the mesh zipper top , keeps you from accessing items , you have to unzip the whole bag, the outside main zipper pocket needs to be re done none of the pockets really work well, seems to small and the main ne is only 6 inches deep.

Nice Carry-On, Would Recommend
This Travel Pack is great! There is plenty of room in the main compartment, and plenty of smaller compartments and pockets for organization. The padded and lined laptop/tablet pocket is great, with plenty of space for large, not thick, laptops. The small front pocket is great for quickly dropping in small valuables, wallet, change, phone, ID, Passport...anything right before and after airport screening.
The pack/bag easily fit in one TSA Screening tub, with my belt, shoes, and a light jacket. My travel included both large and regional jet sized planes. Many many passengers boarding the regional jets had to check their rolling hard-sided carry-ons mainly due to thickness. I had no issues. One flight attendant noticed the backpack straps and asked me about the pack features.
I would hesitate using this pack as checked baggage. The shoulder-carry strap attachment points, bag handles, and zipper pulls could get caught if the pack is not in a tub. That's why this is a carry-on pack! I am an infrequent traveler, so this pack is great for me.

Nice Bag But Questionable Quality
I really liked this bag initially and used it as a carry on for 5 trips but on the sixth trip the zipper on the outer compartment ripped away from the bag along the entire length of the bag. LL Bean honored the warranty and refunded my money but I am disappointed in the quality of the bag.

Returned with regret
I ultimately returned this bag becahse it did not have rollers BUT this thing is the swiss army knife of bags. Ill probably regret it and buy it again. Slightly too big to out under an airplane seat and technically too large for a carryon, you could pack a week of clothes in this easily.

Great soft-sided travel pack
This bag was perfect for our African trip which sometimes required weight restrictions of 20lbs and no wheels. The multiple handles and straps provided options on how to carry the bag, making it manageable to carry it over some distance even as older adults.
IWhile I specifically purchased the bag for our one trip, I am going to continue to use this bag on domestic trips as the multiple compartments were great for organization. The bag also was easy to clean after enduring the dirt of Africa and grime of luggage compartments. I highly recommend this bag over the more expensive, similar soft sided bags from well known outdoors companies.

I will use this often.
This was great for my purposes. I have a little back trouble (I am 64) and it was a bit heavy but I will use it often. It fit in the overhead on 4 planes. I could zip my plastic baggie with "liquids" in the front pocket to access them for screening. I put it on my back and could move more easily than my fellow travelers with wheeled bags. It held all I needed for a week. 2 pair shoes, shorts, pants, shirts, dress, my dryer, cosmetic bag. Love it. I even had compliments on it. Leaves your hands free if you are attending a toddler.

Almost perfect BUT
I really wanted to love this but there are some issues. The space available is fantastic and the inside is well finished but the zipper seams are already sprouting threads. This convertible pack is perfect If you are a male not over 30. It is just too big and heavy even carefully loaded for a woman (I still lift weights as a senior) or a senior to carry. Also there is a key design flaw since LL failed to install exterior compression straps on the pack. Once loaded everything inside shifts and falls to the small of your back which is NOT good for anyone. So, back to LL it goes with profound regrets.

What I needed
It is just perfect. It does not have too many complicated compartments, but the ones it has are super useful. It is lightweight and perfect size for a three to four day trip (actually I already used it for a 10 day trip). If not full it does not look bulky. Definitely a great buy

Good looking all-in-one backpack/carry-on luggage. Large and well designed. The internal setup is fantastic, with lots of pockets and thoughtful additions. No hip belt to help unload weight, but otherwise perfect.

• Love the felt lined pockets for laptop and small front pocket
• Easy to carry, the arm straps are very comfortable

• Front inside top pocket seems useless. Too shallowI it won't hold anything
• Sized to be at just the max carry-on size, but when overpacked, it will exceed it.
• Would love a built-in identification pocket outside
• Loops in the zippers almost too small for a lock. Luckily my luggage lock uses a cable.

Happy Traveler
I originally bought the Continental Travel Pack for my husband who travels frequently for business, but first tried it myself! Being able to carry a full carryon as a backpack through the airport was much more comfortable than pulling a pack on wheels or carrying by hand for me. I was able to keep my hands free which was very helpful being able to grab a drink and have boarding pass ready without fumbling. Being secure to my back I knew where it was at all times. Other highlighted features are the expandable fabric and have easy access to the soft laptop/electronic zipper compartment. We will be looking to get a second one when we travel together next!

Great Travel Bag All-Around
Carried on a recent trip to Belize. Loved it! Carried it mostly like a backpack but handles on all sides to grab from all angles. Appreciated all the inside and outside zipper compartments. Only suggestion is to add water bottle holder when wearing like a backpack.

This backpack carryon can hold ALOT. It is a square shape and therefore one can really pack it nice. Front compartments make ease of access if necessary for lap top windbreaker phone etc
