Quality is down
We own several of the ll bean rolling duffles but our favorite suit case by far is the LL Bean adventure pro rolling suitcase. They don’t make this anymore so I’d hope this one would be comparable. Not even close. The quality of this one didn’t see as sturdy as most LL Bean bags. It seem rather flimsy so I sent it back. Hoping they bring the Adventure Pro rolling bags bag again! So functional and durable!

Great Carryon
I found this ideal carryon bag with the right dimensions for my photography equipment. It's well-made, versatile, and impressively designed, especially with its smooth wheels that performed well during my travels.

needes 4 wheels!!!
i wanted to LOVE this 'gear' bag. my first trip using it was to europe and africa. i was gone for a month. the bag already has some minor damage to its side(s). also: i did not like that it doesn't have 4 wheels on it where one can use the handle to glide across the airport floors, etc. (guess i didn't catch that when i ordered it!!) i had to 'drag' the bag behind me!! i shall see how my next trip goes and decide at that time what i will do: return or keep. otherwise, great bag for rolled clothing and other items.

Quality Remains Excellent
Before ordering this suitcase, I had its predecessor. Like most everything LLBean sells, it was excellent. There are significant improvements in this new suitcase without loosing its quality. For example, it weighs less than the previous one and the front side is designed so that it does not tip over when packaged.

Good bag.
Good bag. Light, sturdy and roomy. Decent value, after applying some L.L. Bean dollars.

Great bag!
Perfect for a long trip , held two weeks of clothes on a road trip! Love that the mesh cover zips all the way around on each side so clothes don’t fall out when you open the bag!

Approach Roller bag.
I took this bag all over Kenya and Tanzania on a two week safari. Holds a lot more than I thought and held up after six flights.

Pleased with this bag.
Lightweight, easy to maneuver and good mid size bag when you need something more than just a weekend carry on. Love this new blue color.

It was too small for my needs.
Not bad luggage but too small for my needs. I also didn’t like that the straps had to be removed to open.

Great Product With Great Quality
This bag is on the boarder of to big for a carry on. Depending on your plane size it may not fit in the smaller planes overhead bins. Overall, great bag allows for simple organization in both halves. The cinch straps that wrap around the bag provide great cargo security, keeping it tight, creating a slimmer profile. The "throw" pocket on the top half of the bag is great for quick access to a tablet or charging cables. The exterior of the bag held up wonderfully during its may den voyage not even giving the appearance it was thrown around a cargo hold on and bounced around on a conveyer belt. A carry strap on all sides of the bag is also a nice touch!

Needs padded handles
I've used this bag on two trips now and liked the design and space. The only drawback is the handles for picking up the bag are a webbing material and are not comfortable when carrying the bag, especially when it is full. If the bag is redesigned, I hope the handles will be padded, making the bag more comfortable to carry.

Stands without falling
The Approach Rolling Gear Bag was large enough for two of us on four night trip. It is light enough to handle without difficulty. The two clasping straps across the front made me feel that my belongings were more secure. A large zip pocket on the front is convenient for quick access. The bag stands upright without falling over, it also rolls easily.

Very disappointed
I was surprised to see that this Bag only had two wheels instead of four. It was very hard to move around in the airport because the bag had to be slanted to roll.

On the Road Again
These are great bags! The fabric is very durable. For a change, I bought the Forest shade (green) and really love the color. The bags are roomier that it looks. The book-style opening makes it easy to pack what I used to pack in a 26 inch bag. LL Bean packing cubes add to the efficiency of the bags.

Great luggage, wheel support!
I have an earlier version of this bag, approximately 5 years ago! It is holding up great...the wheels did not! I found the perfect solution is to change the wheels out with roller blade wheels! Items needed were; 6mm x 2” bolts, 72 mm rollerblade wheels, and I added Abec 7 bearings with 8mm to 6mm bushings, also 2 -8/32 x1/2” bolt with nylon nuts and a washer! This saved the luggage for many more years to come! See photos!

Great Quality and Design
I LOVE this bag! I'm an even five feet and weigh less than 100 lbs and didn't know what kind of luggage would be best for me or what features I needed. This is perfect! It's much roomier inside than it looks and all the straps keep things snugged in place. I stayed in a an old Victorian hotel and without the grab handles in all the right places, I would have struggled to carry it up two flights of steep stairs. On the ground, it rolls effortlessly, even on pavers. It also fits easily into the trunk of my small car. I can't say enough great things about this bag!

Great Luggage
This is a great piece of luggage. I have used it for weekend travel when you don’t need a large suitcase. It holds more than a small carryon. The color is really nice and it is lightweight.

Great First Trip with Rolling Gear Bag
Just used the bag for the first time on a bus trip. The many hand grips made it easy to grab from any location, getting in and out of cabs and stowed under a bus. I am 5ft tall and the sliding handle was not too high for me, though it could have been a few inches shorter for a 'perfect' fit.
I was able to pack enough clothes for an entire week. The interior straps held everything in place and the 2 exterior straps added even more stability. The bag held up very well.

too small for being a checked-in bag
The bag seemed well made but was much too small for a 24" tall bag. I ended up with a Travelpro 25" suitcase which was 93 liters in size vs 56 liters for this bag. The volume of the LL Bean case was hardly any larger than a carry-on yet required being checked-in.

Great Bag!
I took this bag on a trip to Montana recently and it held up great. I thought I had filled it completely when I started but every stop, I filled it more and all I had to do was keep expanding the straps. Even my tour guide commented on what a great bag this was.

Highly recommend! Take that extra outfit or two.
Doesn't look large, but holds a lot. It was my main bag to travel 2+ weeks to Scotland & Ireland. Filled it to weigh 43 lbs. Roomy with a mesh that zippers each side so that your clothes stay neatly in place. Easy to pull on 2 wheels. Came out looking new after 3 flights on airplanes. I recommend!
