  • Waterproof rubber boot bottom keeps feet dry.
  • Premium waterproof distressed bison leather is known for its tough-as-nails grain.
  • Lace-up design provides secure and customizable fit. Laces not waterproof.
  • Iconic triple-needle stitching provides long-lasting durability.
  • Uniquely shaped foot form offers comfort and stability, and a steel shank adds support.
  • Legendary chain-tread outsole gives reliable traction.
  • Features brick red sole found on early boots in our archives.
  • Best for rain, mud and other wet conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots and good looking Love these - my only issue is that they are a bit tough getting on and off. Hopefully once the leather wears more this won't be an issue. I'm a solid 6.5-7 and the size 6 is generous on me. I'm actually awaiting a moccasin style in size 5 to see if they're better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sizing is exactly as described This is my second pair of bean boots and as with the first, I love them to death! My first ones are getting retired because I bought them a size big for getting on and off quickly on rowing practice/regatta docks, and after many years of abuse in rain, snow, dust, and everything under the sun, I wanted a cleaner option for going to and from work. Plus, I figured by actually getting the right size, they will be more comfortable on longer walks, and I can still used the old pair when I go home to visit my parents. I liked the bison leather option because my university mascot was a bison and I liked that the leather feels a little tougher and the deep red bottoms were a fun variation on the traditional boot. They take a little bit to break in, just to have everything mold to your foot and around the ankles, but these are the best options for walking through the slushy streets of New York, or the fields at a sporting clays shoot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and well built boot! I bought these boots for my wife and the quality and the beauty of these boots are amazing. My wife is indigenous and the use of bison made them the perfect choice. The colored sole matched with the brown leather makes for a lovely boot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boot. Runs crazy large. I love so much about these boots, but don’t for the life of me understand why they make these so big. Why is it I wear the same size in every other brand - usually an 8, but I sized down to a 7 as suggested in other reviews & STILL they’re too long & slip on my heel - even with thick wool socks (not smartwool thin). I’m sure a 6 would be too small, so I’m not sending them back, but I doubt I’ll ever be able to wear these on a long hike or anything due to the likelihood of getting blisters. I’ve been wearing them nearly every day the past few weeks with the snow apocalypse in Ky & they’re just perfect for the weather. My feet have stayed warm & dry and no fears of slipping with the amazing grip of this boot! They’re super comfortable too - I wear them all day, showing houses, running errands & for hours after I get home with no issues. I also love the look of them - the soft leather + the burnt red sole. Love...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my boots! I’ve had my Bean bison boots for years and I love them! They fit great, look great, and keep my feet warm and dry. And, I don’t care about using a shoehorn to help get them on or a bootjack to get them off! No big deal! Helps keep from breaking your boots down in the back. Hard to go wrong with Bean boots! Just got a new pair of the green mocs, love them too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every Penny! I have wanted these boots for years, and FINALLY decided to just order them. I always have buyers remorse when purchasing something for myself, but this time, I have none at all! I love these boots. I'm in the Midwest and have been wearing these through the torrential rain and endless mud, and now into the snow, slush and icy schmuck. I love their look and they are so comfortable that I wear them when none of those things are plaguing our weather. They have kept my feet completely dry every time! I wear a typical 9 in every shoe, but purchased the 8 and they are perfect. They are roomy enough to wear insulated socks, but not too much so that regular socks slide. I do think I want to by a liner for these cold days, but I'm glad they come unlined because I know I'll wear them a lot more for rain in warmer temps. I. LOVE. THESE. BOOTS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy! Now I know why my 102-year-old uncle bought a new pair. He wore them when he went hunting with his brother. He had them for decades but were lost when he moved. He missed them (and the hunting memories they brought back) so he bought another pair to wear in his assisted-living home. I needed boots so, in his honor, I bought a pair. The bison looked nice and were tall enough to cover my ankles. These are great! Now I know why he loved them so much. Better than slippers. As my uncle would say, "do not hesitate."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you are an 8-½ get an 8 The sizing guidelines are a little off. If you are an 8-½ get an 8. Otherwise you’ll have no room whatsoever ... for a sock or otherwise. These are great boots! Not meant for real warmth, but oh so comfortable, like a sneaker. The upper part is a bit stiff and will take some breaking in. I love the brick colored sole coupled with the wonderful rich brown bison leather. Looking forward to many years of wear, as I’ve had with my sheepskin lined Bean boots ... another mainstay in my wet and snowy weather boot wardrobe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful boot I have a wide foot and 9 times out of 10 I wear a 7.5. I ordered the 7 and it fit perfectly with a bit of room for a thicker sock. I like the attached tongue but am not yet completely sold on it. Hopefully the loops on the back of the boot are strong and stay well attached as that is crucial for me getting the boots on. They are very comfortable and the contrasting colors are subdued and look great. The stitching and overall construction of the boot is fantastic. The only reason for 4 stars is due to the attached tongue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely LOVE these boots!! Straight out the box they were comfortable, fit wonderfully, I love the bison leather is so soft! I’ve worn them every day since I got them a couple weeks ago (early Christmas gift) so happy my boyfriend wanted me to try LLBean too thanks!!! #madeUSA

