A tradition of warmth and style was born in 1927 when Leon Leonwood Bean designed the very first L.L.Bean Chamois Shirt. Nine decades later, it has stood the test of time, becoming a model for all others and a style sure to have an essential role in your wardrobe. Brushed 7.5 oz. Portuguese cotton chamois is specially washed three times for amazing softness.

A Very Special Shirt
I love my Chamois Shirt! It's so soft inside and out. It's perfect for cool weather when you don't need a jacket. I always order Med. from LLB and this is an ideal fit for 134 lb/5'6". I haven't washed it yet but just hung it up and smoothed it out when it arrived and it was ready to wear. I received many compliments on my blue plaid shirt when I wore it to a casual evening event on an outside patio in California.

Shirt shrinks after washing
I bought this shirt and I was happy with it when it arrived. But it has shrunk a lot (washed in cold water), and it is now much too small. If you want to buy it, buy a bigger size than you need! But I would not recommend it. I said it fit too small because that’s true after washing.

Perhaps it was just this particular shirt, but the chamois cloth is thinner than that of several years past. Standard flannel would be just as good (or otherwise).

Delighted to find this plaid chamois shirt
I haven't seen other than solid color chamois shirts for a while now, and my older plaid and patterned chamois shirts are wearing out. It was a delightful surprise to find this patterned chamois shirt and I immediately decided to buy it. It fits perfectly, is of a good weight, and I've enjoyed wearing it. It goes well with blue jeans and with black jeans. At the same time, I was enjoying the new flannel shirt tartans (bought some of those, too), and recalling my first plaid chamois shirt (now with patched elbows), I'd suggest amplifying the plaid choices for your chamois shirt collection.

Keep up the good work
The shirt is fine, and fits well. Only quibble is that the blue in the turtlenecks do not go all that well with shirt. Also wish there were solid colors plus gray and white check available. My old chamois cloth shirts are gradually giving out.
