This classic everyday sweater was inspired by our own iconic rugby shirts. Casual and comfortable, in an ultrasoft blend of 95% cotton with 5% cashmere for a luxurious feel.
These versatile layers may look like sweaters, but they feel as comfortable as your favorite sweatshirt. We designed them in a smooth, machine-washable cotton blend with a bit of cashmere for noticeable softness. Midweight construction makes them easy to wear year-round.

Comfortable and Versatile

Beautiful sweater; buttons hard to fasten
Beautiful sweater and it fit my husband well. However, the button closings seemed to be cut too small and it has an odd button closure flap that makes it very hard to button.

Very Pleased!
I have 4-5 other L.L. Bean rugby pullovers, and this one (5% cashmere) is a real gem. I purchased the multi-color (including white) narrow stripped pattern, as for me it is striking and I envision wearing it on a special occasion or holiday. It seemed a heavy weight out of the box, and XL is a good fit for me plus it is very soft & stretchy too. Of course the sleeves require a mild roll up (no alteration for me), and I will use enhanced care for washing. I see in my crystal ball... first wearing this very nice looking sweater at Christmas time, thank you!

Great sweater! My wife and I are full time liveaboard boaters on Puget Sound and this is the perfect 3-season weight. Really soft with a great fabric texture as well. Casual but it’ll get you into any restaurant that doesn’t require a coat and tie.
