Great boots for rainy days
High quality boot like you would expect from LLBean. The fit was good and my grandson loves wearing them. At 18 months old not afraid to jump in puddles or walk through wet leaves. Keeps him dry and warm.

Toddlers' Puddle Stompers Rain Boots
Bought the butterfly print boots to match the butterfly rain jacket. The match is exact. LL Bean makes infant/toddler's items with the same quality as they do kids up to adults. The pattern is unique. I bought for a 2 year-old girl, size 6. Her mother said the fit is exact. With Bean Bucks, the price was reasonable.

Grandson loved them.
My 18 month old grandson didn’t want to take them off. He cried so hard when he couldn’t take them into bed and wanted them immediately when he woke up. The boots and matching jacket are SO cute! He had to wear his rain gear for coloring and finger painting with his jammies.

Cute rain boots run very small
Ordered the sapphire stripe for my daughter in a size 9 (she takes size 8.5 in all other shoes). They were very tight. Sizing up 2 sizes is probably a good idea. Unfortunately, the next size for her is in the kids size which isn't on sale (15.99 deal) at all, and not in the same design. Disappointed!

Daughter's favorite boot, great for puddle jumping
We bought these in March 2015 for our then 1.5yr old and she still loves these boots! She was comfortably wearing a toddler size 5 in most shoes at the time, and we kept the size 6 rain boot as it left enough room for her to grow into without flopping around on her feet. The heel never seemed to bother her, nor did she seem to even notice the added heel height. A year later, she is going into a size 7 shoe, but they still seem to fit well since she chooses these every rainy day. We bought the yellow, and they do get a lot of scuffs in the color. It's not a glossy finish, so they don't stay "new" looking for long at all. We will definitely size up when the time comes!

Heeled boots = no no
I wish I had read some of the reviews or paid more attention to the pictures...that's what I get for ordering late at night! I bought these for my toddler and while they are ADORABLE, high quality and go on his foot easy (he loved putting them on) - they have a heel, which renders them useless. He is used to being barefoot or with soft soled shoes. As soons as I put these on him, his legs were wobbling and buckling and he couldn't toddle around without falling. Such a bummer since I bought the navigator gear so it all matched. I hope they come out with toddler sizes with no heel.

Poor fit and style for toddlers
These boots barely fit over my son's ankles and calves, and he's not much above average for weight. The 1-inch heel is also ridiculous for a child. What's the point of that? My son's a great walker, but couldn't walk in these, let alone run around and play in puddles. What a disappointment.

Poor quality -- not durable!
My daughter loved these boots while they lasted, but they do not hold up! At least two things went badly wrong. The rubber cracked around the ankle -- in several spots on one boot and in just one spot on the other boot -- guaranteeing wet feet if we were doing any puddle stomping. The soft lining inside also wore down completely, which I discovered -- on a day when she had dry feet -- after she ended up with a pair of matching blisters on her heels!
We bought these boots new and my daughter is the only child who has worn them. It rains in the northeast, but not all the time, so it's not as if these were getting daily wear and tear. I certainly expected a better quality product from LLBean.
I will also concur with the other reviewers who have noted that these boots are narrow and that they have an unexpectedly big heel. I figured we could live with these imperfections because my daughter loved her boots -- but now we're definitely buying rain boots elsewhere!

Wonderful. Perhaps a bit small.
These are the perfect preschooler rain boot. However, I think they run small. Hard to say when it's not your foot in there. My child is just growing into a size 8 now. I was worried the size 8 boot might be too big. His toe goes to the end. Pretty snug, even with medium weight socks. I wish I'd bought the size 9, but I can't take them away to exchange now--he loves them!

Beyond cute! But beware!
I ordered the yellow boots in size 5 and in size 6 for our granddaughter when she was an infant two years ago. But alas, she has not been able to wear either pair as her feet are too wide. This is a situation where Bean needs to offer wide sizes at least in the toddler styles for all shoes and boots.

Kiddo loves them.
We're on our second pair of these rain boots, and my kiddo loves them. Unfortunately, both boots of this pair cracked at the ankle after eight months of wear. Our other pair lasted much longer, so I'm not sure if there was some change in the boot construction or if my son has gotten tougher on his boots as he's gotten older. Nevertheless, living in a place where it rains daily from October - April (the Pacific Northwest), I need a pair of boots that will last him the year. Overall, they're great, but they may not last as long as you'd like them too, and the description says they won't crack, and that isn't true.

