Wrong environment perhaps?
Eagerly awaited delivery of this hammock after reading reviews. Alas, we have been very disappointed. As dedicated Daily Hammock Loungers we find that, since delivery, we have been able to use this only a few times. It never seems to dry out. Indeed, it is often sopping wet. Perhaps it is our humid climate here in Florida. Whatever the reason we plan to swap it out for a more traditional rope hammock.

Summertime Fun
We love this hammock. Once we unpacked its box and set it up on the LL Bean stand, it made for a very relaxing place to spend some quiet time in the yard. It's very wide and was easily able to accommodate one adult and two children.
Good idea to take it inside if it rains since it takes a while to dry out and really holds onto the water. We've had to adjust it a few times (chain length) as it stretches.
It is really well made and looks great in the yard. The whole family loves it, even our 3 year old Golden!

Great hammock!
I got this for my husband for Father's Day. He absolutely loves it. It is so comfortable and can fit both of us plus the baby! It was easy to set up and put together. The quality is great. The only thing I am still confused about is that the directions that come with the hammock say to not let it stay out in the sun and weather, but the website says it can be out. Right now we have it on our covered patio, but it's a little too large for it. I think we are going to have to get a pop up tent cover to put over it. I wish there was an option to attach a canopy to it. Other than that, it is a great product! I got it with the stand and the pillow.

Very comfy
Very nicely constructed, large and very comfortable - the interior padding makes the unit very enjoyable. I definitely recommend a pillow when using the unit. Plenty of room for two "normal" sized adults. The hardware included allows for quick and safe use on the metal stand or attached to trees. Colors are very nice but not overstated - the reverse side is also great.

Great Hammock
This is my first quilted hammock, all in the past were the open weave type. Love it. Have spent a few Saturday afternoons relaxing and reading and it's a great product. Very sturdy materials and well-made; the quality is exactly what I'd expect from L.L. Bean, which is to say, excellent.
My only concern is that without financial discounts ($10 off coupon promotions in early May) and a sale price, I wouldn't have been able to afford it. $220 is a fair chunk of change for my pocketbook.

love this
I purchased this in 2003 and love it. You can suspend it between two trees if you don't want to use the frame, I use the frame though when the weather permits. I just put the hammock away in the winter months. Although I just set it up for the coming spring/summer and we got a winter storm and so it is covered with snow.

Large hammock
You can fit your whole family on this one! Very large and thick/quilted hammock. It dries fast!!! I was worried at first but no worries mine has gotten wet many times now and had no problem drying in the sun.

comfy hammock
We find this to be a very comfortable hammock since it stays open and has the quilted thick fabric. It "sails" in a breeze if you aren't in it but we just unhook one side of it, or take it down if we aren't coming back soon. Bought the hammock straps too which are nice and long and encircle the large trees twice!

Great gift!
I bought this hammock with the stand and monogrammed pillow for my boyfriend for Father's Day. He absolutely LOVES it! So much so that he hogs it and no one else can get a chance to enjoy it :)
I did sneak a try and it is extremely comfortable. Its cushioned so no digging into the skin like the old fashioned rope hammocks. It looks terrific on our deck and I am very pleased with the quality. It was a little pricey but in this case, you really do get what you pay for. We will be enjoying this hammock for years to come!

This hammock is SO comfortable! Unlike most net hammocks, this has a smooth surface and doesn't dig into your skin. We have been taking it in after we use it because of the rains we have been having but the material seems to be quite durable. A great investment, for sure!

Disappointed customer
The Hammock looks great and is very comfortable BUT it does NOT dry fast as indicated in the product description.
We hang it between the trees in the backyard and unfortunately it rained the same day. 48 hours later in spite of the hot sunny days that followed most of the hammock was still soaked with water. Very disappointing because we do love it and want to keep but it is obvious that the hammock cannot be used for a long time after every rain unless we take it off at the very sight of any rain cloud..

The Perfect Hammock
My 12 year old son and I went to the Freeport store to purchase a traditional white rope hammock and saw this model hanging on the wall. We bought it, hung it in a screened in porch and have declared it The Perfect Hammock. The quilted fabric is wonderful and a huge improvement over the rope design. My son slept all night in the hammock last night and appears to have no future intention of returning to his own bed. We are going to have to set up a reservation system so all family members get equal access!

Got this hammock for hubby on dad's day for our lake house. It is so comfortable and attractive. We have four little ones who love it even more. We all pile on and enjoy each others company. Super comfy even for two. Was longer than expected so needed to buy LLBean's hammock stand but now we can use it anywhere- in the shade or sun. Excellent, excellent hammock. The stand is very easy to put together and the whole thing withstands strong winds. The hammock dries quite quickly. Tempted to get a second one....

Great hammock!
This is a replacement for a similar canvas hammock that purchased 3 yrs ago, but the stitching unraveled after the first 4 mos of use. I was not able to replace until now since similar hammock was not available till now! And LL Bean stood by their product and replaced as said they would when hammock was available!!
I am sooo impressed! I am hopeful this one will hold up better. It's a beautiful navy,red stripe on natural background. Even nicer in person than photo!

I'll never go back to cotton or nylon
Love this hammock!! It is incredibly comfortable and sturdy. It was a little more expensive than the cotton one I usually buy but I don't feel like I'm going to fall out, and it doesn't have that scratchy feel of the cotton or nylon rope hammocks.
