Just not for me...
I really wanted to like these boots. Unfortunately, the fit was just not for me. The insulation was also a factor. The boots aren't warm. I'm going to donate them to our donation closet at work.

Fit too big.
Prob would've been a great boot, but it fit way too big. Felt like it was about 3 or 4 sizes too long. Width was ok but felt like I was walking in clown shoes. Ended up returning them.

Excellent boots
I love these boots so far. I'm so glad I invested in a quality pair like these. I've worn them in cold (0-30 degrees) and snow several times this winter, and my feet have always stayed warm, dry, and cozy. They're very comfortable, too, unlike my previous boots, in that I can walk for long distances or take long drives while wearing them and not hurt my feet.

Good for rain, not very insulated
Overall these are nice boots for cool, wet weather. Great traction. Not really for very cold weather, though; the shoe portion has some limited lining and the ankle has none. My usual shoe size fits my wide feet, but is slightly long.

Finally -- a 12EE that fits!
Prior to this I ordered and returned 3 pairs of 12EE Bean import boots made in Asia, all were way too narrow. These Bean boots are what a 12EE should be, comfortably loose so that on those crazy cold days you can add another pair of warm socks. These boots are well made, good neat stitching, easy on and off. Best of all made in USA.

I bought these for my son for Christmas. They were a little big so he wanted to get a smaller size. The smaller size was perfect and the Quality is the best! Durable, They Run HUGE
I'm a 10/10.5 in all other shoes. I got the size 9 after hearing these boots run large. I still have a thumbs-width of space between my toes and the toe box. Too large. Two sizes too big is a bit ridiculous.

Hoping for years of use
Still wearing my first pair of these after 25 years, though they’re worn. Excited to have this new pair. They appear to be well made, though it’s too early to tell. Have worn while blowing snow from the driveway and feet stayed warm. Boot tongue comes to the top or the laces, but when laced up, there is a gap in the back. Not really a problem so far. Looking forward to years of use.

Great boots
Best boots I've ever owned!
I wear my Bean Boots everywhere. If need to do a chore or activity in the winter: walk the dog and want warm feet, put the boots on; split wood, put the boots on; go for errand, boot the boots on. The soles are wearing well, the rubber has no cracks or splits after a couple of months and the leather is wearing in nicely. For Colorado winters, they can't be beat.
I'm a size 12. I bought a size 11 because they run large. The insulation is the right amount to keep my feet warm, but not swampy. I generally wear these when the temperature is 40 F and colder. I suspect they will work well into the -5 F. I have had them down to 10F with warm feet.
What sold my purchase is that I can get them resoled in the future. I wish I would have found these boots sooner!

I bought my 8" insulated (Chamois lined) Bean boots 5 years ago, today. Get the insulated boots. Don't question it, get the insulated boots. Other than that, the leather aged perfectly. The leather is soft, they need no break in period. I was forced to get the classic color combo because it's the only ones that are available in Wide sizing. Which fit perfectly. I have been very happy with them. I'd buy them again when mine wear out, but I don't see that happening for probably another 10 years.

Excellent pair of boots!
This was my first order with L.L.Bean., and I couldn’t be happier! They run big enough and wide enough where I had plenty of room to wear nice heavy socks with them. First time I wore them, shoveling snow, zero ambient, -15 windchill, I was out an hour and my feet were nice and warm. And imagine, an insole with an arch support, which my old Sorels never had.
I’ll be shopping here more!

Great Boots Good Fit
Always Wanted A Pair. I wear a size 12 dress shoe. I tried the Bean Boots in both a size 11 and 12 wearing thick socks. The 11s were just a little too snug and the 12s seemed just slightly large. I ended up buying the 12s and I’m very happy with them. They fit well and lace up snugly. My socks don’t slip down and my feet stay well in place. Been wearing them on long dog walks and they are quite comfortable. Good traction in snow and mud. I went with basic insulated version. The chamois lined are very nice but about $50 more. I love the iconic look of these boots.

Multi Functional | Warm | Comfortable
I highly recommend these boots. Get a size down for a great fit with any thickness of sock. They keep your feet plenty warm in cold weather. I use mine for all sorts of activities: Snowy walks in the neighborhood and on trails, snow showing in the mountains, ice fishing, rainy conditions or just to go out on the town. They look and feel great! The leather is super soft too and have a classic look. I wear mine with the Levi’s 511 pants and the cut of those pants style well with these boots.

Got sent used shoes.
First the bad. When I opened the box packaging was everywhere and shoelaces were wrapped in every which direction. I think it was a returned pair of shoes from someone that didn't care and threw it all together. I was so mad I paid so much for that. Thought about sending them back but instead kept them and they are great shoes.

Insulation Creates a Smaller Boot
The insulation in these boots essentially creates a narrower inside for your foot to fit. I ordered the wide width (EE) to accommodate my wider feet and still could not fit my foot inside this boot comfortably even without a sock on. Ordering the next size up would have been too long of a boot, so these will be returned.
