Layering is the solution to cold!
This is my second pair of these gloves. The first was for me. This pair was for my wife. She was tired of her hands being cold when she took her dog out. I purchased these gloves, along with a wool liner glove from SmartWool. That combo has seen me through ice storms and polar vortexes quite happily. My wife has loved her gloves. Her hands have been cold since Christmas.

Warm, functional & long wearing
This is my second pair. I had the first for many years but lost one mitt on a hike so I needed to replace the . My old pair were warm, held up well in usage, provided a decent grip on my hiking poles (in contrast to my other synthetic mitts) and were easy on and off. The new pair aren't yet as easy on and off, but they are breaking in quickly. Like any mitt they impede anything requiring much dexterity, especially before breaking in a bit of a curve to their end, which is why easy on and off is a plus.

Perfect for Snow Clearing
I got these (medium size) mittens to replace a similar pair, but with a sewn in lining. This pair has a thicker and warmer lining that fits closer to my hands, which made it very comfortable for spending hours clearing snow after the last storm.

Yup, charged $10.00 more for a pair of chopper Mit
Yes I did read some reviews, but thought no way. Why would a company charge $89.00 for the choppers on line then send a pair with a price tag that lists them $79.00. I guess it’s all about the $$

Liner wears out fast
I love aspects about these mittens. The color (dark brown) was exactly what I wanted. The mittens are warm, and the liners are soft. However, the liners develop holes very fast. I cannot recommend these.

Disappointed
Unfortunately these gloves were very bulky and not warm at all. The leather cover mitt slides off.

Just like when I was a kid in Northern Michigan!
I grew up in Northern Michigan and now live in South East Pennsylvania. I have been wanting a pair of "choppers" like I had growing up. When I asked for them in stores hear, they looked at me like I was being goofy. Thank you for carrying these high quality, wool and buckskin mitts! My hands and fingers are warm again!! Dave

Great mitts for men
Bought these for my husband for extreme cold protection. Very good and he is very happy. Says it is best to put the liners on first and then the outer shell.

Outdoor winter helpers
My husband had been using a combination of gloves and mittens to keep his hands warm while clearing the snow ladened driveway, while still freezing has hands. These aviator wool and leather glove/mitten ones have done a much better job. He now never goes out to clear without them.

Exceptional Quality
I've purchased several gloves to protect my hands but these buckskin mittens are far superior. The quality of this product is top of the line. I hope to have them for a long long time.

Excellent quality for range of temperatures
Excellent quality, perfect level warmth ranging 36 to 0 degrees F in snowy, clear or windy (causing temps as low as -12.) Use at football games, clearing snow off truck, anytime outdoors. Hand diameter on border between medium and large: medium was perfect, large had extra space in length.

Very warm gloves
I purchased these wool mittens for dog walks and urban hiking in cold weather. So far my hands have been quit warm being out in zero F temperatures for hour blocks. The mitten style also helps greatly to prevent Reynauds in my fingers.

Awesome mitts!
Big, warm mittens - the wool insert is substantial, and the interior lining very soft. The leather outer is sewn in a somewhat odd manner (the mittens are broad and flat, so your hand looks like a beaver's tail), but I love them nonetheless.

Chopper mittens
One of the best cold weather working mitt to be found. Can't beat what has worked for decades. Ordered a medium, returned them and reordered small instead.

Very Warm Mittens
I got these to have an option from gloves that don’t always keep my fingers warm in very cold weather. I must be right between sizes because the med it just too tight and the large are way to big. If you ac try before you buy it would be a good idea to see if they fit right on you. Also check to see if you can get the other mitten in after the the first ones on as it can be very hard to grip and pull it on.

Indestructible
I bought a pair of these in 1977, yes 1977! Worked at 84 lumber (unheated lumber retailer) with them in upstate NY. Hunted for 20 years with them in Wyoming. Nothing else keeps my hands as warm! How do they hold up? I still use them all the time. They will be the last and best pair you will ever need. Great for chopping wood or any other cold weather thing you might be thinking about doing. Buy them.