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waterproof ! For real! & great color! I have had my boots for about 3 1/2 to 4 years and I wear them every time it rains or if I go hiking. They are a fabulous color and I’ve gotten so many compliments on them from people because they like the contrasting red sole which really looks great with the brown boot. I am normally a size 8 medium width. When I got the eight they were too big so I sized down one size to the size 7. When I first put them on I thought they were a tad uncomfortable but I knew that they would break in and they did after a few months. I have no complaints about these boots. I have stepped in really big puddles in New York and I’ve never had a problem. They are a neutral color so they look good with black or brown. I’ve read some of the reviews about people having some issues with high instep. I personally did not have this problem but if they weren’t sewn at the top then they really wouldn’t be 100% waterproof and mine are. The non-skid sole works well. I like these so much that I am going to purchase another pair. These are definitely a staple in my closet and a go to whenever it rains. By the way when I first took them out of the box they were shiny but as they age they tend to get a little dull and the leather tends to look worn, but that’s the whole idea. I simply love these they were a great purchase for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too difficult to get on! So the tongue is the boot is made differently which makes this boot very difficult to get on, especially with think winter socks, I returned the boot. I went with the sterling lines boot and I am very happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GEORGEOUS BOOT I was afraid to get these after reading reviews - people having trouble getting their foot in and sizing issues. I always wear a size 8 and have a high arch. I'm glad I had an online chat because I was told to order a 7. None of my shoes are size 7. Well, they know what they're talking about because it was a perfect fit. It's a beautiful leather too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality I've had these boots for five years now. They have some wear and tear and aren't completely waterproof anymore, but they have held up well! Well worn and well loved. I plan to resole them soon.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cute but DANGEROUS!!! These are cute, well made, and much more comfortable then I expected. I usually wear a 7 and I got a 6. Unfortunately, the second time I wore them I was jogging back to my porch to get something I forgot, and my foot slipped completely out from under me. It had drizzled earlier and the concrete was damp (not wet, no puddles, just damp). The fall twisted my knee and did something to the toes on the foot that slipped - I think a toe might have a ligament torn. Since I can get around and don't want to be in a medical facility due to covid-19, I haven't sought medical care, but it still hurts after 2+ weeks. I went down and it was a total shock, I wouldn't have expected to slip like that in tennis shoes, and since these are waterproof it was hard to believe. My husband has had some classic Bean Boots for about 3 years now, and when I came limping back to the car he said his were really slippery too, and that it was embarrassing. I'm very disappointed, and, frankly, afraid to wear them again. I love the look and feel of the boots. I've wanted some for YEARS, and I was hoping they would be my everyday boots instead of my Danners, since these are so much cuter. Is there a trick to making the bottom of the shoe non-slip? They are really a nice boot, but I live in a very wet and rainy place, and I can't afford to slip and fall all the time. It was very scary, and I'm glad I wasn't carrying one of my children. I'm afraid I couldn't recommend these to anyone planning to wearing them on wet ground.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally comfortable These are so sexy, comfortable and I know will keep my feet dry. I usually wear a size 8 and bought a size 7 for a perfect fit. I previously bought an ankle high pair and realized immediately that they were not going to keep my feet dry. With these the tounges are completely encased and there is no way Water is getting in unless the water is higher than 2 feet. Also the soles have good traction. Plus they just look darn nice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money. Great in any weather. Very happy with the purchase. Read a lot of reviews and fit is definitely large. A little wider than average and a full size larger. I’m a 9.5 and got 9. Fine with winter socks even with the extra room. These are so comfortable I wear them every day. They feel broken in after one wear! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a boot you can wear nearly year round. I live in upstate New York and have worn them in rain, snow and mud. Walking my dog, yard work and playing around the park with my kids. They are rugged, warm and comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent wet weather boot Purchased the bison LLBean womens boot. We live in western Washington where we get a.lot of rain. This boot is comfortable enough to wear all day, keeps your feet warm and dry and looks great. Cant recommend it enough

