nor Easter there I will be in my buffalo plaid green double x tall glistening in the sunshine. I shall own this flannel for life. I’ve named it Doug.

I bought it a size too big knowing I would be machine washing against recommendations. The shrinkage was perfect.

Good for the shoulder seasons
I like this garment. It's perfect for the fall or spring in New England (30-50 degrees), but I don't think it's going to be enough for the winter. The collar doesn't give much coverage for the neck/throat area and, as already mentioned many times, it doesn't have pockets. For reference, I'm 5'11", 255lbs with an ex-athlete's build and the XL is still a little roomy with a flannel underneath.

Light weight for its warmth.
As stated in other reviews, the fit is boxy.
I am 5'10", 180lb, 44"chest, 32" waist.
I bought the large regular. It fits great through chest and arms, with room for a thick layer underneath. However, it was too roomy through the waist. After tailoring it was reduced 3" total through the waist and fits perfect.
Cuts the wind. Not a heavy layer. Great layering piece.
