Great shoe but runs small
Ordered them online. Very nice souls. Nice look. But Run's very small. Bought for my husband for anniversary. But I had to take them back to the store to exchange sizes. And I had to pay more money for them in the store than I did online with taxes

Very good low-top hikers.
After just a month of wearing, these hiking shoes are very comfortable. I was looking for just such a medium weight hiker with waterproofing. They are not as light as a running shoe, but these are hikers and are a lot lighter than my trusty old Vasque sky walkers. I've yet to test them in truly wet conditions, but they have stayed dry in very wet grass. The fit is good (I have graduated to a size 14!), and the medium width is perfect. I recommend them.

Good shoe
Good shoe, not as comfortable as I had hoped but there is still time to break it in. Would be better if it was completely waterproof

Great waterproof hiking/walking shoes.
Great shoes! I bought these shoes for a trip to Ireland and Scotland. I did some mountain hiking and a lot of city walking. These shoes were great overall. I specifically wanted them for the waterproof aspect. They were great hiking up mountains and they were comfortable enough to wear when walking around the city. The other nice thing is they are stylish enough to wear to a restaurant without looking like "hiking" shoes. They fit well and keep your feet dry.

Very nice!
Bought these a few days ago and really like the comforts so far. Had to go up 1/2 size larger than normal as they run small. Wife likes the looks of them too!

Good looking. Comfortable and well made.
I’m a 67 year old male. I walk between 12-15 miles a week. After going through many “name brand” athletic shoes, I decided to try a hiking shoe that looks like an athletic shoe. I’m very satisfied with these LL Bean hiking shoes. They’re well made. Comfortable and good looking.

Good buy.
Great looking shoe. A bit stiff for everyday use but seems appropriate for hiking.

Too painful to wear.
These shoes are heavy to wear, and unfortunately poorly made. The inside seam is bulky and does not fold neatly on top of your foot, and hurt your foot. I had in the past bought several LL Bean hiking shoes, but none were so poorly made. The difference is clearly visible when looking inside the shoes: noe have a thick folding line in the inside of the shoe, and they are very confortable. This is not the case of these shoes. Why the inside design was changed is not clear. But the result is that they are too painful to use.
I was hoping that after wearing them awhile, I could use them, but this proved to be not the case. These are terrible hiking shoes.

Beautiful shoes
These all-leather shoes are beautiful and like most Bean products, made to endure. Unfortunately Bean doesn't offer them in wide sizes. I ordered an 11-1/2 hoping it would fit my 11EE foot. No such luck. I returned them.

Defective Shoes
Ordered two pairs and each time it came with an inside defect that had leather pointing at your toes. the first had it on the right shoe the second had it on the left shoe.

The perfect excursion shoe!
After all the careful consideration, comparisons, and in-store fittings, I felt compelled to share my thoughts with future shoe shoppers.
I initially filtered by width because I need wide shoes. But the look of these hikers drew me in! They are suitable for shorts, denim, khakis, AND they match my L.L.Bean quilted riding jacket. All that coupled with L.L.Bean's quality (each piece is an enduring investment to be sure) meant that I had to find a store to see how they fit.
I'm a 9.5 wide and bought these in 10 regular. This shoe's width is MORE than adequate for my Flinstone feet. My toes needed more length, so I went with a half-size up. The inside corners of the toungues required breaking in (I am satisfied after simply bending the leather away from my ankle for a short time). While the factory insoles are impressively supportive, I was able to easily swap out my preferred insoles without a problem.
Overall, I am EXTREMELY satisfied with my purchase. I needed to upgrade from my summer sneakers to a shoe that would feel supportive and dry on long city walks while also remaining stable and east-to-clean after countryside strolls. These fit the bill!
Bonus: I won't need to pack gym sneakers for my trips. I've been testing these out on the treadmill, bike, and elliptical. These are sneaker-like hikers...SN-IKERS!

Great for long walks
A good shoe in between a sneaker and a hiking shoe. Good support, but with some cushion as well. And it does not have in-your-face graphics of so many outdoor shoes these days. It does have a fairly small and confining toe box, so I would say it is suited to narrow-normal feet. Mine has a small bulge in a seam near where the left shoe upper joins the midsole, and which is uncomfortable - I will try to trim the edge of the insole to accommodate that.

I bought theses last year and returned them.
The shoe was advertised as waterproof but wasn’t. Walking through wet grass resulted in wet feet.

Great shoes except for the footbeds
These are great shoes. Feet stay dry walking the dogs in the wet grass. My only complaint is the same I have with many shoes and sneakers...nice, well made shoes or sneakers with a 99 cent foot-bed. I have replaced the foot-bed with a set of "Sofsole" insoles. Now they are great. I can wear 13s in some shoes, but went with 14s in these. I think it was a good choice.

For A planned Trip To Ireland
Bought these for a two week guided tour/trip to Ireland - wanted a pair for light hiking, daily walking, and rainy weather. Tried on many different shoes. These by far felt the best. Will let you know how they actually did after the trip.

Half’s should size up
I normally take 7 1/2, but in this shoe the eight was right. First time that’s happened. The sales person said that might be because of the waterproof lining, which takes up some of the interior room.

Nice waterproof hiker
Wore them in the rain the first weekend I got them and they seemed to work great repelling water. Seem to have great grip on the sole overall. A little stiff but should loosen up as I wear them.

Tight fit
This Shoe looks great and is well constructed. Unfortunately, they were too tight in the laces. Usually, llbean shoes fit me perfectly. I had to send them back.

Too tight.
I even ordered the next size up and it was still too tight. The material is great. It’s a really well made shoe. It just doesn’t fit my foot.
