I love these midweight wool socks!
A truly comfortable midweight wool sock! This cut is perfect! Can wear with sneakers, ankle height hiking boots, or even my Birkenstocks! Thickness is warm without being overly insulating. Excellent price point! Looking for more colors but the green, blue, and purple ones I picked up are variety enough for now!

I DID NOT WEAR THESE THEY WERE A GIFT AS WERE SEVERAL OTHERS IN DIFFERENT SIZES AND COLORS - THE PEOPLE WHO WORE THEM LOVED THEM - THEY WERE JUST PERFECT FOR ROCKY HILL CLIMBINGING IN DINGLE IRELAND FOR EVERYONE IN THE PARTY. I STAYED IN THE RESTAURANT AT THE BOTTOM - HAD A GREAT MEAL AND READ. Im 82 and my days of climbing mountain passes are over.

Incorrect sized= too small
As other reviewers stated; sized on small size. I ordered XL. My shoe size is 11.5 These socks should be sized for women not for men. I ordered both the red & purple. I returned all of these socks (5pr) As I was repacking to ship back; noticed a purple sock bag was already opened which tells me another customer sent them back previously. I wished I saw the open bag to try on before opening another bag.

Cresta hiking socks
I wear a size 13/14. Label says 13-15. Still feel pretty tight on my feet, especially at the ankle. Haven’t really loosened up after a few washes and wears.

Warm socks and not too high-
Nice socks. Warm and perfect height for if you are not wearing boots but want warmth say while doing stuff around the house in winter or maybe headed in the office on one of those really cold days and want warm feet. I dig em and would definitely recommend them.

Wake with warm feet

Don't Make Them Like They Used To
These are different than the Cresta socks of old. They're slick and smooth underfoot, to the point that my feet are sliding around on them. Starting to be a blister problem, even after a couple of washings. I've had some I got in the past for a long time, and no such problem. Sometimes change is good. Not in this case.

these are great cushioned with good fit for 4 season wear-for me.
they also fit my needs as a diabetic- the 1/4 crew height leaves almost no marks on my ankles.

Save your money
Socks fir great right out of the package. Washed in cold water with my laundry and hung out on clothes line. Socks shrunk. Now too small. I expected a little shrinkage after washing and drying in sun but there is no stretching the socks back out to proper size. I have had these socks in the past and are Great, however, this new version needs work. Already had to send back.

Thinner and less substantial
I have purchased these socks several times in the past and was satisfied with the cushioning and wearability. After a few years some of my older ones were getting worn out so I bought some new ones. The new ones were different, and a disappointment. The socks are now thinner, with less cushioning; they seemed almost flimsy. They didn’t seem as if they would survive more than one season of wear without developing holes. I returned them. I have been a Bean customer for 50 years. The quality and thoughtful design I have been used to from Bean is no longer as evident as it once was.

Good fit, cushioned, well made
After reading other reviews I was concerned that the new design was going to disappoint me. I shouldn’t have worried. Same great fit and durability as before. One awesome thing about these socks is they never slide down, but hug your foot in the middle and at the ankle without being too tight. I am a women’s size 10 and the Large size fits well. I love the high wool content because these just don’t pick up foot odor even when damp. They’re soft, not scratchy, and feel great both summer and winter. Will purchase again. My only complaint is the high price. Spent $70 on 4 pair. Oh well, haven’t found this quality in another brand yet. I would recommend buying them on sale though if you can.
