Kid loves it, versatile weather-wise, layers well
This is called "the favorite jacket" in my family. It's our child's go-to, lightweight, not bulky, stretches for easy movement, and just warm enough. It layers beautifully and is versatile. In Los Angeles, CA, it can be hot, warm, and chilly in the course of a day. We bring this with us everywhere we go, adding a rain jacket, flannel shirt, and/orsweater, depending on the weather. (If we add all three, the jacket is warm enough for our mild, wet winters.) Wish kids' colorways were offered in women's sizes. Glad to see women can now buy Airlight jackets. Earlier Airlight tunics and pullovers fell short style-wise, especially compared to the kids' jackets.

Material thinner, and sizing is larger
I occasionally buy kids' items, because some fit my petite stature better than even women's petite XS. This size large airlight kids' hoodie is thinner material and less substantial than the cactus color I bought 2 years ago. The arms on the current version are both wider and longer. Sending back.

Stylish and warm outer layer
This a a very soft and comfortable mid-weight outer layer with a bit more style than most little boys' jackets. I bought it for my grandson to wear on possible chilly nights on a Florida vacation. Sure enough, it got cool and windy and this was great, My daughter liked it so much that she bought a similar one from Bean's for herself. Highly packable and wrinkle-free.

Great jacket for kids!
I have bought these jackets for my twin almost-5 year old boys since they were 2. We are finally in the "kids" sizing. :) This jacket is perfect for them. It's awesome by itself and a great layer, underneath a heavier jacket. They breathe when needed and is a great layer when not running around. Highly recommend.

Go-to jacket, versatile, warm but not bulky
This jacket is the best!!! My kids love their Airlight jackets. I can't explain it, but the jacket is lightweight yet warm, but doesn't overheat when indoors, and doesn't bind/impede movement in any way. It's also less bulky than fleece so it's easier to stuff in a backpack or take on trips. A fleece jacket would be warmer, but I like this Airlight jacket better as it's more versatile: You simply add another Tshirt or a light or midweight sweater underneath for added warmth depending on how cold it is, or remove it if it heats up. (Our local weather often changes 20 to 30 degrees (F) in 24 hours.) That's not to say it isn't warm over a base layer, because it is. My kids always reach for this jacket first and they kvetch when it's in the wash. When it rains, we pair it with the LL Bean Wind and Rain Jacket on top. Even the colors of the two jackets are complementary. Wish LL Bean made this zipped up hoodie for adults. They do have a half zip, kangeroo pocket, hoodie pullover for men (works for women, too), which is very nice, especially in colorblock.
