Weird shape, even in multiple sizes
I had several pairs of these from 20+ years ago and the elastic finally gave out, so I wanted to replace my current pairs. I am a very curvy, wide-hipped woman, and I usually appreciate pants that take into account women with curves. These were so wide and loose around my hips and thighs that they stuck out. The pockets only made it worse - the zipper on the back pocket stuck out, eliminating even the possibility of having these tailored. I tried two sizes - M and L - the M was too tight around my crotch but still stuck out weirdly around my thighs and the L was too big and stuck out even more. Returned them and went with a competitor. Too bad - I loved the last set and I'm so faithful to LLBean!

Tropic weight pants
Was hoping for baggier hiking pants. I like looser pants for Sonoran desert summer outdoor activities.

Tight crotch
Too short between low-rise waist and crotch. Would be nice if ankles had an elastic cinch. Glad that LLBean carries petite sizes.

Fit is weird
Hips and thigh area is wide and sticks out. The cargo pocket accentuates this weird look. Makes the pants look like jodhpurs.

Great, practical pants
Great quality, look gooding! Sizing is a bit difficult. The 12 was definitely too big, but the 10 was a little too small in the waist only. I am keeping the 10. And, this may sound silly, but the belt is terrific. It’s so hard to find buckleless belts, I wish I could buy those separately!

Love LLBean Tropicwear!
I love LLBean tropicwear clothing. These are a different/heavier material than my other LLBean pants and fit more snuggly but are still my go to hot weather outdoor pants!

Perfect for traveling light, unpredictable weather
My husband loves his zip-off LL Bean tropicwear pants so I bought a pair for travel. They are very comfortable, lots of pockets, lightweight, easy to clean and dry for hikers or campers.

Pockets not big enough
None of the zippered or velcro closure pockets are deep enough for my cell phone, which is a Motorola & not super large. The angled front pockets will hold it as long as I stand upright. Bend over to tie shoes or pick things up & it slides sideways, ready to fall out when I stand back up. My asthma inhaler fits though. I deliberately bought a size larger than I need so as to fit over fleece lined leggings for winter hiking. But I will continue to use my original LLBean hiking pants, bought over 30 years ago & still going strong. My cell phone fits in the back zippered pocket of those old pants.

Several issues.
The zipper on the left leg had a sharp plastic piece which cut into my leg which I managed to fix my clipping it off. I didn’t like the styling of the pants they make you look like you have huge hips. And they really don’t have decent cargo pockets.

Stylish I was told.
Got small in medium tall, I am 5'11', 125 pounds.
Thought they were a bit loose, but when I put them on for a friend for an opinion, I was told that is more the style now so I kept them. Looking for a real try out on vacation in May. They washed very well.

Great Pants for Fishing
Very nice pants. I needed some new fishing pants and these are perfect. They are well made and because LL Bean offers petite sizes, they fit me.

Love the pockets
Love the pockets and material. Zip off pant location is a bit low and close to my knee. Would have preferred shorter shorts

Great for travel
I packed very light for a long Asian trip this summer, with only three pairs of pants. They handled all kinds of weather from hot and humid to Mt Fuji climb (with underpants for warmth). Strongly recommend. I like my pants to ride high so I bought regular even though I'm in the petite height range. They fit me comfortably -- even the leg length is right.

Great travel pants
These pants are made with indestructible material and are great for travel. I love the zipper pockets. They fit in length for my 5' 3" petite size but have extra material in the thighs even though I have a curvey figure.

Great product
I wore these for a full day of travel yesterday (even though my original intent is to hike in them) and they were extremely comfortable and the perfect choice as I was able to zip them off when I arrive in a very warm climate. Then when I got back in the plane, I was able to zipper them back up to be comfortable for the flight home.
Breathable, dries quickly and so comfortable. Great product.

Pants/shorts
Great pants/shorts very light in the warm weather, stretchy as well. Good for hiking. Changes from shorts with zip on legs for long pants. I waited a little while for the color to be in stock. Like the fit

A bit disappointed
I was disappointed with the fit. Since the waistline is straight, my backpack pulled the pant down unless the belt was tight.

Nice but could be a bit stretchier
Great pant/ shorts option. Lightweight material, great gray color, fits as expected, just wish the material was a bit stretchier for bending, kneeling, ease of movement.

Zip off pants
These pants fit, but I did not like the feeling of the zip-off mechanism around my legs. It felt very strange and constricting. The pants were returned.
They fit, although a little tight around the waist.

Disastrous revision of previous style
Had the previous version of these pants and loved them. Hate the changes. No pocket is large enough for smartphone. Waistband no longer elasticized so must rely on belt. Belt loops in front too widely spaced so in front the belt rides up and the pants ride down - very uncomfortable (two belt loops next to each other in back - why? - will probably move one of them to front). Please bring back the older version! Please!!

Great pants
I bought these pants for camping trips and vacations, as well as for home. They have a lot of thoughtful features, and I love them. There is a phone pocket on the right front shorts leg, with a velcro closure and a pull tab for quick access. There is a single snap to close the waist, that has a rubber coating to protect things rubbing against the snap and getting scratched. There is another pull tab on the waistband to open the snap closure. These pants fit just right, the shorts length is not too long or short, the fabric is a summer weight befitting the zip off pant legs for warm weather. The total length of the pants is fine for my 5’4” height, and 31” legs. The size is a medium women’s and fits great. I really like these.

Poor stitching at the pockets
I just returned 2 pairs which I wanted to love. The 10P fit perfectly except for a bulge at the pockets. Both pairs had the problem. As I look at the model in the ad, you can see there is bunching out of material at the pocket near her hand and not totally hidden. Not what you would expect for the price.

Good pants
Good pants. Used for hiking. Would be better with zip pockets on the front. Otherwise, worked very well.
