Best Summer Shorts
I bought these shorts and love them. Lightweight, easy to pack and very comfortable. Great for walking, hiking, and wearing after swimming. They fit my figure perfectly. Plenty of pockets and a great belt.

Crotch or rise a little long.
Run a little big. The rise is a little too long. I don't like when you get the fold across the front. Length good. Pockets good. I think I was just a little too short.

Great shorts!
I love the blue color, the fit and the fabric. They are very comfortable to wear. I also like the multitude of pockets, although the front slash pockets could be a little deeper. I washed them and they didn’t shrink at all. The only real drawback— the belt is about 8 inches too long.

My summer staple
I just bought a second pair of these shorts, because they are my summer staple. The fabric feels substantial without being heavy, and the construction is high quality. I especially like the snap closure at the waist instead of a button. Came out of the dryer looking good.

I returned these. I had purchased pairs of these shorts in the same size in previous years but something happened with this year's style. The style was very baggy and the fit was not good. Also, the pockets were different, no longer deep enough to securely hold a cell phone or much else. Very disappointed because I wanted a pair in Navy.

Great for Straight Hips
Great fit, especially for people with straighter hips. The only downsides are that the design of the side pockets isn’t terribly attractive, and it’s extremely right-handed in the extra pockets. It would have been better if there had been cargo pockets on both legs. Overall, I’m happy I bought two pair.

Great shorts. Bad sizing.
I ordered Tropicwear Shorts in a size medium. I have two pair from previous years and while they may be slightly different, they are clearly the same size. When I received the new shorts, they were at least two inches wider in the waist despite being the same as the older shorts in all other respects. I sent the medium back and reordered a small. It fits fine, and I'm happy; however it's worth noting that I have not worn a small pant since I was a kid. These shorts are NOT true to size. Size down when ordering.

Its tough to find shorts with a longer inseam, for women. So I was hopeful. The cut was unflattering, maybe because it was too large? At any rate, how about more longer shorts (men seem to have longer shorts...)

Not a good fit or function
I did not like the fit of these at all. I am quite hippy, larger hips and thighs and smaller waist. These shorts just looked weird on me. They did not move naturally with my body, so they were not functional as hiking shorts as I had hoped. I returned them.

Women’s tropical woven shorts.
High quality workmanship but too much material on the sides for the size. I’m 5’ 3” tall and wear a size 2. The shorts make me look I have fat hips inside. I won’t be wearing these very often like the other pairs I get from L.L. Bean.

These shorts appeared to be made well in a quality fabric, but the fit was bizarre being both tight and baggy with a long rise in the front and short in the back. The side pockets poked out, even though that area seemed to fit well, and the zippered length of back pockets were weird and inconvenient. Frost Gray is a great color, and I hope to see it again in a different style. These went back for being unwearable. The belt adds little value (i.e., I'd rather choose my own belt). There is no comparison to the superior Comfort Trail shorts.

Excellent quality, poor fit
Liked everything about these hiking shorts--fabric, styling, quality of construction. But another garment that's way too big for me, and this is the smallest size offered. The hips, thighs, and seat ballooned out like clown pants. Disappointed and frustrated. I've been shopping at LLB for 40+ years, because I've had a great relationship with the company's products, customer service, and staff. But it's getting increasingly difficult to find clothing that consistently fits me.

Good Shorts
I did not have any issues with the fit of these shorts. They do run just a little bit large, not a whole size. I usually wear a size 8 which fits me snugly, and I ordered these in Medium. These fit like a 9, not quite a 10-- They are roomy and comfortable. Waist has a little room, so I cinched it up a little bit with the included belt. I kept them, they look nice, and the roomier fit makes me look slimmer. Nice longer length.

These shorts fit well!
I've seen the other reviews, saying the fit was bad. I was worried. But, when my shorts arrived, they fit truly well, just like the picture showed. I wear between size 8- 10. I ordered a medium, and when it arrived, the fit was perfect. Waist, hips, rise-- all just right. I was so relieved that the other reviews were not accurate. My shorts fit just right, just like they looked in the picture online.

Don't Bother :(
First time I ordered a Medium, which usually fits...Nope, too large with weird sides that poked out. Returned those, ordered a small. Nope, too small. So like another customer, I too paid for 2 returns. Very disappointed. Sounds like pretty much everyone has had these same issues. DO NOT ORDER these.
