The warmest fleece I have ever owned and it’s not even close. Effectively blocks the wind. Very snug and warm around the neck. If they made more different styles and colors, I would buy them all!

Sizing has dramatically changed
I have this in another color that I bought 3 years ago. Very nice jacket with good windbreak material. I wanted to buy the navy color and ordered the same size. I was very surprised at how tight it was across the chest now. So much so it fits like a wetsuit. Length of jacket and sleeves and hip the same. Why did ll bean tighten it up across the chest? Oh well at least I can still enjoy my old version that fits great.

Nice look - defective design
I am very dissppinted, i love the design and look but the jacket is not beathable and creates a layer of sweat and water inside and then takes a while to dry

Excellent Jacket and hope it fits!
This sweater-jacket was purchased for my 21 year old grandson. I think it will be a perfect fit but won't know that until I see it on him. He did not seem delighted with the gift and I am not sure why since he picked it out from the catalog. Sorry I can not be more helpful in reviewing it.

WindPROOF!!!
This jacket is AWESOME! When it says “windPROOF” they mean it. I’ve only had the jacket now for about 4 weeks, however, it’s been during the whole month of December in NC. The weather has been exceptionally cold and windy. This jacket has truly met and exceeded expectations! The only down side of this jacket is that it reminds you of the rest of your body that isn’t covered by cold weather or wind proof gear. I got the XXL Tall and fits great. Not to loose, not too tight. I have a longer torso so the extra length is great. I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone who works outdoors, active outdoors, and or just wants a really nice warm jacket!

very nice sweat shirt/jacket
I also bought the Bean fleece sweater jacket and I am pleased with both items. This is called Men's mountain classic windproof, so I thought it would be heavier but both are similar in weight. I like wearing a sweatshirt type cover instead of a sweater. I like the more solid feel of this type of sweatshirt over the loose feel of a sweater and in the cold weather I will be wearing this item under a coat which will be a good layered warm feel. The style is excellent. More formal than a sweatshirt and yet a similar feel.

Skinny sleeves--disappointed
I wanted to like this jacket, but the sleeves are very narrow and the interior of the sleeves is very sticky. Pulling this jacket on over a sweater or chamois shirt is hopeless. Unless you want the entire sweater sleeve covering your triceps. Worn alone over a t-shirt this is probably a great product.

Wrist openings uselessly large
Wrist openings on this Mountain Classic Windproof Fleece jacket are uselessly large .. the lycra trim is supposed to be sewed on snug enough to retain the wrist opening above the hand just below the wrist bone .. unfortunately, the wrist lycra is sewn so loosely that the entire sleeve falls down the arm and the end of the sleeve reached the last knuckle just before the ends of my fingers .. a ridiculous piece of tailoring that indicates a complete lack of LLB quality control with their vendors .. I typically take a large in LLB natural fit, but this piece of slim fit nonsense was 48" chest garment dimension with only 18 1/4" cross shoulder width .. the extra large with garment with 51" chest and 19" shoulder width fit fine except for the bad wrist opening tailoring ..

I bought this as a colder weather running jacket with pockets. Also wanted something to cut the wind in the cold weather. It is very warm. This morning was around 32 degrees and I was comfortable in a tshirt and this jacket. This feels like it will work well for most of the winter with a thermal layer.

Very functional fleece
It’s hard to find a fleece that’s fully wind proof. This jacket is very useful because of this essential feature. The checkered look however, is pretty ugly. Therefore, it’s more of a functional piece of clothing for me. Too bad LL Bean doesn’t offer a solid version. I subtracted one star for aesthetics, however, this may not be an issue for you.

The fit was on the slim side, so there was little room for layering underneath. Also, the sleeves were slightly short and I would have preferred a banded cuff or some other cuff closure.

Very Nice Cool Weather Fleece
very nice fleece. But lacks a lining in the sleeves to allow easier on/off. Right now, it tends to catch on your sleeve material provided you are wearing a long sleeve shirt. Would help make the on/off a lot easier as it currently drags on this area.
Other than that I like this fleece lot.
