Plasticized fabrics?
These could have been really nice for our intensifying summer heat waves, and the color, a soft, striped sand is lovely. But the material is weird--extremely stiff though the label says 100% linen. Linen is usually soft and flowy, but these seem plasticized so they don't move and feel uncomfortable, almost scratchy. It is extremely hard to pull the drawstring through the rigid, very large waistband.
I have another stiff item--a seersucker shirt, again labelled 100% (cotton), but rigid, unlike real seersucker which should be light in texture. I kept that, because a stiff shirt is not as uncomfortable as stiff pants. But I wish LL Bean would do something about these denatured fabrics!

sizes run really big
I followed the sizing guidelines, took all my measurements, and ordered the suggested size, but these pants are way too big and too long. They are 100% linen, so they might shrink to a good size, but I'm afraid to risk it! I am returning them.

Color doesn’t look like navy. But I love the fit.
I love the fit and quality of these pants. That being said, this doesn’t look like navy to me. The color is more gray. I am keeping them but will explore what color will work with them. A bit disappointing to me.

I am 5 ft 2 in and 155 lbs. and normally wear a 12P. Going by the sizing measurements, though, I ordered the 14P. While they fit in the waist, the thighs were enormous. The length, said to be 25 inches, actually measured 26 inches, and the crotch hung down an extra three inches, which made these no longer ankle pants, but shoe top length. I give a star for the great fabric, and a star for the nice beige stripe. But my expectation of finally finding a closer fitting leg in a world of wide legged, baggy linen pants was not met. They are going back.
