Too Low On Waist
Always wear men's pants because women's are ALL cut too low on waist only to find out so are these Bean men's pants! Advice to hiking pant designers: We're all not hipless 20yr olds, and besides, hiiking pants are not supposed to barely cover your butt or ride on your hips. Would've gotten a 34"inseam, but Bean only carries 34" in Large. Needed Small.

The fabric alone makes this five stars
I pray they come back with more of these pants next year. The fabric is so light and comfortable that I wonder why you would buy anything else. These pants look great and are the only pants I have ever had that can take on a warm summer day without having to turn them to shorts.

Front pockets not deep enough
I like these pants a lot except for the shallow front pockets, In all other pants, including other styles from LL Bean, I keep my phone in my left front pocket, but when I sit down, the phone falls out. Especially annoying in my car when the phone once slipped between the door and the seat while I was driving. And I almost lost it in a restaurant. The pocket liner's are sharply curved at the bottom instead of horizontal. This further reduces the functional depth, as a phone cannot slide all the way to the bottom. I switched to the zipped security pocket on the right seam, and it's large enough for a standard size phone. But out of habit I'm always reaching in my left pocket.

Shorts too long[
I didn’t buy these because the shorts length would be mid-knee for me. I’ve been searching for convertible pants and they are all 9-10” which is just to long foe me at 5’ 9”. Disappointed.

Great pants minor improvements needed
I would love to give these pants 5 stars. I really glad I bought these pants because the zippered security pocket is hard to find so when I discovered this feature I ordered 3 pairs. The first reason I can't give the pants 5 stars is that the belt is too small for the loops and whenever I open the belt it slips out of the loops and I keep having to untwist the belt. The second reason is that the other Velcro pockets aren't quite deep enough for my phone and my glasses case to fit in straight. I have to angle them a bit so that the Velcro closes securely.

Poor imitation of the original. All details have been minimized: waist to crotch shortened; zipper shortened; tiny belt loops; pockets very shallow - they won’t hold a phone or wallet and you’re pocket knife will fall out.

Great Fit, Looks, Utility - Great Pants
The pants fit well, comfortable and not baggy, with plenty of zippered pockets to securely carry what I need. The material is not overly stretchy and doesn’t sag, yet is not binding, and is attractive, all elements coming together what seems to be a great travel pant.
Add to that the zip-off legs and and pricing that doesn’t break the bank and you have what seems to me to be the ultimate in flexible-use garments.

Not very good purchase
Have purchased many products from LLBean , all excellent quality, however not this pants . The pants have shallow pockets ( pickpocket will love this ) the front clasp of the pants and the belt are week in structure. For almost 80$ in price I do feel a bit taken.

Room for improvement
These are good pants. A key feature is the ability to unzip the lower leg and create shorts very quickly and, ideally, without having to remove them. However, the pant leggings narrow too much and I was unable to slip the lower leg portion off over my mid-cut size 9 1/2 hiking boot.

For 5 decades we’ve trusted LLBean for my husband’s clothing. I cannot think of one item that has been less than perfect. He wears a tall large size. We cannot consistently find his size or classic preferences anywhere else. His flannel pjs, trusty long and short sleeve shirts, dress shirts, tropic wear zip-pants and khakis are worn for decades, until I have to discreetly hide the old ones and immediately replace with new ones. Extremely lightweight hot-weather pants
A terrific pair of extremely lightweight hot-weather pants, which genuinely keep you cooler than kackies or jeans. It's highly breathable, dries quickly, and can transform into shorts whenever needed. I am also glad it has belt loops so that I can replace the elastic belt with a stiffer one capable of supporting a cellphone in its holder. It has only 2 minor imperfections which are the cost of keeping cool and comfortable: 1. the 2 main front pockets are too shallow - stuff falls out of them whenever sitting down. Fortunately, that imperfection is compensated by quantity of pockets (7 in total). 2. The pants tend to keep a casual, lightly wrinkled look. I will definitely recommend these pants to others.
