Good for a walk, not for a hike
This new version of an old reliable has a built in tying belt that works fine. My only objection is that the pockets are too shallow and the cargo pocket is too small for my iPhone 15. Good for a walk but not for a hike.

Meh ok
The shorts are fine with a few caveats. There is no point in a tie string if there is elastic on the back half of waistband. They dont dry super fast but are great beach shorts and the zip pocket is a bonus

The fabric sheds water resists stains to increase the wear time. It does have the feel of tent fabric, though. It could use a bit stronger elastic in the waist.

Good choice for post surgery
We purchased these for someone who was rehabbing following surgery. It had been suggested to us by an occupational therapist that drawstring shorts would be easier for this patient than regular shorts with a belt as he re-learned how to dress himself. These are very nice shorts that will be useful long after the patient has recovered.

Bought a couple of pairs of these shorts for two reasons: One - they are comfortable and Two - they are stylish and not baggy shorts that come down to your knee cap. During the summer months they keep you cool and are very comfortable. Nice pockets to carry items. Will be adding more to my shorts collection.

These shorts are okay. They are cool and comfortable, but I would have preferred the material be a little thicker. Be careful with the drawstring when washing if you have an agitator - mine got caught and pulled it out. The pockets are way too shallow.

Pockets are short
I found the material, fit and style great. I have a problem with the pockets. They are short and not very deep. I don’t think you could feel secure that keys etc would not fall out when sitting.

I bought a pair about two weeks ago. There is a lot to like about the shorts, except for the front pockets, which are too shallow in depth. Whatever, I put into the pockets falls out when I sit down or get up from a chair. Luckily, the two back and one side pocket have zippers.
