Nice sweater with some reservations
Bought medium size, way too big.Returned for a small , still too big , but not horrible fit wise.
Color, fabric, feel very nice . Feels good to wear.
As previous reviewer said, zipper is on the funky side- a bit difficult to start, even with bare hands. Can’t help but wonder how long this zipper will last.
All in all, it’s not the wool sweater I’ve been looking for but will continue to wear it anyway. I’ve got very mixed feelings on this one…
By the way , I’ve been a Bean customer for over 50 years, so I am sorry to say I’m a little disappointed with this sweater.

The sweater is comfortable and is sized large, if anything. The pockets are a bit shallow and things may drop out. While I understand another's comment about the zipper being a bit small this is not really an issue and a larger zipper would "detract."

I love the warmth the fit and how soft this sweater is. I bought a medium which is my normal size and the fit is spot on. You won't be disappointed if you're looking for a good-looking warm sweater this is it.

Warm, attractive, breathable and durable.
I've had the quarter zip version of this sweater for almost a decade and it is a favorite so I thought I'd try the full zip. The quality remains the same. It is a comfortable, good looking sweater with all the attributes you want from wool: warm, breathable and durable. The addition of pockets and the full zip are welcome additions. The fit is generous in the arms and shoulders so that you can wear with layers and move easily. This is a winner.

Most comfortable sweater I've ever owned!
Good quality weave of comfortable wool, warm lined pockets and a very warm collar. The zipper works fine and I've not had an issue with it. The sweater is very warm when it needs to be but the better wool breathes enough to keep you comfortable during a hike.

A Perfect Sweater
This is everything a wool sweater should be. Tough and tightly knit but soft, comfortable, and non-itchy. Keeps the body temperature regulated perfectly - never too warm and never chilly. I love these L.L. Bean waterfowl sweaters so much that I also have two crew neck styles. You won't regret ordering one of these sweaters.

Very Nice Sweater
Purchased this sweater for my husband. He generally takes a S in Bean's shirts and a M in jackets. I did however order him the S based on other reviews. The fit is perfect with enough roominess and it's quite comfortable. This is a higher quality sweater, he has a couple of Aran sweaters also and the quality is very similar. Will last for many years.

Comfortable, Casual Sweater
Purchased sweater for my husband to wear on an upcoming trip to Europe. He loved the sweater and wore it more frequently than other clothing he packed! It looked great styled with a t-shirt or collared shirt underneath. My husband is tall and thin--the cut a bit loose in the mid-section, but he did not mind. I would definitely recommend to a friend!

Runs larger than I thought but very nice
Overall, I’m very satisfied with the quality of the sweater. In 6’3 and 190bls and I got the xl tall. It runs bigger than I normally like. But I will layer the sweater so I’m sure it will be fine.

The fit is really good across the shoulders and not baggy at the waist. The wool is soft, not scratchy, and doesn’t cling to the shirt sleeves when putting on and taking off. More of a jacket than a sweater, it’s my new favorite.

Problematic collar design
This has the same collar as the vest I have and the problem is they put leather around the top of the collar, perhaps for less wear and tear, but it’s totally uncomfortable - stiff leather jutting into your neck ! You can never zip it all the way up, but wearing a scarf with the zipper a little down solves the problem.

Great merino wool material but the zipper is too small and nearly impossible to align without a searchlight on it. The lead element is so tightly wedged between the sweater it is often frustrating to get a quick zip.

5'll, 185ish size L. Fits well, right in the middle of size range, roomy but not overly large. Quality? There is another "American Heritage" brand with a well known top end cardigan, heavy densely woven wool, it almost feels like your wearing a coat made of rope. This is not that. Just a mid weight sweater, and hence a little disappointing. There is nothing wrong with it, fabric is high quality with nice details, (and it has pockets).
