The Maine-made, weather-ready Rubber Moc customers love, now even more comfortable and durable - and in half sizes too!

  • For this style, we recommend you order a full size down from your regular shoe size. For example, if you normally wear a size 9, order a size 8.

In 1912, when 90 of his first 100 pairs of boots sold were returned, our founder, L.L., sent out refunds and fixed the problem. We've followed in his footsteps, listening to customers and making improvements while staying true to everything that makes Bean Boots legendary. Best of all, they're still sewn right here in Maine - one pair at a time - by expert craftspeople. Whoever says, "they don't build things like they used to," doesn't own a pair of these.

  • Iconic chain-tread outsole is now made from a longer-lasting rubber.
  • Convenient slip-on style with rawhide laces to adjust fit.
  • Uniquely shaped foot form offers comfort and stability, and a steel shank adds support.
  • Upgraded dual-density insole offers enhanced comfort and cushion all day long.
  • Waterproof rubber boot bottom keeps feet dry.
  • Innovative triple-needle stitching provides long-lasting durability.
  • Updated high-quality supple leather upper gets better with time.
  • Best for rain, mud and other wet conditions.
  • Waterproof up to 1 cm below the top of the rubber.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from My Bad The second attempt at a good fit did not work. Have to stuff cotton in toe and ware two pairs of socks. Normally I ware 10 wide. My guess is that a 8 1/2 regular (or even narrow?) would have been better. But, I wore them and so I'll have to live with them. And based on the quality I guess they will last longer than me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty comfortable. This is my second pair of Rubber Mocs. They are comfortable and easy on and off. My only dislike about these shoes is their width. By the time I tighten the laces enough to keep them on my feet the tongue of the shoe wads up. It can be uncomfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great winter shoes I've worn these shoes for years and think they are outstanding for winter wear in snow and ice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men’s Rubber Gum Sole Mocs I purchased these for walking my dog in rainy weather. I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than a dress shoe and needed a full size smaller. Exchange by mail was easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and great sevice! I bought the brown and tan rubber bean boots for my husband. He wears them almost all the time outside for gardening and most everything else. He has had several pairs and some from other stores but these from LL bean fit the best. I'm especially pleased with the service and ease of returning things.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Generally nice shoe for camping and yard work. My only complaint about this shoe is the heel on the sole is so narrow. I’ve been close to rolling my ankle too often with these shoes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from These run VERY large, size down 1.5 - 2 sizes! This work but I am on my second pair after exchanging the first and they are still way too big. I wear a 10 sneaker, 9 loafer and a 9.5 shoe, almost always. I am down to a 8.5 in these after exchanging them and they are still much to big. I will have to go down at least a half and maybe a full size to get this to fit. So finding the size appropriate for me has been challenging. I wear medium wool socks - not dress sock thin, not mountain hiking thick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all weather shoe Great, comfortable fit. Good sole traction. Very durable. Last pair is over 20 years old and was worn a lot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crazy Sizing System Baffles Me I wear size 11 6E width in other brands. Heeding the warnings for this shoe I dropped down to size 9 wide. Didn’t help—my heel was slipping out. I returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice shoes I’ve always worn 8.5 US, so I ordered 7.5 on the mimics. Perfect fit with thin socks. I also have 6” Bean boots that I ordered an 8 US. Perfect fit with thick winter socks for Michigan winters. Leather tops are very stiff when new. I used “Brooks Proofide” leather treatment that Brooks recommends for their leather saddles, worked it in really good and flexed leather throughout process. Did a great job. Still stiff, but not nearly and nothing that wearing them and breaking in won’t solve. Great shoes. Probably last a lifetime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rubber Moc Men's are what you need Thanks to Charlottesville store personnel, I got the perfect fit (they run big). Very comfortable w/o socks, just what I needed for early morning dog walks in wet grass. Classic: I recall a hockey club teammate with a pair ~50 yrs ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ducks Have had ducks for years… always a great shoe… but when you order, order a size smaller than regular shoes

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too stiff for old feet. I should not complain about the weight and stiffness of these shoes because those issues are only indicative of them being well made and made to last. Still as an older man with tender feet, I might have to find someone to break them in for me. I had ll bean boots for years as a young man but don’t remember the discomfort of stiffness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most versatile shoes in my closet I’m really impressed with quality and versatility of these Mocs. They are stylish enough to wear out on rainy days and functional enough to travel with easily. They are very comfortable and great value for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought again I bought my first pair of these mocs 20 years ago and still wear them, but thought it was time for an upgrade so I bought another pair to keep at my side door. Quality is top notch. I mean, seriously, who else has a pair of shoes that lasts for 20 years???

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly as I remembered! I have been looking for my “duck shoes” for years. They are exactly as what I remembered! Due to a foot injury years back, the right shoe rubbed painfully despite trying out different sizes and thick socks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chain tread The quality workmanship is there. However the "chain tread" is MUCH too shallow. They wear out too quickly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t buy this Does not fit, though tried larger and smaller sizes at a store before buying online. Heels lift out of shoe no matter what fix attempted. Lacing makes no sense.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of a kind shoe for duck hunting! Sizing is weird. I almost always need 9. For this crazy shoe I’m wearing 7.5!!! A 7 might have worked better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second pair-great yard shoe Great quality long lasting. As others have mentioned sizing is an issue. I needed 2 sizes smaller than normal shoe size. Best to try-on if possible before purchasing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs a Slimmer, Lighter Design to Feel the Earth Great idea and I have bought them twice before; however, having lived with this model for 20 + years, it needs to be redesigned. It's too heavy and too clunky. Totally overbuilt for the purpose intended. It should be based on Bean's original Maine boot, featuring a much lighter rubber shoe and sole. It would then be an ideal wet environment moc you could slip on and feel the earth beneath your feet.. the

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sizing is horrible Followed the instructions and ordered one size down as the website states. I am usually a 9.5 so I ordered an 8.5 and they are at least 2 sizes too large.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Size guild Sizes run very large. You have to buy at least 2 sizes down, per my experience

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Kicks for a Wet Day The reviewers in March 2024 all make good points. The boots are a little loose in the heel even when worn with thick socks. Just don't expect to climb a mountain in them. Stick to slogging around in the street, the yard, or a field. They are very comfortable, functional, practical for light duty walking/working. The updated footbed allows for more control to help compensate for the loose fit. But do heed the sizing recommendations. Order a full size down, and get yourself some soft, heavy socks. The materials and the construction? : Superb and classically keeping with the Bean legacy.
