Fabulous Fabric, Poor Pocket Design
The light-weight fabric is exceptionally comfortable and it stands up to the washing machine well. Unfortunately, the pockets have a side-entry opening which allows anything placed in the pockets to fall out (tissues, a phone, a flashlight—anything placed these pockets falls out right away). If the pockets had a curved inset (like a former adult model of this jacket had) or top-entry pockets, the pockets would be useful and, in my view the jacket would earn 5 instead of 3 stars.

Kid loves it, versatile weather-wise, layers well
This is called "the favorite jacket" in my family. It's our child's go-to, lightweight, not bulky, stretches for easy movement, and just warm enough. It layers beautifully and is versatile. In Los Angeles, CA, it can be hot, warm, and chilly in the course of a day. We bring this with us everywhere we go, adding a rain jacket, flannel shirt, and/orsweater, depending on the weather. (If we add all three, the jacket is warm enough for our mild, wet winters.) Wish kids' colorways were offered in women's sizes. Glad to see women can now buy Airlight jackets. Earlier Airlight tunics and pullovers fell short style-wise, especially compared to the kids' jackets.

Material thinner, and sizing is larger
I occasionally buy kids' items, because some fit my petite stature better than even women's petite XS. This size large airlight kids' hoodie is thinner material and less substantial than the cactus color I bought 2 years ago. The arms on the current version are both wider and longer. Sending back.

Stylish and warm outer layer
This a a very soft and comfortable mid-weight outer layer with a bit more style than most little boys' jackets. I bought it for my grandson to wear on possible chilly nights on a Florida vacation. Sure enough, it got cool and windy and this was great, My daughter liked it so much that she bought a similar one from Bean's for herself. Highly packable and wrinkle-free.

Great jacket for kids!
I have bought these jackets for my twin almost-5 year old boys since they were 2. We are finally in the "kids" sizing. :) This jacket is perfect for them. It's awesome by itself and a great layer, underneath a heavier jacket. They breathe when needed and is a great layer when not running around. Highly recommend.
