Perfect sweatshirt for me
I like everything about this sweatshirt but it took me a couple of days to get used to the texture, that I think of as 'knitted flannel.' Because it could appear 'slightly pilled' when new, I wondered if it will pill very quickly, especially in spots where there is friction, but it does not. I've worn it quite a few times already and washed and dried it and detect no change. The mauve color is more of a warm, light chocolate brown. I'm 100% happy with it.

Disappointed
This is the 4th zip up sweatshirt I have purchased through Bean. Each had slightly different sizing however this was the worst. This one had a different zipper, shorter body and looked like very poor quality and construction. I was very disappointed.

It is a good weight and the blue-green is very neutral. Because it was advertised as "generous fit" and I usually wear a medium, I ordered small and it fits perfectly.

Worth buying
Very soft material. Looks good on. The only negative I have is the hole in the cuff to put your thumb through. That is not useful for me. I just ignore it but prefer it wasn't there.

Cozy Comfort
I was in store picking up something for my husband and by chance, happened to notice this sweatshirt on the rack near the door as we entered and tried it on in black. Boy was I wowed! So incredibly soft and cozy! I had bought a black zippered one in another brand but the cuffs were very wide. This fit perfectly, even though it was a regular and I usually get a petite at LL Bean. I wasn't sure about the cuffs which have those holes for your thumbs, but it worked out fine even if I don't put my thumb through. Can't notice it, truly. It does have zippered pockets but they are hard to notice in the black fabric, which is fine but the angle of them is a little high up or something so getting my phone in or out took bit of fidgeting. Nevertheless, phones fit just fine and I absolutely love this jacket (not calling it a sweatshirt)..for me, it's a nice quality, lightweight, soft jacket. Nice finishing touch to any casual outfit!

Versatile sweatshirt
Nice weight, unusual pocket placement, far back and awkward. Color (green) is a bit drab and hard to match with other colors. I wish women had nice color selection like the menswear, women's is always pastel or drab. Quality is always good, but colors are very so-so.

I love it!
I fell in love with the sea green color, and the absence of a hood, and the full zip. I shopped around for something similar at a lower price, but found nothing, so I ordered it, and am very happy. I've worn it 10 times already. It's warmer than I thought it would be, and very comfortable in the mid 60s desert SW, with a thermal shirt under. I bought my usual size. The zip pockets are a nice touch, although I do wish they were not set on the side seams - too hard to reach.

Great sweatshirt, with two caveats
I am love the fabric, the weight, the mock neck, and the fact I could get something in black that fits most of my needs. Now, for my caveats to that sentiment:
The pocket placement is horrible, and the opening is far too small! i can't reach them naturally and have to contort myself to get the zippers up or down and get my hand in the pocket; even then, they are only useful for holding things; I frequently keep my hands in my sweatshirt pockets for whatever reason, and these are so unnaturally placed that I just won't be able to do that. So awkward, it makes me regret taking the tags off and keeping it.
The other issue I have is that I frequently push my sleeves up or fold them to my elbows when working outside, doing dishes, simply washing my hands in bathroom, or whatever else. There is a seam at the wrist that is so incredibly and unnecessarily tight that I can't push my sleeves up without ripping that seam (very tempting) or cutting off my circulation. There is a thumbhole if you need it, so that would do that work of keeping the sleeves in place if it felt the binding was too loose. I don't have this problem with any of the quilted sweatshirts, or the super soft sweats line, so this was an unpleasant surprise. This design seems to have been completely untested, which is not what I thought this company was about. if you made the full zip quilted sweatshirt in black I would have bought that instead, but mistakenly thought this would be a great alternative since it will securely hold my stuff in the zip pockets while gardening, walking the dog, etc.

Great except for one thing
Lightweight and classic, just dressy enough to wear to the movies or a casual restaurant. My one complaint, and the reason I am returning it, is that the stitching that joins the cuff to the sleeve doesn't have any give or stretch, and that made it difficult to wear over a long-sleeved tee. Also I wish it had pockets!

Strange fit and poor zippers
What has happened, LL Bean? I wear petite sizes and generally love what I buy from Bean (and I buy a lot) but the sleeves on this garment are tight and way too long. The body is shorter than expected and the side pockets were hard to get to (too far back) and the zippers were flimsy. It's going back and I am so disappointed because I loved the pale green color. This item may look good on someone else's body type but not on mine.

Nice Style but the Quality has Gone Way Down
I have been buying from LLBean for over 30 years. I really, really like their cozy sweatshirts and I own several from previous years. I recently ordered this in the Black. I like that it has the thumb holes. I love the concept of this design - it is great. However, the material is really thin and flimsy. The zippers on the front and the zippers on the pockets are such cheap, poor quality. I was struggling with them and the sweatshirt is brand new. LLBean - shame on you for charging $79 for this lack of quality material. If the material were as great as it used to be, I would keep it. However now, it is not worth the money. I sadly sent it back.

Disappointing sweatshirt
For the high price tag of almost $80.00, this is a giant disappointment. The one I received (Mauve) had a defect right on the front, a white discoloration, that stood out terrible. The sleeves are really long (and that's coming from a taller woman with long arms) and narrow. I don't have big arms and it was a bit of a struggle to pull it on over a Pima long sleeve tee. I also didn't find this sweatshirt to be a relaxed fit. And the worse part is the chintzy zipper. This is going back.
