Good Support and Fit
I always have trouble with my left foot after an accident years ago and need a little extra support in a walking shoe. I have to fully break them in as I have worn them only a few times but and like them so far. I will use these for winter weather and rain. Good looking shoe with good colors.

I just ordered my second pair
I ordered 10 Wide. This is a very comfortable shoe. Whenever I go walking the dog or to the supermarket or rough ground walking, I grab these shoes. They have the best firm soles that support my feet and yet they are light in weight. They hug my feet and don't rub. The only problem is I now will have two pair exactly the same colors because only one color style is available.

Great walking shoes
I really like all of LL Bean’s products and these walking shoes are no exception. With them being waterproof I don’t have to worry about the rain because I walk outside under most weather conditions
The shoes are very well made and extremely comfortable on my feet.

Returning the shoe
In recent years (ten? just a guess) shoes have been made with higher, more thickly padded collars (the part that comes up under your ankle bones). I don't see the logic of this. If the collars were lower, as they used to be, no pad would be necessary. But in any case, the pad does not prevent friction against the ankle bone, neither on this shoe nor on others. I send a lot of shoes back these days, including this pair, because they rasp my ankles. Maybe I have abnormally low ankle bones, so this issue might not apply to you. Anyway, I'm sending these back for that reason: excessively high collar and rasping collar pad. Another commenter stated that the soles are stiff. I agree with that, though I would not have returned it for that reason, because I would expect that to loosen up pretty quickly. But if you don't like a stiff sole, this shoe is not for you. With all that said, it appears well made and sizing was accurate. Result: average rating.

Horrendous first day !
I got these shoes two weeks ago, I put them on and they felt GREAT ! No breaking in period. I was going to keep them pristine, not wear them to work in my yard. I have a new dog, just a pup, she decided to dig under the fence and "escape." I chased her through my yard, down a culvert, through the water in the bottom of the culvert, into my neighbors yard, through the next yard. Down another culvert into the street. Young dogs can toy with you and with astounding agility make you look the fool as you try to snatch them back up. She finally tuckered out, I grabbed her up and headed back home the same way came. These shoes held up magnificently !! Through water, wet grass, up and down culverts, running, slipping. They are tough shoe, I will be buying another pair. These are now my yard shoes.
