While many competitors use lesser-quality blends, our yarns are always the real deal. These are authentic ragg wool sweaters, knit from exceptionally soft lambswool in a timeless Fair Isle pattern.
Our sweater is crafted from 100% premium lambswool yarns that are richly textured and noticeably softer than competitors' versions. In fact, it's practically impossible to find other ragg sweaters made without using lesser wool-blend yarns. Each of our ragg wool sweaters is designed stitch by stitch with time-honored styling and details.

Fair Isle rag wool sweater... AWESOME
Love this sweater. This is the fourth Bean sweater that I've ordered and it fits perfectly. I absolutely love the winter snow flake pattern and the warmth of wool. This is the second rag wool sweater I've ordered from The Bean, and like the first, is a little itchy when you first put it on. However, once you wear it a little while, the wool softens and that itch completely goes away. I also like that these Bean wool sweaters don't have to be dry cleaned! Two thumbs up!!

Runs large, itchy
This one didn't work for me -- I love the thick, chunky knit and the quality seemed very good, but I naively ordered it because it looked very handsome while knowing I find most wools itchy. I was hoping that somehow maybe this would be the magic wool that just happened to be SO high quality it wouldn't itch... t isn't. If you find wool itchy I'm afraid this is, ultimately, still a wool sweater and not some unicorn fabric. Seemed very warm, though! I ordered a larger size because I normally prefer my sweaters somewhat baggy and found I was drowning in it, so be mindful of the measurements when you order.
