Fabric too thick and stiff, does not drape well
I love cord pieces for fall, and tried on this shirt jac in Large. I normally like oversize styling, but the cord fabric was thick and stiff so the Large looked like I was swallowed by it; it did not drape as well as the denim version. Perhaps I will try the Medium the next time I am in the store and see if that fits my frame better. I do like the large chest pockets and convenient side seam pockets.

Amazing Jacket - but super-sized
Very comfortable, looks great (many compliments), pairs well with fall colors but super-sized. With L.L. Bean items described as 'generous' or 'relaxed' fit I have to order one size smaller. In this case I had to go to XS (5'6", 135lbs), and still had room to layer underneath (the size Small looked baggy and shapeless with sleeves that covered my hand). Thinking about ordering the same jacket offered in Denim.

Great details, curved hem!
The perfect soft cotton corduroy overshirt! Side pockets like the 1912 over shirt, detailed collar/placket like the old field coat, flattering curved hem covers the bum but not too long in front. Love the dropped shoulder seams. Quality craftsmanship/fabric supports the price.

Great over shirt! I can’t understand the previous comment/review! I am 67 years old and this is a perfect light jacket. It’s stylish and functional! Stylish clothing is for everyone ageism is for no one. Disregard negative reviews and stereotypes. Be warm comfortable and stylish all at the same time and at any age!
