This exclusive flannel shirt is woven just for us by true artisans in Portugal. These expert craftspeople meticulously brush our Scotch Plaid fabric eight times on each side to create a long-lasting material with that distinctive smooth and cozy feel. But that doesn't automatically make it plush enough. It still needs to pass the "touch test." Only a master weaver can declare it soft enough.

Perfect flannel shirt

Poor quality
Really disappointed with the quality of the fabric of this shirt, in particular, and the overall poor quality of the texture, feel and cut, that is not aligned with the usual LL Bean quality I've experienced over the years.

Boyfriend LLB Scotch Plaid shirt a great addition
Love the Boyfriend Scotch Plaid Flannel shirt. I think it’s a little shorter than the relaxed shirts, which I also have. They are by no means a fitted shirt, though. These shirts last years, are cozy , keep their color , wash after wash- no one makes a better flannel shirt. Wish all the plaids LLB carries were available in the Boyfriend cut!

Love it.
The flannel is great, heavy and soft. Color is bright. The relaxed fit seems to be a bit more relaxed than other shirts, i could have ordered a medium and it would have fit perfect . I have plenty of room to add another layer underneath it is really cold out. Im 5’6” weight 160 lb warm on cold days.
I live in Iowa, below freezing temperatures not uncommon.

Great warm shirt
I LOVE the color. And it's very warm - a nice, thick flannel. But it is boxy and not a feminine or flattering cut at all. I wish LL Bean would make great flannels like this in a flattering cut for women. It seems they're all "relaxed." I feel like a lumberjack in it! But I do love it and will wear it around the house and yard during the cold months. I am 5'6" and 130 lbs.

Excellent flannel shirt. It did shrink a bit after washing but not a full size. I usually wear an XS and I ordered a S. After 1 wash it fits perfectly. I wanted it slightly baggy to wear over a thermal. Absolutely love it. The colors are great and I will definitely order more.

The shirt is nice and warm and fits fine, albeit a bit shorter in length than expected. The patch pockets, however, make it a bit too much like I stepped out of a rodeo!

Happy with everything about this shirt
I purchased the antique royal Stewart color when it was on back order and I was delighted that it shipped faster than expected. I love this classic color, would love more classic color ways like this. The quality of the flannel is good, medium-thick and soft. I am typically a medium, sometimes a large is more comfortable because I generally do not like super tight shirts. I purchased a medium. When it arrived, it seemed a bit big on me, but I washed it (in cold) and dried on low and it shrunk down to the expected sizing of a medium and now fits great. I like the style with the relaxed shoulders, it is just slightly different than the standard button ups available here. I would not have really thought about it if it weren’t for other reviews mentioning the shoulders. It’s nice to have a new style and the standard one too. Overall a great purchase.

Fit is odd
Love the color and the flannel quality but it is shorter and is a boxy fit verses my other flannels. 167 Lbs ordered XL which is my usual size for layering. Note to Llbean:
Stay with what makes you good and avoid the short boxed off fit for women. Its a bad fad!

Piled first washing
Disappointed in quality. The flannel piled with pre-wear gentle washing. Pretty color and medium weight. Size small fit with nice room before washing. Shrinkage around body (I measured before and after washing.) was less than an inch but length shrunk a lot. I preferred the original length - I'm 5'4'' and 108# so small regular should fit. Would look better ironed, but the piling is bad.

Shirt runs wight too large
I have recently ordered a shirt like this in medium and it fit. The next pullover plaid I ordered I had to take to a tailor to take it in. I ordered this one in a medium and I could not believe how large it was - it was HUGE. I returned it.

Goodbye to LL Bean
I'm sad to report that after decades of wearing LL Bean, I no longer am able to do so. It's all been "vanity sized." A "medium petite" I bought was the size "extra large" used to be. I'm 5'2" and weigh 107lb. Nothing at LL Bean fits me anymore. I'm not the only small person I know having this problem.

I bought this shirt a month or so ago to use on vacation. It pilled from the first moment I wore it. By the time I returned home, it was covered with pills. And that's after wearing it less than a 10 times. I am returning.
I liked the heavy weight but not the short length or the drop shoulders.

New Style Shirt
Very much like this Boyfriend shirt. At first I thought it might be too big for me. I have many of your regular Scotch plaid flannel shirts. I love the fact that the shoulders drop some and having narrow shoulders makes it look like I have more broad shoulders.

A quality flannel shirt
I love this Flannel Shirt. It is so soft, the perfect length for me as I am only 4'11". I ordered the petite length. It washes and dries well. I wear it often either with something under it or just the shirt alone buttoned. The plaid is beautiful. The shirt is a very good quality and it is perfect for chilly fall days,
not too hot, but warm enough to keep you comfortable.
