perfect fit and appearance
I am very happy with my sweater. I am actually a woman, but ordered the men's as the ladies' cotton fisherman's sweaters were sold out in most colours. I am a size 8, and ordered the medium men's, paprika colour, with some trepidation, but it is absolutely perfect. It is not too big, pleasantly long, extremely comfortable, and has already received enthusiastic approval from friends who have seen it.

PERFECT
I have not purchased from L L Bean for years so I decided to buy just one sweater to see if they still made a high quality product and to see what size to order since I have gained some weight. Classic without the itch
Soft, hangs well, not itchy, can span multiple uses. I'm 5'8, 155 female, athletic build, average bust. I got a large because I prefer a roomy cozy fit. If you're around my size and want a more sized fit, the medium would be fine.

Great sweater. By what’s with the gold “spots”?
I’ve been looking for a new cable knit sweater to replace a favorite. And I was delighted to find it in dark teal , my favorite color. Ordered it received it, tried it on.
I will never buy another piece of clothing without seeing it on a big screen first.
This sweater has what look to be small gold balld of lint.
I returned it. If LL Bean were to produce one without the decorative flourish, I’ll buy it.

Sweater has tan specks in material
This is a beautiful sweater if you like the material that looks like it was washed with a load of shredded tan paper bags. I does actually have specks throughout the material that look like it was washed with paper bags. I would be embarrassed to wear the sweater I received in public.

Poor Quality Control
Just received. I thought the bag it was in may have some residue or something due to various colors. When I pulled it out of the bag I realized there are various colors of thread woven into the garment. It also has pulls and such throughout. This is being returned for sure.

My wife likes how I looked in this sweater

How the men’s sweater worked for my husband.

Watch Out for the Flecks
I was disappointed with color scheme of the fabric of this sweater. Not clearly depicted in the photo of the product, there are tiny flecks of yellow throughout the yarn. The resultant appearance is one of lint which detracts from the sweater’s beauty.
