Quality is not good
Bought this for my husband for his birthday. He says it’s super warm. However, the zipper broke after only 4 years. Meanwhile, I still have my 30 year old Columbia jacket with functioning, zippers. I am disappointed as I expected more from L.L. Bean but I guess they don’t make things like they used to.

Excellent Jacket, One Suggestion for Improvement
I bought this jacket about a week ago. It is excellent in all respects except one: the plastic zipper is, in my opinion, too flimsy for this jacket and likely to malfunction before long. A sturdier metal zipper would have been perfect.
It is for this reason that I am returning it.

Great Jacket just as described
Just as described. Jacket is lightweight, warm and wind proof. Haven’t been in rain yet but I’m sure it’ll be good. Just got back from walking the dog on a cold windy day and was comfortable. Purchased a Large. I’m 200lbs and 5’11”. Fit is perfect. Located on Long Island NY
Definitely recommend

Awesome jacket
This was a gift for my adult son and he loves it! I keeps him warm and dry while waiting for the bus and train going to work. Boston weather can be unpredictable and now I know that he will be comfortable no matter how the weather turns.

Well worth the price
Super light, warm, and comfortable, without a puffy jacket look! I bought this jacket for my son to wear walking outside from class to class in the cold Ohio winter.

Sadly disappointed
I bought this to replace an older LL Bean down sweater, which is no longer available. Sadly it contains no down at all and is not as warm. I’m very disappointed and can’t help to feel I’ve been deceived. I have always turned to LL Bean for all of mine and my wife’s jackets. Now I think the quality is questionable and the prices have gone way up.
Seriously considering returning this and reconsidering keeping my LL Bean card, since I can only redeem the bean bucks at Bean.

Adequate
Best feature this jacket is lightweight. How it will be in sub-zero not sure yet. Worst feature, zipper difficult to close. Has large pocket to store hat and gloves. Outside cell pocket is also a big plus.

Looks good; need more time to complete review
Visual inspection says this is a fine coat. When it gets really cold, I will find out if it keeps me warm. Stay tuned.

Quality made and warm
You can immediately tell that this jacket is of good quality both in materials and craftsmanship. I love this jacket and the down insulation make it super warm. Very happy with the purchase as my first LLB jacket!

Extra warm
This is the second jacket of this type I have purchased. It is very warm and easy to wear. Very light and warm. The only reason I purchased the second one was because of weight loss and I was very satisfied with my first jacket.

Front zipper broken.
I bought this jacket in Jan. 2021. After pretty light wear, in March 2024 the front zipper started to pop open. Self repair doesn't help. Repair estimates are $150-220 to replace worn teeth. Pretty expensive garment for a couple of years of light use.

I'd give it 6 stars if that were possible.
I have no idea how something this light (and packable!) can be warm. But it IS super warm. Fit and finish are perfect. I could not be happier with my purchase. And this same review could be made for everything that I have purchased recently from LLB.
I would recommend this coat to anyone. I'm 6'2" 220(ish). Purchased the XL Fits like it was tailored. And I want to be seen so I got the bright Orange. It was the one I wanted and was even able to get it on sale. Headed to Colorado on a Father/Son trip with fall. Hoping for a cool winter in Central Texas. You will NOT be disappointed.

Terracotta is better than Hermes Orange
The orange dark terracotta color is so extremely perfect that it makes the Hermes orange look hackneyed.

L.L.Bean-Men's Waterproof Ultralight Down Jacket
Another wonderful product from LL Bean. Fits like a glove. Love the color (orange) and the color I wanted was even on sale. I have a little puff jacket I got from LL Bean. Love it too but this is for nastier weather.

Absolutely a super parka
Because I already have an L.L.Bean Gore-Tex Mountain Parka, I almost didn't buy this one. But I bought it and couldn't be happier. It keeps me warm and dry for outdoor traveling and sporting events when it's been very cold and wet. Because it's also light weight, I found it pretty easy to roll it up and shove it into a backpack. The plastic zipper works fine, but for the long haul, I sort of wish that it was metal. That would be the only thing I'd change.

Light, warm, dry, and wind protection in one packa
Lightweight, rain and wind protection. Took it to Iceland in winter - lightweight, packs easily, terrific protection against wind, rain, and cold. Fit was a little small so upped the size. A great jacket

Waterproof Lightweight Down Prevents Overheating
This waterproof down jacket is light, yet warm. I chose the orange as this was the only bright color available for visibility while snow blowing. My husband wore this most of the winter and did not overheat while wearing. He keeps telling me how much he likes this jacket. Its design and fit are very good: Much better than his old boxey fit squall jacket.

Great warm lightweight coat
This coat was a replacement for my original purchase. My original coat shed down on my shirts which was a big problem. I have had my replacement coat for about a month and this one has not displayed the same issue with down being deposited on my shirts.
