Very bright
Purchased to use for taking my dog out at night. Very bright. Like the fact you can also dim light if needed.

Best Ever
I walk my dog in the dark morning and night and this headlamp shines lbright, far, and wide enough for me to see where I’m walking and know what might be nearby. I like that it’s battery operated. I like that it doesn’t have five options when I need just what this offers. The headband is easily adjusted and good quality. It’s my go-to light every day (and night).

Great item but ….
I too could have used battery installation instructions. Thanks to the previous reviewer’s instructions, they were terrific and I am happy with the headlamp!

Almost perfect headlamp
I would have given it a 5 except for the absence of instructions on how to insert the battery. Luckily a previous review outlined the steps.

Comfortable and Light Weight
Nice headlamp! I was thinking that I was getting a rechargeable and didn't expect to need to mess with batteries, but I like the lamp well enough that I kept it. It is lighter weight than the rechargeable Miller Tech brand that my husband owns, so I really like that. It is comfortable and has a bright light - great for my home use purposes.

New use?
These headlamps are great when we lose power here in FL. You can do all kinds of jobs & see what you are doing. Great lifesaver during our hurricane season! Also my husband is currently using his to look for very small creatures on his orchids. Just don’t leave the batteries in when not in use.

I Like it!
I ordered this headlamp to take on a sailing trip. I like it a lot because it is less cumbersome than most. It seems bright enough, and has a red light (whatever that is for?) Make sure you read the packaging concerning that, does not come with enclosed directions. Also installing the batteries was a bit tricky for me, trying to figure out how to open (but I can be a knucklehead to those kind of things) again, read the packaging, very easy. I have not actually used the headlamp yet, but it seems to be decent quality, bright light, and compact. I like it!

Battery Installation Instructions Needed
It should come with directions on how to install the batteries. I'm not sure I could have accomplished it without breaking some part without the clear instructions provided in one of the reviews. (My thanks to the submitter!) Once the batteries were in, it's been very useful.

Safety comes first.
This is great when I’m taking my two dogs for a walk at night. It gives me light while my hands can hold the leash. Safer for me.

How to Install Battery - See Review
Looking down on on/off button, grab top, back of thin (grey) frame and pull down 90 degrees is max. You'll hear a clicking noise. Carefully lift up the on/off rubber button slightly, at the crevice you can now see. Then pull back on the grey frame and the thicker back piece will rotate down to reveal the battery case. They don't give you +/- on these new items anymore, I assumed the smooth - pole fits into the flanged end.
As hard as it is to figure out and open, it seems well made and solid. The band is also attractive. I don't get a red light, but 3 white light settings.

Nice illumination.
Worked well on a recent camping trip. Nicely illuminated the way. Replaced an old rechargeable one that I lost and wasn’t sure how this one with batteries would compare, but so far so good.

Just the thing for poking around under sinks!
I’ve gotten tired of using the flashlight on my phone to find things under sinks and cabinets. This is a great hands-free option. Looks nerdy, but does the trick.

Well built
I did not expect this to be so fully featured. A red-filtered lens for star-gazing in addition to the main center light which has high & low settings. Also a blue filtered lens I'm not sure the purpose of yet. Also seems very well designed and sturdy. And able to be tilted. Hope to order another.

Bright hands free light
I bought this headlamp for my husband at Christmas. It has already come in handy with the two storms we have had in January. Headlamps are great for both outside and indoors. No power, no problem. The light is bright and hands free. Thanks LL Bean!

Bright
I use this light for walking in the neighborhood. It sheds plenty of light for this purpose. I have also used this light wrapped on my bicycle when I traverse trails with tunnels. The button is easy to click on and off as needed