Wishing for more gender-neutral options
I love these boots. My kids love these boots. We've bought many pairs of them in many sizes because they are one of the few products that are genuinely gender-neutral in design. My oldest daughter could pass the exact same boots along to her two younger brothers and we could get three kids' worth of wear out of them. I'm sad, though, that these only go up to Size 3. My daughter just grew out of hers this spring and I had to go and buy a different pair from a competitor (who carried standard yellow boots in larger sizes). I'm not going to buy floral patterns for her that her brothers won't wear. If you make a great durable product, make it in colors and styles that work for the whole family! (I would also love gender-neutral coats and other outer wear).

This boots have a heel - a rather large heel for a toddler. Ridiculous. These shoes do not encourage or support healthy foot development at all. Returning them.

Clunky
I bought a size 7 in yellow for my two and a half year old daughter. It's incredibly difficult to tell whether these fit okay or not based solely on the fact that they are pretty clunky and thick. However, her foot slides into them easily so I think they're fine. Being thick, it's difficult for her to bend her ankle to climb up or down stairs, but she seems to manage. I'm pretty sure we'll be coming back in the spring to buy another pair then.

Awesome Boots
I just ordered my granddaughter her second pair of these. We live in San Diego, CA, and while we don't get a lot of rain, we get enough but still like to go play outside. I could not find a good, affordable pair of boots out here to save my life. I have family Back East so I asked what they do for rain boots. "LL Bean!" So, I did too. And my granddaughter loved them enough to wear all the time with anything, even on sunny days. She is 2 this year, so I figured we better make sure we are ready for even more outdoor adventures! (By the way, we bought the Discovery rain pants as well.)

Wonderful Fun Boots
My Grandson Loves Gators & He so wanted a pair of "Boots" - When I saw these Puddle Stompers they fit the bill. I had written a review, but wanted to add this wonderful picture of him in his L.L. Bean Gator Rain Jacket & Boots. We finally got some rain here in San Antonio, Texas, so he put them to good use, and his Daddy sent Grandmamma this Grand picture. Both are Beautiful Lasting Quality! All-time Favorite Footwear
We received a pair of yellow puddle stompers as a gift for our daughter several years ago when she was just 1 year old. I wasn't certain she would be able to walk in them because of the heel but even in her early days of walking, they worked perfectly. We've since bought subsequent pairs in sizes 7 and 9 as she's grown and the smaller sizes have been handed down to her younger sister. They are the most durable and versatile shoes they own. They wear them year round for wet and snowy weather as well as outings to anywhere they might get especially dirty or muddy. The yellow seems to be the perfect accent for any outfit -- even little dresses. We will continue to buy these as they grow.

A staple in our wardrobe!
Sometimes, finding a deal doesn't mean finding the lowest price on an item. I purchased these boots for my (then) freshly four year old daughter when we lived in Guam. There are two seasons in Guam: wet and dry. The dry season means it only rains once a day for about an hour and a half. So you can imagine how the wet season goes!
As soon as I pulled these boots out of the box, my daughter immediately donned them (along with her new matching rain coat) and sat in the back yard waiting for that day's storm. Wouldn't you know it? We had a "drought" for three days!
My daughter is 5 1/2 now and wears these rain boots as a staple in her wardrobe. Jeans and a tank top in the summer? Must wear those bright yellow boots! Frilly skirt and cute top: rain boots. According to her fashion sense, they go with everything. I'll bet she wears these boots at least 3 or 4 times a week! I don't mind because they're very durable, and when the rain comes out of nowhere, she's the only one who is prepared! We live in Alabama now, and we have already used them pretty regularly!
I love the handles. She has never had a problem with putting these boots on. I did heed the advice of previous reviewers and purchased a full two sizes larger than her normal shoe size, so we didn't have to exchange them.
From the looks of it, the last year and a half have only left minor scuff marks on the outside, and plenty of (easily removed) dirt from normal wear. It looks like I'll be able to hand these boots over to my next daughter to wear when she gets big enough.
I'm only jealous that they don't make these boots for adults. I'd love to have a matching yellow pair so we can all be coordinated! Keep up the great work, LL Bean!

Great rain boots
I bought these boots (yellow) for my 2 year old daughter who has worn them through the season and has loved them. She is able to put them on and off easily herself with the handles.
We walk daily to a muddy off-leash dog park and they keep her feet warm and dry. When she grows out of them we will be buying the next size up. They are a great boot.

My son LOVES these boots!
No sooner had I opened the box when my 2yr-old grabbed one and shoved his foot in it! The "handles" on the sides make it easy to pull them on. They must be comfortable because he never wants to take them off!
