Our heaviest-weight flannel, now in stripes. Made of thick chamois fabric that's warmer than ordinary flannel, it's a shirt, light jacket and essential layer all in one.
When our founder, Leon Leonwood Bean, developed this shirt more than 90 years ago, durability was the goal. Then as now, the 100% cotton shirt is brushed for exceptional softness and warmth. So disappointed
I bought this as a gift for my husband a couple of years ago. He is VERY hard to shop for, and I was delighted that he loved this shirt. Because he loved it, he only wore it occasionally, as an overshirt, because he didn't want to ruin it. (I know, it doesn't make sense to me, I wear the heck out of the clothes I like). Anyway, it's only been laundered once or twice, and the shoulder seam is coming apart. It hasn't come unstitched - the fabric has pulled out of the seam. As another reviewer noted, it can't be repaired because there's no seam allowance. It was the same shirt - nautical navy. I'm considering getting another color on sale in the hopes that it was only a problem with that color.

Seams are Coming Apart
I bought this shirt for my husband in Nautical Navy which they no longer carry. It was 2 years ago or so. The side seam under the arm to the bottom hem has come loose as the fabric was cut too short for it to hold. My husband has worn this shirt maybe 10 times and I feel like a 75.00 shirt should last longer than that. Not typical LLBean quality and they had no refund or credit options that suited me. Buyer beware.

This is second order I have made on these shirts. I have been getting chamois shirts from Llbean for over 40 years and these shirts are the best. Long tails and heavy duty chamois are great. One of the best winter shirts out there.
