I wear a size 8 and these fit great. Comfortable, and I love the waxed canvas upper - it is softer than breaking in leather (if you can use that material in your environment).

Surprised by how much I like these
To be honest, I wouldn't have bought these if they hadn't been on sale. Why? I have so many other pairs and I guess I never really thought about 'needing' a pair like this. However, after putting them on, I started to think how useful these will be in, e.g., summer (when leather can be too hot). While I probably would've preferred them to be 8" or even 6" (especially if used during warmer weather), I don't mind the additional 2". I got the black; Bean sz 6 for a normal 7.5/8 shoe. Note: When it asks about length and width, I've chosen 'true to size' based on Bean's guidance (not according to what would normally be my shoe size).

Love these boots
Great boot. Comfortable right out of the box. It does run a little big. I’m typically a 6.5, and the 6 fits great with a little room to spare for a thicker sock. I should note my feet are a little narrow.

Everything I wanted!
I suggest following the size guide. I wear a women's 9.5-10, and I ordered the 10. I have about 1/4" of space. I have a high instep, and a wide toe box. I was hesitant if the toe of these boots would provide enough room and I am pleasantly surprised that they do. They can be on the narrow side if you have thick/wide feet like I do. If you have narrow feet, these WILL feel wide on you.
There will be residual glue on the inside where they glue the rubber to the canvas at the stitching. Simply get some adhesive remover and rub over that area.
I wanted a looser fit and feel above the ankle, so I do not tie mine tight. Because of this, there is room in the ankle/heel. Simple fix with some felt placed around my foot to secure my ankle to prevent heel slip, or just an extra pair of socks.
These are unlined and meant to wear with tall, thick socks. If you wear thin, short socks, the rubber to canvas transition can be uncomfortable.
I have not found any flaws to these boots. Thank you LLBean for not changing a design that has worked for years!

Just what I'd hoped for.
I normally wear a size 9 and have a medium/narrow, flat foot and ordered these in a size 8. They fit perfectly with my medium-weight, Smartwool PhD socks. I previously bought a different style L.L.Bean boots in my normal size 9 and they were way too big. Gave them to a friend who wears a size 10 and they fit her great.

Great for my garden and the environment.
Use these in the garden when rototilling or otherwise kicking up lots of dirt. Winds up going into my boots when using other types. This fits snugger at the top (because it laces all the way up and the canvas is easier to snug than typical leather used for the uppers). I just take a hose when I'm done and the waxed surface sheds the water and Im done with cleanup. Plus I love the fact that waxed canvas has no nasty chemicals to get on me or into the environment like other forms of waterproofing.

I could only purchase these because they run a size big - LL Bean doesn't make them in my size (women's 12) LL Bean would get higher ratings if they would make women's boots and shoes in size 12!!

Not warm
Love my boots but if you are looking for something warm, you would want something with lining (which these do not have.) When I went out in the snow and the cold weather, I wore heavy socks but they still were not that warm. If you’re just going on a short walk through the snow they are fine.

I love the duck boots in black. Very comfortable. True to size for size 6 - just enough room when wearing thick socks. The height of the boots took some getting used to when breaking them in. Definitely a must have!

Not quality expected of LL Bean Boot
The stitching was off on both boots. Heel felt like it was too far forward. I sent the boots back the next day of delivery. Also, need half sizes are needed in this boot offering.

Great Rain Boots - Tall Woman Approved

Disappointed.
I have purchased other footwear with stitching on the boot from LLBean with no issues.
I purchased these specifically for an outing and wore them for two weeks each day for many hours. When my foot heated up, glue from the back of the stitches on the inside of the boot melted and ruined each pair of socks that I wore. I tried to rub off all the glue but there was residue each day.
I am returning them.

Why not make them fully without leather?
I don’t like to use animal products, so I love that I could get these in waxed canvas. You make so many different styles of duck boots, couldn’t you make just one without leather/animal products? Please!! I want to keep buying these, but my conscience won’t let me.

Comfortable and versatile
I moved from Maine to DC and needed a cooler pair of Bean boots than the shearling-lined ones I used up there. These totally fit the bill. Subtly stylish, rainproof, comfortable (I usually wear 9.5 and sized down to 8, because my body temp runs warm so I prefer thin socks). I got them in black, and they work for pretty much anything short of cocktail attire or Biblical flooding. I'll happily walk through the woods in them in the morning, then wear them over skinny jeans or tights to go out in the evening.

Definitely not the same, seems they don’t make a lot of things the way they used to... I sent one pair back as customer service was kind enough to exchange for another. With hesitation I choose to go ahead and keep the second pair. Not like quality of the original leather Maine Hunting Boots I own.

Stylish quality boot
I bought this pair of boots for my daughter. I don't believe she has worn them but the style and workmanship can't be beat! She said they were comfortable out of the box. I read the sizing reviews and normally she is a size 7 but went down a size to 6 and they are perfect!

These boots are cute; Need tweaking 2 work
This boot is really cute! I thought I found the right size as the arch support lined up, but I did get blisters on my heels the first few times I wore the boots. I am putting in a cushier arch support and thicker socks. That said, I can really only wear these for shorter distances in bad weather, even though I want to wear them for muddy hiking!

I finally took a chance on the boots after gazing at them for many months. I wear a 10.5 shoe & admit my nervousness about getting the 9! Well it worked. I bought the black ones. I’m Amazed at the craftsmanship. Amy, whose name was attached to the boot making, deserves a big shout out. Wonderfully crafted.
I actually had some rag socks which I thought would make the boots too tight but nope still comfortable. The proof will be when I go into the wet woods & fields. So as of now really well made boot, love the black, size 9 fit my 10.5 yeti foot! I’ve been wanting these iconic LLBEAN boots/shoes for decades. The price drop helped me take the plunge.
