Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too large I usually wear a large and this is a great coat and well made, but the coat size is a little bit larger than the standard large size. The shoulders are a little bit too large and the sleeves are a little bit too long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good looking and great quality My husband absolutely loves his barn jacket. The quality is very good and it is a very attractive jacket. He can use it for light chores outside, or on a crisp day, and will look good in it every time he wears it. I expect it will last many years, and never go out of style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coat No. 4 I bought this particular coat at the end of winter so haven't worn it yet. But I keep getting pinged by LL Bean to give a review so here it goes. This coat is No. 4. Over that last 30 years I have bought 4 of these field coats. 4 over 30 years. So yeah, I think I will like this one just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men's Original Field coat a winner Love these coats. Owned roughly a dozen of these coats over the years. Please brong back the clay and navy colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really good coat I have two. One with wool lining, one with flannel lining. A good product at a good price. Please consider offering this in jacket length: ending about where the lower pockets end. And with the flannel lining. Maybe a bi-swing back. I’ll need both colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Field Coat - High Quality For the Price. Excellent quality and durability. I replaced my old coat which I owned for over 15 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indestructible Comfortable and warm!! I have owned another one of these and they are almost indestructible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coat. It is a perfect winter coat. I wore it all over Europe. It was comfortable and warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat! Great winter coat! Very warm and extremely durable. The sizing runs big (I bought a large, and probably should have went with the medium) but overall a great winter coat

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second field is just as great as the first was This is my second field coat. The first one only lasted twenty five years! Wasn't sure about going with the wool liner or the cotton. Decided on the wool and absolutely glad I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic My second one of these coats. Classic design and I love the wool liner

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not the same old coat but OK I have had these field coats for over 50 years. I miss the shell loops and game pouch (which was great for smuggling beers in college!). Now the fabric is lower quality--not as hard a finish. The buttons are sewed on with inferior thread and I expect them to begin failing (hint: back the buttons with a button inside). I like the liner especially because the coat is not as warm. The pockets aren't as deep; even the breast pocket won't hold sunglasses. This makes it less functional for carrying and accessing shotgun shells. Although the old ones didn't have it, an inside pocket, maybe just in the liner, would be a welcome addition. Like everthing else, LL Bean's quality is degrading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best all round coat ever This is my second field coat. Using the old one for the ice rink I work at, and the new one for jeeping around in. Best coat I ever owned!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I need two of these coats. Perfect barn and field coat. XL Tall is allows for perfect, generous fit. Rugged and snugly at the same time. Olive green is a beautiful color. I have two of these coats, one for heavy duty work and one for lighter work that is not so beaten up. Soon, I will order a third, once you have my size available in tan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank You LLBean!! I have owned an LL Bean Field Coat for many years and it was worn out. I was glad to see that the original design was back in stock and purchased one in December. Thank you LL Bean!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT COAT As is typical and expected of all Bean products, this coat is high quality, durable, fits well, is very comfortable, and is good looking.I have one in each color, and I couldn't ask for more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Replacement, But… I purchased this coat to replace one my husband had been wearing for about 20 years. There are two things that I’m not happy with. The old barn coat had a quilted lining with a flannel layer towards the body. The new lining is thinner and not quilted. The other thing is the collar on the new coat is corduroy and is shedding all over the coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement Had a Bean Barn Coat for years and loved it. Then I retired from workout, apparently not from eating and well that old barn coat needed replacing so to goodwill it went. And I missed it, so to Bean's for a new one. and just like the old one with its inner liner it will be perfect on a cold winter day. I love it and it fits!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Returned to My Favorite I had one of these for many years until I got too big for it. I purchased a replacement from another well known outfitter…just not the same. I’ve purchased the Bean field coat and I love it for all the same reasons as before!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What I Needed I needed a casual coat for variable cool to moderately cold temperatures, and this met my needs. Appreciate the traditional fit that allows for layering; too many LL. Bean coats these days are the slightly flitted cut that just don’t work for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Cold Weather Coat I Own Fantastic product. Exactly what I expected and it meets my needs perfectly. Fit seems true size and quality is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Standout and dependable coat An amazingly functional, dependable coat. Great in almost all weather (including a shocking amount of rain), durable enough for chores, but sharp enough for some occasions if clean. Really fantastic

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The mens they will love.❤️ I saw this mens coat on line and bought for my son. Exactly what he wanted. Beautifully made with care. The liner inside is removable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warmth Great jacket, fits well. It could be warmer, the thinsulate lining in the sleeves should also be in the body of the coat. The lining plus the wool layer would make a warmer jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timeless menswear I appreciate timeless, understated, and practical clothing. To own a historic jacket adds to the excitement of ownership, I feel like this jacket will always be relevant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ol' Reliable Comfortable, warm, functional and stylish! My first "Field Coat"is thread bare but after about 15 years remains in service. Other people often stop me and say "I like that coat". I decided it's time to buy a replacement for formal occasions.
