good coat but with some annoying shortcomings
the coat itself is warm and light. The problem is
the design (and lack of ) pockets. There are only two pockets and they are extremely SHALLOW. I lost already both my phone and vallet as they simply fell out from the pocket.
In addition there is NO breast pocket - which would be very useful especially if they
would have a zip. My old (30 y old!) LLBean coat had really good pockets and I miss them badly.

A super warm & cozy parka for a super cold weather
A super warm and cozy parka. This paraka is not meant for mild and not too cold weather, rather it is super good for very, very cold weather. I am sure this one will also last for 10 years for me, as the previous one did.

My Husband Loves this Down Parka!
Purchased this as a holiday gift for him, but gave it to him today. This early winter's been particularly cold in Michigan. He's 6' so I ordered the Tall XL to give him extra length for additional coverage. He's particularly happy with the inner zip pocket in the side pockets with the snap closer. He says the jacket is very warm and much ligther weight than his traditional winter jackets. He couldn't be happier!

My main coat in Cleveland Ohio, long and warm
Love this coat! Considered much more expensive coats but I'm glad that I didn't for a few reasons unrelated to the cost. 1) longer coat, those are rare finds for men 2) it's a warm coat for that reason and the down fill 3) a fave shade of green 4) very comfy soft interior 5) the double pockets (zips) are perfect for keys and dog bags 6) LL Bean medium tall is my perfect size at 6'2" 190 with long arms. If I only had one coat for my life in Cleveland, this would be it.

Impressively warm and dry in NE winters
Wore this and a long-sleeve t-shirt in 11 degree weather (-6 with wind chill) with ice and snow on the ground after the big Feb snowstorms. Barely felt a chill. Been out regularly in 20 degree weather wearing the same and felt nothing. What else is there to say?

There are a lot of parkas out there with fancy marketing and “tech” but LLBean delivers again with a quality product at a reasonable price that can’t be beat! I ordered the tall version to get a little more coverage on my legs when walking the dog in the morning and it fits perfectly

Great winter coat
Purchased this mountain parka just a week before a large snowstorm with subsequent frigid temperatures hit central PA. The Mountain Parka met all winter challenges beautifully. It was air tight, warm, and wind resistant. I liked it so much I ordered one for my wife and she loves hers. Great coat, I highly recommend it!

Overall, not worth the price
Parka looks nice, and is warm. I've had it a short time and insulation filler starting to come through the outside layer of the jacket at different areas on the coat. Pockets are too small to carry much, without items falling out.

Zipper problem
Color was great. Coat was warm. But the zipper didn't work. It appears to be missing the bottom tab. Needed the coat right away so kept it. Will have to replace zipper. Bad news for a new coat

Not wind protective.
Liked the jacket but the day I wore it the weather was 30 degrees & windy. The wind went right thru the jacket. Bean's Wind Challenger Stretch Down Jacket would be better for windy/cold days, But for $149.00 more dollars, not a good value.

Doesn't Stand Up To Wind Well.
Overall this is a good run to the store to get groceries type of coat. The one drawback Ive found with it and its a big one for the area that I live in, is its not very good at keeping the wind at bay. It cuts right into it. On the positive I love its length, the style and its color.

Parka for daily use
The parka is warm and is comfortable and serves it purpose during last month cold snap , I received many compliments about it’s look and fit.
I have the following nuisances as I frequently wear the parka to take out and walk my dogs
I had to exchange for a larger size, from medium to large for better fit of sleeves.
Now I have a little bulk that forms at the chest level.
Snap button are difficult to operate, would benefit of a larger size button
Zipper is difficult to bring to the top end often gets tangled with inner cloth, and does not close all the way interference with neck and chin, may be if I had a longer neck!
Lower zipper does not open smoothly

Good value and construction, for cost.
Warm, water resistant coating. Snaps holding hood on coat come apart. (Could have done better.) Extra inside pocket. Dries quick. (Just shake water off and line dry.). Wear down sweater underneath when temp. Is below 20 degrees. Wind resistant. I normally wear large, but ordered XL. Long waist. I am worried about zipper, wait and see. Color is ok. Not interested in paying more than $200 for down coat I will only wear a few times.

Mountain Classic Down Parka, Close, But No Cigar!
This is a good parka, but it could be better. I have had the Mountain Classic Anorak for over 5 years and it is my go-to coat when it's cold. As this coat is in the Mountain Classic family, I thought it would be as good. Both the Anorak and Parka are "slightly fitted" which is their biggest problem. I am 74 years old, 6'2" tall and around 190 lbs. I have been buying Large Tall garments from LLB for over 50 years, and never had a problem, size-wise, until "slightly fitted" was introduced. If something, like the Anorak and Parka are only offered in "slightly fitted", invariably, when I buy them in Large Tall, I have to send them back to exchange for Extra Large Tall. If a garment is offered in "traditional fit", I always buy it in that fit, and never have to send it back. When I bought the Parka before Christmas, they were out of Extra Large Tall's, but I took a chance, but had to send it back.
As far as this Parka, beside the "slightly fitted" conundrum, a few suggestions:
1. Slash pockets, too shallow, stuff can fall out, not too practical, as presently offered. Make them deeper and larger, so they can hold gloves and a flashlight for 5am dog walking.
2. Cell phone pocket, put it on the outside of Parka like on other LLB coats, so phone is easily accessible. It is currently on the inside and the coat has to be opened to the cold to get to your phone. Inconvenient.
3. Snaps are hard to snap and unsnap, unlike snaps on other LLB outerwear. Needs easier snaps, especially for cold weather and cold fingers!
4. Material, I like the material, it is the same as in the Anorak. Has a nice feel and is down-proof,
5. Hood and Zipper, both good, and two-way Zipper is great for driving a car! Both Parka and Anorak are well constructed, quality garments!

Bought this jacket for a homeless man in the area. Got an extra large (way too big) because he wanted to be able to fit some of his thinner jackets and sweaters under it (so as not to have to carry them).
