Sweaters like an old friend!
I've always loved these sweaters! I've long since grown out of them since my first black one to the olive colored one I was issued in the Marines. I've re-bought both colors in the appropriate sizes now, and I'm just as happy with them now as I was then. I wear them with pride!

Gave this in a small to my son. He loved it and it fit perfectly. Washed hand cycle cold. Shrunk considerably in the wash. Just ordered the medium because he loves it so much. If it didn't shrink so much I would give 5 stars bc it is a fabulous old fashioned sweater.

Great Sweater!
My boyfriend loves the look and functionality of this sweater. The reinforced shoulders aren't something you see too often, and he really appreciates them as an avid hunter and hiker. The sweater is a thick wool and is quite warm. The fit is great - if anything, maybe slightly long in the torso for him.

Worth it...I bought another.
I ordered the Brown Heather Sweater.
I was impressed with the quality. I wasnt able to find a single flaw in the stitching/knit. So I then ordered the blue one. The colours do seem to match the pictures well-- but how they display on your monitor may differ.
These sweaters are super warm.
I am 5'9/ 196lbs. I ordered both of my sweaters in Medium-Regular Length. The fit is snug and this sweater is defintely tappered, as stated. However, the fit on me is just fine.
You can eather roll the bottom under and wear it belt level-- you can't even really tell the sweater is rolled under. Unrolled, the sweater comes about half way down my but. This is still not overly long to wear like this.
I'll probably be picking up some of the commando henley sweaters after this.

Most versatile and comfy sweater I've ever owned!
Definitely the most versatile and comfortable wool sweater I've ever owned! I'm 6'5", 100kg/220lbs, and it fits me and my super long arms perfectly! I'd go so far as to say the fit is flattering. The style is both rustic and casual, and isn't out of place in all but formal situations. The wool is very soft, and the weight of the sweater is great for cool indoor temperatures, as an outer layer on cool spring/autumn days, and as a mid layer for colder days on outdoor activities. As always with L.L. Bean, the quality is top shelf! If you're an outdoorsy and love a good wool sweater, just get one! I literally cannot stop wearing mine!

Perfect sweater
Heavy weight sweater. Not heavy duty because it has “fancy” sleeves designed to fold over. I ordered a medium and a large. The medium was too snug for me. The large is a little loose but not too big. I wear a small in most shirts.

Bought this for our son for Christmas 2023. Great quality, fit and style but material (wool) is too itchy. Plus it requires extra care (since it's wool) that a 21 year old will not pay attention to or want to be concerned with.

Great Fit
The fit is great with enough room to add a long-john shirt and not have to wear a jacket. It has enough length in the sleeves so when you lift to aim for hunting, it doesn't pull. Very comfortable.
