Excellent boots!
4th pair I have bought on last 6 years. Work in the rock country of Texas and they are the reason my ankles are still intact. They are light but rugged and extremely comfortable.

Shoes Worth Taking Time To Break In
Meticulously well made leather hiking boots. Be patient and take plenty of time to break them in before wearing them in the field. Once broken in these boots feel great and perform well in rough hiking terrain. If you frequently cross streams consider wading boots or some other shoe made to get wet and drain easily.

Good boots but price has got too high
Like the boots but your price on this boot has gotten totally out of line.
Purchased numerous pairs over the years and they don't seem to last as long as in the past and your price has gone way up and coupons/discounts gone down.

Bought them 3years ago wear them in the fall and spring. Probably put around 50 miles a year on them. Sole separated from upper company will do nothing. Do not buy these boots.

Great boots with exceptional quality and performa
Great boots, I wear these boots working as a land surveyor, walk miles and miles everyday on road and in the woods, I never take care of the leather like I’m supposed to but these boots are very durable and comfortable, always stay dry and never let me down, each pairs lasts about 2 years of everyday use.

Run large and have delamination issues in the sole
My second pair and likely my last. The Vibram soles are tough, grippy and stable, but they have a hard time sticking to leather of the boot. Both times they have started to peel at the toe break, inside edge, then the outside edge with the process creeping forward to the toe. The leather is supple which makes them easy to break in, but over time the moisture from sweat through the membrane seems to soften them too much and the instep and ankle feel baggy and hard to cinch down securely, leaving them feeling a half size too large after about a dozen weekend day hikes. It’s just odd to get heel blisters after you’ve owned the boots for a year without any up to that point. Still, they have carried me well through many, many excellent hikes and in the larger view, they owe me nothing as they have always helped get me home safely each time with just some blisters that heal. Maybe I’ll buy the size down next and try to stretch them out slowly.

Excellent Footwear
Been buying these boots for many years. I wear them practically daily for most of the year. They usually last about four years before the leather uppers separate from rubber soles or the uppers develop a tear along the sole. With this said, I love these boots because of the fit and comfort right out of the box, the support, the excellent traction, the waterproofing (the Gore-Tex keeps them waterproof even when the uppers are torn!), the warmth even on the coldest days, and the beautiful craftsmanship. I do wish they cost less, which is why I usually wait for a sale to purchase them. Overall, excellent boots!

Hands down, the best boots I have ever owned. I worked dairy farms when I was a kid and I spent 20 years in the military and wore boots my whole life. None compare with these all leathers.

Good boots but too expensive for daily wear
I have worn these boots at work for years as a delivery driver, walking many miles daily. They have fantastic support and they're very comfortable. However they last just over a year before the sole is worn through and beginning to separate. It's too bad they aren't goodyear welt construction. In that case it would be worth the money for a resole or two and they would definitely be worth the $300 per pair.
The way they're made, they are sadly disposable once the soles get worn through. It's getting hard to justify the price when I have to buy them almost yearly. I've moved on to red wing boots which are hopefully most cost effective and sustainable for around the same price per pair.
You could say I'm not the proper target market for these boots. If you're a hiker and wear these sparingly they will last much longer and are probably still a good buy. But now that I know more about how proper footwear is made I can no longer buy them at this price.

Bought my first pair in 2003 before a trip to Arizona and Utah to hike the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. Since then, 21 years later, they’ve been all over New England and the Northeastern US for hiking, paintball, yard work, land clearing, home improvement projects, carpentry, and more. Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring, truly a boot for all seasons! Just today the sole finally separated from the upper while stacking firewood. All good things must come to an end. Guess I have to buy a new pair now.

Great fitting boot, but...
I've had a couple pairs of Cresta boots over the years. They feel great on some longer hikes I've done in the Adirondacks. I would buy another if they made one improvement - cover the front in some sort of rubber cover to protect the leather and keep water from coming into the boot. For both pairs I've owned, the seal between the leather and the sole has separated, which allows water in. Both pairs did this fairly early in my ownership. I should have returned them, but they fit well. Please consider my suggested improvement.

The one boot to rule them all
Ive had this boot for 15 years. on my third pair now. I do everything in this boot from hiking the northville lake placid trail, winter snowshoeing and winter camping in leantos. I pair it with a gator so i never get snow/water inside. Completely waterproof.
The boot is very comfortable. Usually i am a 9.5 to size10 range but in this boot i am a size 9 wide. I would recommend trying it on inside the store. I pair the boot with the green super feet insoles- i did devils path in 1 day with no sore feet.
Also make sure to apply bootwax
i originally purchased this boot for the northville lake placid trail and could not be happier. I used this boot daily when i worked in the deep woods as a trail steward. Very reliable
After many years of roughing, the outer rubber rim tends to peel and loses some water proofing, but so would any boot. This boot has been through it all as stated above. from beaver dams to deep snowshoeing and winter camping.

I have been wearing these boots for a long time and I used to rave about them but my most recent pair the lugs on the soles wore down and they are hollow!!!!! The lugs get rocks,mud and snow stuck in them constantly.For the price the soles should be solid not hollow. I will not be buying these anymore.

My favorite boot in the world
I’ve been buying these boots as long as Bean has been selling them. They’re the most comfortable and longest lasting boots I’ve found. They fit great right out of the box and hardly need any break in period at all. Like everything in the the world their price has gone up in the last 20+ years but I think they finally past my limit, $300.00 is too much even for the best boot in the word. Maybe you could bring back the same model in codura again. That one was great too and a little less money. I’ll sure miss them.

Comfortable, completely waterproof. Lasted 5 years
I'm a dog walker and wanted some boots that were truly waterproof. These were (I've stood in a stream) and were also comfortable. Only 4 stars though because after 5 years the sole started to fall off. I wanted to glue it but then realized the part of the shoe it attaches to was disintegrating. I guess gone are the days when boots would last at least 10 years.

Wear out too fast
I have been buying this shoe for years. That's the problem. They wear out too fast. Granted, I wear them every day, but my present pair lasted only about a year and the leather has cracked on the uppers and along the edges where the shoe meets the vibram sole. Obviously, they're no longer waterproof. For $299, I expect more. Before they wear out, they're comfortable shoes. But I'm tired of spending so much money for them every year.

The only boot for me.
I've had 6 pair of these boots. I wear them everyday for work and for play. My feet have never been wet or cold and I've never had a blister. I'm never in a hurry to take them off. The fit is consistent. I order them on line with no concern. They are worth the price.

Have been wearing these for years
I really like this boot. This has been my go to boot for over 20 years, but this last time they seem to have fallen apart faster. The tread is still good but the glue holding it together isn't. For the price I'm not sure I can keep getting them if the quality is dropping.
