Was NOT Bean’s advertised standard fit
My husband really needed a swimsuit before our upcoming cruise. Now it’s too late, as this XL was too large, but the Large is bound to be too tight. The waist draw cord made no difference, leaving a gap at the back of his waist, The main problem is that my husband has a low waste (and flat behind), so Bean’s pants and jeans in their specific Standard cut are what fit him well. This pair of trunks was made for a higher waist, with the liner brief being way too low for him as well. We are extremely disappointed that Bean described this as being their Standard fit, when I think it was more their higher waisted classic fit.

Swim trunks with stretch
My husband bought these and really likes that the fabric stretches and the liner is a mesh boxer brief. In the pool, the shorts filled with air bubbles but once he pushed them out, the trunks were comfortable.

New favorite trunks
I spent a good amount of time shopping around online at some of the more hip swim trunk makers. I really liked the idea of a boxer brief liner and stretch fabric. Still I was hesitant due to sizing and length. I decided to check out LL Bean and saw that they offered these, which ticked my boxes and came from a brand whose sizing I’m pretty familiar with. They’re on the pricy side, but no worse than the other options I was looking at, so I decided I decided to grab a pair. When I received them, I tried them on and immediately ordered another pair in a different color. These shorts are awesome. Super comfortable, good length for my long legs, and good fit around my hips and thighs. My wife even commented how they looked a lot less baggy than other swim trunks I own.

I like my new swim trunks
I have been using these in the Clifton Park YMCA pool. They fit great and are easy to get on and off. I also like the waist tie on this pair than my previous ones. I think the color is more durable and less likely to fade, which happened to my previous pair. I bought the XL and the fit is right. I would recommend these for anyone who swims often and needs swim trunks they can be active and comfortable with.

I like this suit!
I like this suit. It's a bit more restrictive than my other LL Bean suit, so that's why I didn't give it a 5 star rating. But it's probably just different, not bad. It has a tight inner liner.