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bummer Bought this boot as a gift. Unfortunately the tongue on the boot is sewn up on the sides. This makes the angle too narrow and difficult to get the boot on even with a thin sock. Had to send them back. So many of their boots are made this way. After two attempts I gave sent money and had my grand daughter go to a local store and buy boots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from How do I get my foot IN?! Just arrived, 5 stars for shipping & style. Size looks right but had no idea tongue attached to top of boot. How in the world do I get my Foot in that tiny space?! Need a rest from struggling, even tried with a big shoe horn. Any suggestions welcomed.will amend rating if I can get my foot in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sizing is hard! I've owned Bean boots for the past 30 years, and generally need a new pair about every decade. I read a lot of reviews before ordering these, and decided to follow the advice and order a size down to an 8 from my usual 9. Didn't work for me. I have a wider foot with a high instep. While the size 8 fit my foot ok, it was not quite wide enough to get the boot on my foot, even with a thin sock. So the 9 is fine, I just have to wear a thicker sock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Teenage Daughter Loved Them She like the style, popular but just a little different. The bison leather upper is thicker and stiffer and will need some breaking in. Not a bad thing just an observation. Everything else is Bean quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product- Follow the Sizing Chart! Love my boots. Definitely waterproof! The Sizing/Fit: I usually wear a size 9.5-10. I got the 9, and there's plenty of room for thick socks, but an 8 would have definitely been too small. They were difficult to get on/off at first, but now that they are broken in, and I know to loosen the laces all the way down, they come on/off easily. Also, I have very high arches, and after a few wears, I can feel the support in the sole. They formed to my foot very quickly. They are incredibly comfortable given how tough and protective they are! The Look: The only thing I was surprised by was the color of the leather. It was much darker than it looks on the website. Some people even thought they were navy, at first. It's not a big problem for me, it's just the only thing that caught me off guard. I LOVE the leather detail coming up from the heel! Overall- fantastic boots and everything I've come to expect from L.L. Bean.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I can not give this a good rating I needed a good pair of winter boots and thought that if I’d put good money down for what I thought might be a good product, I’d get my money’s worth. I wore them to work and was on my feet for maybe 5 out of the 10 hour day and my feet hurt so bad, I could barely walk to my car. I even tried gel inserts to no avail. It was like walking in concrete boots. No support, no cushion of any kind whatsoever. A friend offered to buy them but I just gave them to her. She couldn’t wear them either. Waterproof they were but if a person can’t even walk in them, waterproof is useless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dry but Cool Well made and stylish with the red soles against the dark brown Bison leather. The boots are not very comfortable without thick socks or liners. They kept my feet dry in a downpour and when walking through mud, slush, and puddles. They are not warm at all, so you will need to wear wool or fleece socks when it is cold out. I found the heel area kind of hard and uncomfortable so that is also why I suggested wearing thick socks. I love the boots and am thankful that they run wide and long because usually size 11 B shoes run small and narrow. I would tell everyone to buy them with the understanding that their foot comfort might depend on what socks or liners they use inside of the boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots! I wanted a sturdy, comfortable boot that I could wear to work/running errands during wet or icy weather. These boots are perfect! The rich brown color looks great with jeans and even sweater dresses with tights. With warm socks, my feet stay toasty during snowy days. My feet never get wet, and I can take the dog out in snow or clean off my car without feeling like my feet or cold or about to slip. These get a lot of wear during the fall/winter, but I'll wear them in spring with thinner socks on really rainy days. I do wear inserts with them because they can be a little uncomfortable for walking without them. The included shoe strings are also a little bit short. I don't tie them up all the way because if I did, I wouldn't be able to make a knot. The boots can also be a little hard to put on/take off. I have to loosen the laces as much as possible to get my foot in/out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A bit disappointed! I got these yesterday and was super excited. But when I got them out, there was literally glue everywhere on these shoes. Glue, glue, and more glue. They were easy to get on but the tongue had way too much material. For me, the laces are too short although I haven’t pulled them tight yet so they will probably be longer. I was just surprised at the craftsmanship. It’s not the way I remember it. The stitching was all over the place and uneven. Some parts were the way they are supposed to be and some parts were just sloppy. I was expecting more but got way less. I’m afraid my feet may get wet. I guess we’ll see. They are correct about the size. I wear a 10 and got a 9 and my feet are swimming in these. They are wide and still a half size to big. It’s great for the winter. I can wear thick socks. But I can’t wear these in warmer weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots I originally purchased these boots about 3 years ago, at the time, I had a lab puppy, who loved the boots as much as me, and chew the leather on one of the boots- the boots are still wearable, however don’t look the best. I finally was able to purchase a new pair! I love them, easy to slip on and off, the match several jackets and outerwear I have from LL bean, and they are different than most boots. However they do run big- I am normally a size 9, and purchased a size 8 and they fit perfect! Recommend 100%!
