Classic design. Often imitated, never duplicated.
I've owned at least six pairs over my lifetime. Great for wet, muddy weather. They hold up well. My last pair was worn over 100 times walking the dog through the woods at approximately four miles per time. That's over 1,000,000 flexes for the rubber bottoms. They were approximately 1/2 worn out and began to separate at the rubber/leather joint. I am having them resoled.

Seem like decent year-round boots so far
Seems waterproof so far — we had a nasty snow/rain storm and I was shoveling in about an inch or more of water. These held up nicely, hoping to get many years of use! I got the uninsulated ones for year-round use and I was a bit worried they wouldn’t be warm enough in winter, but even in 20 degree weather and normal socks they are solid. As long as they hold up the way Bean Boots should, I’ll be very happy.

I have been wanting a pair of BEAN BOOTS for a while and finally pulled the trigger on the 8" uninsulated boot . I normally wear a size 12 but in this boot I ordered a size 11 per the recomendations from the folks at L.L. BEAN . I am using a thick sock and this boot fits like a glove . I still have about an inch and a half in the toe area and the standard width is adequate . This boot is comfortable right out of the box and I can see it's going to break in nicely . Quality is superb and this boot exudes fine craftsmanship . The leather smells like a saddle shop and is beautiful . Suffice it to say I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to using these boots for years to come .

Excellent, classic boots, great for cold weather as well as cold, wet weather. My son got these by request as he spends a lot of time in our unheated garage, and these keep his feet warm and comfortable. He's very happy with these boots.

25 years ago I was right out of school and wearing bright white sneakers with my suit to walk to work in NYC. I came in to work one morning and there was a brand new pair of 6" Bean boots on my chair. The guy next door who was my dad's age had taken pity and decided I looked like a fool and needed proper footwear. He said they were a gift on the condition that I wore dress shoes on nice days, the Bean boots on inclement days and threw out the sneakers. He said they would last forever and after 25 years, the only sign of wear is in the soles, yet they still have years of life ahead of them. Stopping by a Bean store, I decided to pick up a pair of these 8" boots for clearing larger snowfalls and they are as amazing as ever. Incredible quality, do exactly what they are meant to do in an understated, yet oddly stylish way, are US made and built to actually last a lifetime in reality, not just in a marketing tagline. These are the only boots you will ever need to buy in your lifetime and they would be a bargain at 3 times the price. There are few things in life you can say this about. Do not hesitate to buy these.

Good Style, good fit, good boots.
As per fitting instructions, the boots fit me perfectly. My only concern is that because the boots are not insulated, the boots are cold while wearing them outside.
Good wicking ski socks helped keep my feet warmer.

They're so-so
I give 5 stars for products that are truly excellent, but these are fine, they're acceptable, they get a passing grade, thus 3 stars. Why cut corners, though? Why use such thin, cheap laces? To save a penny? Why not use better shoe inserts -- how much was saved by using what's essentially a piece of cardboard? And since the sizing is notoriously non-standard, why not put a stop to the way it's always been and have them sized to industry norms? I don't know why so many things have to be manufactured as cheaply as possible -- do you think that we would object to paying, say, 10% more for a truly exceptional product? Can't you offer boots in narrow widths -- the National Shoe Retail Assoc says that nearly 35% of the population has narrow-width feet. I had hoped that Bean would be different, but sadly they're not.

A Fit for Life
These classic boots have kept our family of 7 warm and cozy on our jaunts through the woods behind our house, the TN and NC mountains, and Citadel football games, as well as making star appearances in our annual Mepkin Abbey Christmas Creche Festival boot picture. They fit well, feel good, and last forever. I have the ones my children have outgrown and am keeping them for when the grandbabies' feet are big enough to wear them.

A consistent old standard.
Fit is true to size, I’m glad I didn’t size down as recommended. I’ve been wearing Bean boots for forty years and this pair doesn’t disappoint. There is no seam in the back anymore which eliminates the rubbing on my heel making them so much more comfortable! I wear them all year round.

Inaccurate Size
I wear 13 1/2 Wide shoes. I originally ordered a pair of these boots in 12 W - they were too short (length) and too narrow. I gave them to our son. I ordered 13 W - and they were HUGE, unwearable, regardless of the number of sole inserts and thickness of socks I wore. The quality was good. I returned them. There shouldn't be that much difference between. Please fix this, LL Bean.
