Cabin Cozy Feeling!

Warmest down quilt
This quilt was exactly as advertised, It is the warmest I have, and when twinned with a Pendleton wool blanket and a locally purchased down quilt with less fill, is keeping me warm through a tough winter. It does have a plasticy finish, but it doesn't affect me because I bought a quilt cover. It does not feel thicker when you unpack it, but it is quite warm.

some downsides of a down comforter
not quite as lofty, and as warm, as I thought, it might be, and the covering, the clearly down proof, is a little bit crinkly sounding. I worry that down will become batted flatter over time. at this price I’m thinking there should be more fill?

Very warm, but fabricate is stiff and crunchy
The fabric sounds like paper, it makes more noise than any blanket, comforter or bed cover I have ever had. I purchased a comforter cover, it helps. The comforter I received does not seem usable without a cover, it is too stiff, sort of crunchy, and noisy. It’s the king size permabaffle. I hope over time it will get softer, but the way it is now, I don’t recommend it.

Great purchase!
I was freezing to death in my drafty room with my mid-weight comforter. Purchased this and it solved the problem! Very nice item, fits well with my existing duvet cover, and I am now warm again.

very warm goose down comforter
This goose down comforter from LLBean is great . I can stay warm at night even if the temperature inside the house is set to a cool 68 degrees. I turn the temp up during the day to stay comfortable during the day .

Perfection
I was looking for a comforter that had the right amount of weight and warmth, and this is perfect. For me it’s not just about loft, but the fill weight is a factor. I tried 2 other brands before finding this one. The others were high quality but just felt too light. This one isn’t necessarily heavy but just feels more substantial. We don’t need any blankets on the bed now that we have this. I love this comforter.

This Comforter Proves Why It's Called a Comforter.
Arrived just in time. Our building's boiler was broken and we had no heat. Even though our apartment was cold, we were very warm under this comforter. And, when one needs to speak with LL Bean customer service, that's a good experience in and of itself. Real people, acting like real people. No computers and no computer-acting people.

Cozy without weight!
I’ve wanted a down duvet for so long! Last fall they were sold out of this one, so when I saw it was available in spring I decided to order it. Very high-quality. The ties and buttonholes are perfect. The label mystified me and I called customer service about it. The label says 75% down, but it does not mention the other 25%, Customer service told me: 75% is goose down clusters and 25% is goose down. That should be on the label. Otherwise I am very happy with it and with the duvet cover, pillowcases, and shams that I ordered from L.L. Bean as well. I it is almost too warm to use in Oregon now but I will use it as long as I can! I got the warmer version. It is like sleeping in an expensive hotel.

Warm and Cozy
This comforter has worked out perfectly for us. After reading all of the reviews about how loud it was, I was nervous. We use a duvet cover, so that may be why it doesn't seem overly loud to us. It is a great mix of weight, warmth, and coziness. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for their next comforter.

The Queen of Comforters
For those of you who enjoy a light sweat when you sleep, there is no better comforter on the market. Mine came in a creamy duffle bag with a string pull, with just enough down flying free upon opening to make you know that you got the real deal. No poor stitching or holes in the fabric, just enough loose down to give you a reason to vacuum the bedroom after a month or so of divine sleep. The comforter lofts well, and gives a very satisfying pillowy look to any cover. I bought mine with two shams and take great satisfaction in making my bed now, which is quite easy as I smooth the fitted sheet, pull up the flat, and straighten the comforter over my Queen size firm Original Mattress Factory mattress and three inch foam cover to take the edge off. The shams are complemented with lime green piped pillows to add a finishing touch, also from LLBean. Good sleep should be one third of your life, so don't cheat yourself with a substandard mattress or bedding. This comforter is worth every wheat penny I spent, so even though my second stimulus check was exhausted by this purchase, the choice was a wise one. With proper care, this purchase should last a lifetime, so go for it, and rest well knowing that your money was well spent. Lower your thermostat at night to 67F or lower, you won't even notice.

Clumps and goes flat after one season of use
I’ve had this for barely three years now and started to notice the dramatic shift in fill after one season of use. But now it is complete flat and empty feeling in multiple areas and other areas have large deposits of full that no matter how much I shake it or put it in the drier it doesn’t help. I treated myself when I purchased this and for what I paid I’m sadly disappointed it provides little warmth and hasn’t held up at all. I’ve been an LLBean customer my whole life and this is not the level of quality I have come to know. Would definitely not recommend. Wish I could exchange it, but the returns policy isn’t what it used to be either.

Very warm and heavy
We purchased a king sized permabaffle box goose down comforter, warmer for our upstate NY winters. When we received it, we took it out of the packaging and tried to adjust it every other day so it could get back to it’s appropriate loft. So far, it’s nice, heavy, and warm. I have adjusted the thermostat to make our bedroom cooler so i don’t throw off the comforter at night.

Ready for New England winter!
I love this comforter/duvet insert. I needed a new one to replace my 20 year old one (not from LL Bean), and I spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at a lot of different brands. This one was the most expensive, but I really wanted the Permabaffle design, so I crossed my fingers and bought it. Good call, me. It fills out my duvet cover perfectly. Some companies only sell a Full/Queen comforter instead of separate sizes, and those don't work well with a Queen duvet cover. I'm in New England, so already using it. I've had it for 3-4 weeks now. No loose feathers, no flatness - just warm, weightless, fluffy perfection. I never thought I'd be so excited about bedding, but here we are. I have every expectation that I'll get 20 years or more out of it.
