Amazing value!
I bought these for my son, plus the conditioner. My son proclaimed “these are probably the best shoes I’ve ever owned!” We expect to get 10+ years of service out of these boots. With proper care I can’t see why we wouldn’t.

Amazing hiking boots!
This is my third pair! They well made! They look and feel good and require little or no breakin! I don’t polish, but I use leather treatment to make the leather softer, more flexible, and even more waterproof! So, these are my dress shoes and my old black pair are on my Harley Triglide Ultra! These hiking boots are amazing!

Fit like a glove
This is my third pair in probably 20 years. They are by far the best boot I've ever owned. They feel so secure on your feet and fit nice around the ankle. Love these boots. Just bought my 3rd pair 12-21-24

Lifetime boots
The boots are extremely sturdy, and well built. I live in the Colorado mountains, and I expect them to last 20+ years. That said, the comfort level is ok. They are stiff, but also, they are breaking-in slowly. The comfort level should increase with time. I normally wear a size 13D (medium width) boot/shoe. However, I ordered these in a "wide." I'm glad I did. D's would have been too tight, especially with thicker socks. I also recommend replacing the insole with a high quality insert (gel or memory foam). Shock absorption with these boots is minimal. Overall, if you're patient with the long break-in period--these boots will probably become your lifelong 'friend.'

Sooo Comfortable and Durable!
I got these boots years ago. The style is the same. The only thing that I have done is polish the leather on occasion, changed the laces, and they look like new. I have hiked all over the US and Europe in these things. Great boot. I never wrote a review and felt I should.

Solid, beautiful construction
My husband has been a hiker for 50 years. This is probably his favorite full leather boot. He’s commented that it’s a great looking boot, extremely well made (which is hard to find) and is breaking in nicely. He does order up 1/2 size for his hiking boots. It is an old fashion, true hiking boot - made for function and comfort. My son has also owned two sets of leather boots from LLBean - and loves them.

what happened to the men's narrow width?
My Husband has worn these boots for years and now all of a sudden LLBean is no longer offering men's narrow width? I see on the hiking forums/blogs that he isn't the only one distressed about no longer being able to order men's narrow. Will you be offering a narrow width again soon? PLEASE!?

Amazing durable pair of boots
I gotten these boots many years ago! Abused them thru rain, snow, worked in the daily walking about 7 miles daily. I must admit these boots are solid worth every penny. Leather never ripped my rubber soles did rip but that’s due to age a wear an tear. I would totally get a new set to repair them.

Best Boots Ever
Second Pair, first ones did the GR 10 across the French Pyrenees then the GR5 from lake Geneva to Nice France (about 480 miles) then 250 miles along the North Coast of Brittany. They still work fine but they were on sale plus I had a coupon and I’m not done hiking

Gor-Tex Cresta Leather Hiking boots
This is a replacement pair for a pair I bought in approx 2002. Those were great until a few years ago when the sole separated from the leather.. I hope this pair will be better and not do that because they are incredibly comfortable..even right out of the box

These boots are outstanding durability.
These boots I had gotten over 7 years are still standing never ripped or teared. I’ve abused it snow rain. I use it for work outstand conditions year around very comfortable an warm solid boots I’m defintely buying another pair. Highly recommended it as well.

I am very happy with my purchase. Doing a lot of walking on loose gravel and rocky terrain. The boots fit comfortably and the break in period was only a few weeks for me. I normally wear a ten and followed the sizing chart and got a 9.5, this fit really well. I have not been in heavy rain with them but they have been waterproof from what I have seen. I'll have to see how long the tread lasts on them.

New Boots
It's taking me longer to break in these boots than hiking boots that I usually buy. These are also more expensive. That being said, I think they are a good value ald will last significantly longer. I especially like that they have Vibram soles and Gortex lining. I walk through wet grass a lot, and my feet stay dry and warm.

Amazing Boots
These lasted me for almost 5 year wearing them at work almost every day. I was a zookeeper and it rained constantly. Feet were always dry. Plus they're by far my most comfortable shoe period, even more than my tennis shoes. Can't say enough amazing things, getting a second pair now and will get a third in 5 or so years when I need a new pair.

Please don’t discontinue !
I’m on my second pair of these boots and I love them! I’m almost done hiking the New England high 100 and have used them for every peak. I have other hiking goals when I’m done and hope these boots are still available when I ready to purchase another pair.

Good Boots, but can't Resole
Let's face it, $300 is a lot for boots. I went ahead and purchased these and I'll admit, I made an assumption. I could partially justify the cost thinking that I could get them resoled. I based my assumption on Vibram soles. I thought they could all be resoled. I called several shoe repairs in my area and also called LL Bean service. Turns out you can't have these resoled. Good boots, they did work well for me.

Pretty Much the Last Hiking Boot You Will Ever Own
I bought these boots 15 years ago and I have worn them on every major hike/expedition that I have been on, which includes: African Safari, Peru Trek, and the summit of nine Colorado 14,000 foot mountains (14ers). Mine were made in Italy and I reccommend that you buy the same "made in" brand.
Pros: Last forever (if you take care of them), durable, completely waterproof, comfortable once broken in, great foot and ankle support! Cons: heavier than most boots, takes time to break in.

Well worth the cost!
Well worth the cost! My husband has worn this boot since he was in high school. They typically last a couple of years before needing to purchase another pair. They can go from working on concrete to hiking our favorite trails with no problem! Thank-you LL Bean for making such a great product.

Great low breakin time and long lasting value
I bought a pair eleven years ago when my old boots fell apart prior to a two week hike in the alps. They broke in quickly and now they are still in decent shape despite about 3,000 miles of use.
