Our heaviest-weight flannel. Made of thick chamois fabric that's warmer than ordinary flannel, it's a shirt, light jacket and essential layer all in one.
When our founder, Leon Leonwood Bean, developed this shirt more than 90 years ago, durability was the goal. Then as now, the 100% cotton shirt is brushed for exceptional softness and warmth. Tall Size or lack thereof
L L Bean no longer manufactures size "Tall". I've just received 2 of these shirts from my wife, but just like their "Polo's" the "Tall" just doesn't exist. For reference, I am 6ft 2in and weight 200. I buy a large Tall elsewhere and they fit great. I bought Bean size Large Tall years ago, (still have some) and they fit great, but not anymore!

Warm and Attractive
I probably have around ten of these shirts with my latest two bought on sale now. I wear them over a Bean river driver shirt every day from fall to spring for a warm and snug feel. You can't find this quality material, tailoring and rich coloration anywhere else,especially for the price.

The best winter shirt ever!
I bought my first LL Bean chamois shirt in 1972 when I lived in Freeport. After all these years this is still my favorite shirt and is still top quality in all ways. With a good base layer, a cup of coffee and this shirt you can sit outside as the sun rises and enjoy the birds in comfort.

Poorly put together!
This shirt was the worst shirt I’ve ever bought! The right sleeve was 3/4” shorter than the left and one chest pocket was 1” higher than the other! Sounds unbelievable for an expensive shirt from LLBean doesn’t it!

Not the same
I have 3 Bean chamois shirts. They have been go-to's mostly due to the fabric's plushness ; soft feel and heavy, just right for cool and cold weather.
I went to local LL Bean store yesterday expecting to purchase a different color (deep brown) to be worn with same satisfaction as my previous shirts. The website said the color was in-store, but it was not. Ok, mistakes occur. I did look at the other colors, however, only to be quite disappointed . These shirts are NOT THE SAME as your previous Bean champois's. The fabric is both thinner and coarse to the feel.
Will not order on line, which I would have done had I not seen thses shirts in-person. I have seen reviews with similar comments. I hope you will take these observations seriously and get back to the quality that gave you success.

The BEST flannel shirts, ever!
I have worn L.L. Bean chamois shirts since my Pennsylvania father-in-law gave me one in 1978. I purchased a new charcoal heather one last year before our family spent Christmas in a London townhouse with spotty heating. I essentially wore it every day. The cloth is thick, soft and comfortable. I’ve worn them by themselves or as an over garment. I’m getting a new one in Black Watch plaid this fall.

My husband has had these shirts for years and years and years and we keep buying them and buying them and buying them so I think that pretty much answers the question of how we feel about them. He wore them before they were trendy and he will wear them after they go out of fashion. He’s a chamois shirt guy. This is where we would buy them.

Have the standard size dimensions changed?
I ordered a medium sized, rergular shirt. When I put it on for the first time it was immediately evident that the size was other than normal as the sleeves not only felt much longer but when measured and against my otther Chamois shirts are 1 1/2in. longer. Shoulder width is also 1 1/2in. greater.

Fourth one
This is my fourth Bean Chamois shirt, so yes I like them. My go to shirt from fall through early spring, it’s the thickest and warmest non-insulated shirt I have. Definitely a full, loose cut but not baggy looking, there’s a slimmer cut version too but I haven’t tried it. They get softer with each wash and last forever.

Terrible quality compared to the maroon shirt
I own this shirt in navy and my husband owns it in red. They are such good quality I bought it in maroon and gray. The maroon shirt matches the great quality of my navy and red but the gray one is AWFUL! It feels cheap and is pilling. I am sending it back.
