Perfect hat
I have only had a chance to wear this twice because it keeps warming up, but we are due a freeze tonight, so will get an opportunity for the next day or two. It is so soft and wearable, very comfortable, ample room for big heads. I am a dog walker and get out very early , so having a warm head is essential. I wish they had gloves to match the hats. AND I love that it is made from recycled materials.

nice comfortable hat one size fits all!
I bought a new LLbean Polartec Mountain Pro jacket and wanted a hat to go with the jacket for colder weather so I bought this hat . They are large, but if you wash it and then put it in the dryer it will shrink up to fit smaller heads. LLBean used to make these in other colors. I bought a Navy Blue one 10 years ago and it still looks like new.

I like the style of the hat and the color. But I didn’t even wear it for the entirety of the winter season and it pilled terribly. Looked awful so I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend.

Very warm and cozy winter hat.
I bought this beanie for me and it now belongs to my 12 yr old grandson. He loves it. It's very warm and it goes with all his LL Bean winter gear. It's the only winter hat he will wear. It washes well. I've washed it twice and it still looks new. Definitely worth buying.

Unlined, Not Really Machine Washable
As a casual beanie, it's good. Wore it in 27F weather and 14F with wind, and it's the wrong tool for the job in that weather. I walked in sub 34F windy weather, and a fleece beanie was far better than this beanie at blocking wind. I would even say this beanie doesn't block wind. It's a looser weave, it's stretchy. I covers my ears better, but doesn't block cold wind. I washed it on cold in a machine, then dried on medium low. The black color did transfer and made colors dingy, so if you can, maybe hand wash until the dye stops transferring. Once dried in a machine, I feel like it shrunk a little, and is stiffer. But I was okay with that trade off. I wanted a beanie I could wear on walks and sweat in, and wash it in the machine with weekly laundry. It held up okay to that, but doesn't retain a nice softness or stretchiness if it's machine washed.
